  • Decision of operation performance mode to minimize the energy consumption of urban rail vehicle. This paper analyses how much acceleration and deceleration of urban rail vehicle should be applied andhow to choose an operation mode to minimize energy consumption when train runs between station within the fixed operation time. The decided operation pattern satisfying the minimum energy consumption becomes a target trajectory and a basis for the controller design criteria. To make this goal it grasps the characteristics of urban rail vehicle, realize operation energy model of urban rail vehicle and verify the accuracy of embodied model the Matlab simulation with the same operation result of real route. It searches for operation pattern to minimize operation energy by changing the acceleration and deceleration on the imaginative route and proposes operation pattern minimizing energy consumption by applying real operation data between Dolgogee-Sukgye section of Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 6.

  • In this study we deal with a simple computer simulation algorithm to decide the PRT station capacity. PRT system is different from the conventional rail traffic system in such point that the station is off-line so as to guarantee a very short headway. This characteristic has correlation with the accurate prediction of the line capacity and with the scale of the off-line station. In this paper physical factors and vehicles per hour that are necessary to decide the off-line station scale and the off-line station capacity, respectively, are shown through a simple compter simulations.

  • In 1991, Korean government decided to establish the Inland Container Depot for activating transportation of rail freight container and encourage the effectiveness of intermodal transport system. Therefore, the Ui-Wang ICD has been built in Kyonggi province and began to operate in 1993. However, Despite of original purpose of the Inland Container Depot, rail freight volume at public CY(Container Yard) in Ui-Wang ICD has been recorded very low. This paper deals with the promotion strategy for rail transport in Ui-Wang ICD. The relationship of conflicts between the rail-oriented transporters and road-oriented transporters in Ui-Wang ICD have been found through the TOC thinking process and some solutions are suggested. Some undesirable effects in operation of Ui-Wang ICD are listed and current reality tree(CRT) has been established and future reality tree(FRT) which includes some injections to active the rail transport in ICD has been recommended based on CRT. In order to make good solutions the situation in Busan-jin station ICD known as similar to Ui-Wang ICD has been analyzed.

  • In this paper, the hazard factors on voltage rising effect between the rail and the earth were reviewed in subway system of AC traction line according to moving condition and location of the train. Site measuring of voltage rising between conductor part of train and station floor was performed to ascertain the risk level on the passenger. Plans for preventing hazard of rail-voltage rising and electrical shock on the passengers at platform were proposed.

  • This study aims to analyze citizen's preference of rail station lifts(stairs & Escalation) and estimate the user benefit of Escalation, Also it includes how high is the height of the entrance ramp when citizens want to set up an escalator. 89 percent of subway users prefer escalators and said escalators are needed for stairs higher than the double-deck stairs. Especially It is higher for the age older than 30 and woman. Therefore, personnel characteristics and facility characteristics should be considered in relation to escalator installation. Based on the multiple logistic model, WTP(Willing to pay) was estimated at 34.37 won in a survey conducted to estimate practical user benefit(physical side) of escalator.

  • Rolling noise caused by the contact between the train wheels and rails is the main factor of noise generated by the operation of railway, therefore the features of rail vibration and its correlations with noise radiation should be identified. In this study, noise radiation generated from vibration were predicted by utilizing FE model with boundary element method. Noise radiation generated from vibration were predicted by utilizing FE model with boundary element method, and were compared with the measured noise in order to validate the reliability of the analysis method. In addition, the features of noise radiation according to the rail attenuation were examined in the frequency domain, and the noise radiation has been reduced by approximately 3dB(A) with additional rail damping.

  • Dwelling time is one of the factors that influence in rail. Current research in dwelling time has been focusing on railways, the state of the research in high-speed rail's dwelling time is not complete. Dwelling time is consisted of time to open door, time to get into and out of vehicle and time of the departure it takes after the passenger's door was closed, it was affected by various factors such as congestion's degree in vehicle, the number of persons that get into and out of vehicle, congestion's degree in station. In order to analyze theses, we need data analysis such as the number of persons that get into and out of vehicle, congestion's degree in station, congestion's degree in vehicle, but the congestion's degree and passenger's distribution chart in vehicle is excluded in this research due to difficulty of gathering data, and thus we will develop forecasting models through high-speed rail's demand most affected by the dwelling time.

  • Great impetus has come from the renewed emphasis on improving public transport in many countries. In Korea, built over 12 years at a cost of ${\$}12$ billion and modeled on the TGV of France, the Korea Train Express will open for regular traffic on April, 2004. The schematic design of terminal building for Kwang-Myeong station was chosen by the international competition in 1997. Mooyoung Architects and Engineers joined with AREP, French Architect awarded.

  • In 2004, railway safety law was established since intimidatory factors have increased for railway industry, such as high speed rail, urban transit extension, induction of new transportations. The projects for safety system establishment and guidelines are performed including the safety guidelines for station and platform. Therefore, in this study the safety rules are examined through investigation for stations
