두경부 암환자 치료 시 CT On-rail System을 이용한 이하선의 위치 보정 및 선량 평가 (Evaluation of Dose and Position Compensation of Parotid Gland Using CT On-rail System in Head-and-Neck Cancer)

  • 목 적: 두경부 암 환자 치료 시 표적 및 주변 장기(Target 및 Structure)를 확인하는 방법으로 MVCBCT, KVCBCT, CT On-rail System, Ultrasound 등이 이용된다. 이 중 MVCBCT의 경우는 뼈를 이용한 표적 및 주변 장기의 확인에는 유용하나, 연부조직으로 구성된 표적 및 주변 장기의 확인에는 어려움이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 CT On-rail System을 이용하여 두경부 암 환자의 이하선의 움직임에 대한 파악과 체적의 변화에 따른 선량의 변화를 연구해 보고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 본원에서 두경부 암으로 치료받는 환자 5명을 대상으로 하였다. 선택된 환자는 시멘스사 ARTISTE CT Vision (CT On-rail System)을 이용하여 주당 3회씩 CT 스캔을 시행하였다. CT 스캔 후 이하선의 움직임을 치료 계획시의 영상과 비교하여 이동된 좌표를 얻었으며, 이하선의 체적을 확인하기 위하여 획득한 CT영상을 치료계획 시스템(RTP System)에 전송하여 변화된 체적에 따른 선량분포의 차이를 확인하였다. 결 과: 이하선의 움직임에 의한 표적 좌표의 변화는 X: -0.4~0.4 cm, Y: -0.4~0.3 cm, Z: -0.3~0.3 cm이었다. GTV의 체적은 평균 7.11%/week로 감소되었으며 이하선의 체적과 선량의 변화는 평균적으로 좌측 이하선의 체적은 평균 4.81%/week, 우측 이하선의 체적은 2.91%/week, 선량은 좌측 이하선의 선량은 3.66%/week, 우측 이하선 선량은 2.01%/week 감소하였다. 결 론: CT On-rail System에서 얻어진 영상을 이용하여 표적 및 주변 장기를 확인한 결과 MVCBCT를 이용한 영상에 비해 연부조직의 관찰에 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 획득한 영상으로 재 치료계획(Replanning)을 한 후 선량의 재분포를 획득한 결과 단순한 움직임의 보정뿐 아니라 체적의 변화를 고려한 정확한 선량분포를 얻을 수 있었으며, 이렇게 보정된 선량의 전달은 Adaptive Targeting Radiotherapy가 가능할 수 있다고 사료된다. 향후 선량의 전달까지 걸리는 시간을 단축할 수 있는 Real Time Adaptive Targeting Radiotherapy가 구축되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

도시권 지하철.전철의 운행평가 분석 (The assessment analysis of rail transit operation in Seoul metropolitan area)

  • This study investigates the one-year performance of the Seoul Metropolitan Rail Transit(SMRT) operation. It intends to provide a basic understanding for railway operation in Seoul Metropolitan Area and thereby for making rational transport policy. The paper is conceptually comprised of four sections; analysis of passenger travel characteristics; SMRT costing and traffic cost function: its operating characteristics in terms of finance and utilization; primary social benefits of SMRT and suggestions. In the first year of operation (1974), the average daily traffic was about 335,000, After the drastic increases of fare in both Subway and KNR rail-lines, the travel volume has been cut by almost 10 percent, though most pronounced on intra-Subway line. The spatial distribution of passengers indicates that travelers use the SMRT line mainly for uninterrupted direct travel toward the CBD. In the prospective costing, the opereting expenses are divided into three groups; those which vary directly with volume; those partially variable with volume; and those entirely unrelated to volume change, With this information, cost function was derived for varying schedules of operation. Primary social benefits of the SMRT are assessed, though preliminary. Account should be taken of the nature of common costs of the SMRT in fare-rate making, especially when much of the operating expenses are accounted for by the fixed costs such that the revenue may not readily turn into break-even. The accounting results of the one-year operation coincide reasonably well with the prospective costing estimates. According to the findings of this annd another travelers' behavior studies, managerial effort would bring more revenue gain to the SMRT than fare increase does, not to speak of greater social benefits by so doing.

Embodied Energy and $CO_2$ Emissions Evaluation for Freight Transport

  • This study aim at demonstrating the environmental performance of freight transport of the rail and road mode through an indicator of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions. Using the concept of LCA, the scope of evaluation includes energy production, supply chain activity and operation. The results of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions are normalized by means of traffic volume. The results shown that embodied $CO_2$ emissions road mode is 607.07 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ and 284.67 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ for road and rail mode, respectively. This number reveals that road mode is 2.1 times larger than rail mode. The results also indicate that the main contribution of $CO_2$ emission from road mode is in the operation stage, which accounts for 70%; however, it is the construction and supply chain stage that accounts for over 50% of the emission of rail mode.

의왕ICD 철도수송 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A study on the promotion for rail transport in Ui-Wang ICD)

  • In 1991, Korean government decided to establish the Inland Container Depot for activating transportation of rail freight container and encourage the effectiveness of intermodal transport system. Therefore, the Ui-Wang ICD has been built in Kyonggi province and began to operate in 1993. However, Despite of original purpose of the Inland Container Depot, rail freight volume at public CY(Container Yard) in Ui-Wang ICD has been recorded very low. This paper deals with the promotion strategy for rail transport in Ui-Wang ICD. The relationship of conflicts between the rail-oriented transporters and road-oriented transporters in Ui-Wang ICD have been found through the TOC thinking process and some solutions are suggested. Some undesirable effects in operation of Ui-Wang ICD are listed and current reality tree(CRT) has been established and future reality tree(FRT) which includes some injections to active the rail transport in ICD has been recommended based on CRT. In order to make good solutions the situation in Busan-jin station ICD known as similar to Ui-Wang ICD has been analyzed.

  • The aim of this study was to compare the spray characteristics of a typical fuel (100% diesel, DME) and diesel-DME blended fuel in a constant volume combustion chamber (CVCC). The typical fuel (100% diesel, DME) and diesel-DME blended fuel spray characteristics were investigated at various ambient pressures (pressurized nitrogen) and fuel injection pressures using a common rail fuel injection system when the fuel mixture ratio was varied. The fuel injection quantity and spray characteristics were measured including spray shape, penetration length, and spray angle. Common types of injectors were used.

  • Constant volume combustion chamber has been designed to investigate diesel spray characteristics with Common-Rail injection system to realize high pressure injection. In this study, two methods of measurements, Schlieren shadowgraphy and Mie scattering imaging method ate applied experimentally to study spray form and liquid phase zone in high pressure, high temperature conditions. Diesel fuel is injected at the point which ignited mixture gas is completely burned. The effect of injection pressure, injector hole diameter, ambient gas temperature and density are investigated experimentally.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 도시철도 레일의 노후화로 인한 레일표면결함이 증가하고 있으나 국가에서 제정된 궤도성능평가에 관한 세부지침에서 레일표면손상을 기술자의 육안, 간단한 측정 도구로 점검을 수행하는 실정이다. 최근 궤도진단법 제정에 따라 대규모 예산이 투입되고 레일진단물량이 급증되고 있으나 노동집약적인 육안조사기법으로는 진단결과에 대한 신뢰성확보가 어려운 실정이다. 주기적인 선로순회작업 및 육안점검을 통해 레일표면의 결함을 발견하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 그러나 점검자의 주관적 판단에 의해 레일표면의 결함의 경중을 평가하는 것은 레일 내부의 손상을 예측하기에 상당한 제약이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 레일표면손상에 따른 레일내부 균열특성 관한 연구로서 현장측정에서는 레일표면 손상개소를 선정하여 다양한 손상유형의 시료를 채취하여 레일표면손상 상태를 평가하고 실내시험에서 전자주사현미경(SEM)을 이용하여 레일표면결함 및 내부결함의 상관관계를 분석하고자 한다. 또한 실내시험의 결과와 수치해석 결과를 비교를 통하여 레일표면손상을 분석하였다. 현재 공용중인 도시철도 레일의 균열성장율을 파악하고자 가우시안 확률밀도 함수를 적용하여 분석하였다.

전자제어 커먼레일 압축착화엔진용 고압연료펌프의 DME 적용 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the DME Application Performance of a High Pressure Fuel Pump for an Electric Controlled Common-rail Compression Ignition Engine)

  • Recently, the interest in the development of high efficiency Diesel engine technology using alternative fuel has been on the rise and related studies are being performed. Therefore, the DME(Dimethyl Ether), an oxygen containing fuel as an alternative fuel for light oil that can be used for diesel engines since it generates very little smoke. But it is unavoidable that the modification of a fuel supply system in an engine to application of the DME fuel because of DME fuel properties. So, in this study, a DME high pressure pump for a common-rail fuel supply system has been composed and the test results of the pump have been presented. As the results of the tests, it is confirmed that DME pump inlet pressure, pump speed and common-rail pressure effects on the volumetric efficiencies of the pump. Finally, it is defined that the optimum plunger volume of a DME pump has to be extended to the minimum 150% compared to a Diesel pump plunger volume considering DME fuel properties and volumetric efficiencies characteristics at same specifications of the high pressure pump.

  • The finishing method of concrete floor using automatic surface finisher is one of new technologies in concrete floor construction. The development of high technologies in construction will increase in order to satisfy the demand to construct high quality building. Using this method, it is possible to increase the quality of building as well as to reduce the labor work in site. In this paper, a system which can be used to finish the concrete floor using automatic surface finisher, is presented and its structural capacities are evaluated. The system is composed of rail which guides the surface vibrator and absorbs the volume change of concrete, and a device supporting the rail. From the experimental work for these devices, it was shown that the support and rail had suitable strength to resist the automatic surface finisher. For design purpose, also, effective span of supports was tabulated.

  • The purpose of this work is to general approach to numerically simulating wear in rolling and sliding contact area between wheel and rail interface based on the analysis of dynamics with general MBS package. A simulation scheme is developed that calculates the wear at a detailed level. The estimation of material removal follows Archard's wear equation which states that the reduction of volume is linearly proportional to the sliding distance, the normal applied load and the wear coefficient and inverse proportional to hardness. The main research application is the wheel-rail contact of Korea High Speed Railway.
