Intramural leiomyoma is the most common benign esophageal tumor, but it is rare compared with carcinoma. Although the most common symptom is dysphagia, this tumor may not cause symptoms before attaining large size. Radiographic and endoscopic findings allow an accurate diagnosis to be made before operation in most patients. The treatment of choice is enucleation without mucosal encroachment. Recently, we experienced two cases of esophageal leiomyoma on the mid portion of esophagus and enucleation of tumors were done by blunt dissection with caution. In one case, postoperative chylothorax was complicated, but cured with conservative treatment. The tissue diagnosis was confirmed with pathological finding.

The purpose of this study was comparision of conventional tomography with reformatted computed tomography for dental implant in locating the mandibular canal. Five dogs were used and after conventional tomographs and reformatted computed tomographs were taken, four dentist traced all films. Mandibles were sectioned with 2mm slice thickness and the sections were then radiographed(contact radiography). Each radiographic image was traced and linear measurements were made from mandibular canal to alveolar crest, buccal cortex, lingual cortex, and inferior border. Following results were acquired : 1. Reformatted computed tomographs were exacter than conventional tomography by alveolar crest to canal length of -0.6mm difference between real values and radiographs. 2. The average measurements of buccal cortex to mandibular canal width and lingual cortex to mandibular canal width of conventional tomographs were exacter than reformatted computed tomographs, but standard deviations were higher than reformatted computed tomographs. 3. Standard deviations of reformatted computed tomographs were lower than conventional tomographs at all comparing sites 4. At reformatted computed tomography 62.5% of the measurements performed were within. : filmm of the true value, and at conventional tomography 24.1% were. 5. Mandibular canal invisibiity was 0.8% at reformatted computed tomography and 9.2% at conventional tomography. Reformatted computed tomography has been shown to be more useful radiographic technique for assessment of the mandibular canal than conventional tomography.
Pulmonary siderosis is a pneumoconiosis caused by chronic iron inhalation. A diagnosis of pulmonary siderosis is based on a patient history of iron inhalation, on chest radiographic findings, and on accumulation of iron oxide in macrophages within the lung. A typical radiographic finding of pulmonary siderosis includes ill-defined micronodules that are diffusely distributed in the lung. We experienced a 52-year-woman with a $1.3{\times}1.5$-cm mass in the left upper lobe with multiple nodules in both lungs. Because the radiographic findings were atypical, we conducted a video-assisted thorascopic lung biopsy procedure to exclude the diagnosis of metastatic lung cancer. After confirming iron deposition in the lung tissue and knowing the patient's occupational history of welding iron, we concluded that this was a case of pulmonary siderosis.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the anatomic circle around the impacted lower third molar to show, document, and correlate essential findings that should be included in the routine radiographic assessment protocol as clinically meaningful factors in overall case evaluation and treatment planning. Materials and Methods: Cone-beam computed tomographic images of impacted lower third molars were selected according to specific inclusion criteria. Impacted teeth were classified according to their position before assessment. The adjacent second molars were assessed for distal caries, distal bone loss, and root resorption. The fourth finding was the presence of a retromolar canal distal to the impaction. Communication with the dentist responsible for each case was done to determine whether these findings were detected or undetected by them before communication. Results: Statistically significant correlations were found between impaction position, distal bone loss, and detected distal caries associated with the adjacent second molar. The greatest percentage of undetected findings was found in the evaluation of distal bone status, followed by missed detection of the retromolar canal. Conclusion: The radiographic assessment protocol for impacted third molars should consider a step-by-step evaluation for second molars, and clinicians should be aware of the high prevalence of second molar affection in horizontal and mesioangular impactions. They also should search for the retromolar canal due to its associated clinical considerations.

Nasolabial cyst is a rare non-odonotogenic, soft-tissue, developmental cyst arising inferior to the nasoalar region of the face. The most common clinical finding of the nasolabial cyst is that of a slowly enlarging asymptomatic swelling typically without radiographic abnormalities. This case report describes a 25-year-old man in which the clinicopathologic findings and an erosive finding on the computed tomographic scan on maxilla were consistent with nasolabial cyst. The histopathologic features, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis are discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the radiographic and clinical findings of massive rotator cuff tears. Materials and Methods: Forty-five diagnosed cases (35 patients) of massive rotator cuff tears were investigated in this study. Grade of arthritis in the massive rotator cuff tears was classified based on plain radiographs using the method of Hamada et al.. And we clinically evaluated cases using the UCLA scoring system. Results: No statistically significant correlation ($r_s$=0.220, p=0.151) was found between arthritis grades in massive rotator cuff tears and clinical features. Dominant arm involvement appeared to be related to a higher rate of surgical treatment and a lower UCLA score. Conclusion: In massive rotator cuff tear patients, radiographic findings of arthritis may not always correspond to clinical features relevant in daily life. Therefore, we suggest that treatment strategies should be carefully considered when considering treatment modalities.

The author analyzed the morphologic changes of bone structure from 848 radiograph is (424 joints) of 212 patients with temporomandibular joint arthrosis, which were obtained by the oblque-Iateral transcranial projection and orthopantomography. The interelation of the bone changes and condylar head positions the results were as follows: 1. In the 212 patients with TMJ arthrosis, 210 patients(99.05%) show the condylar positional changes. Among them, 187 patients 989.05%) show the bone changes. 2. In TMJ arthrosis patients with bone changes, 10% patients(57.75%) show both the condylar positional changes and bone changes. 66 patients( %) show the condylar psoitional changes bilaterally and bone changes unilaterally. On the other hand, 11 patients (5.88%) show the condylar positional changes unilaterally and bone change bilaterally. 3. The bone changes in the TMJ arthrosis patients with the condylar positional changes were as follows: There were the flatlening of articular surface in 103 cases (26.55%) the erosion in 99cases 925.57%), and the erosion in 88 cases (22.68%). There were not much differences among the three types of bone changes. And the deformity in 70 cases (18.04%), the sclerosis in 22 cases(5.67%), the marginal protiferation in 6 cases(1.55%) were seen. 4. The regions of bone changes in TMJ arthrosis patients with condylar positional changes were as follows: They occurred at the condyle head(51.04%), the articular eminence(39.20%) and the articular fossa(9.60%) in that order. The condylar positional changes and bone changes according to the regions were as follows: a) In the bone changes at the condyle head, the flatteming (34.63%) was a most frequent finding and the deformity(27.63%) the erosion(24.32%) in the order. In the condylar positional changes, the downward positioning of condyle(41.44%) was a most frequent finding in the mouth closed state and the restricted movement within the articular fossa(35.46%) in the mouth open state. b) In the bone changes at the articular eminence, the eburnation(33.26%) was a most frequent finding and the flatteming(31.16%), the erosion(28.37%) in that order. In the condylar positional changes, the downward positionirg of condyle(39.81%) was a most frequent finding in the mouth closed state and the restricted movement within the articular fossa(24.77%) in the mouth open state. c) In the bone changes at the articular fossa, the eburnation(72.90%) was amost frequent finding and theerosion(17.76%), the sclerosis(9.35%) in that arder. In the condylar positional changes, the downward positionirg of condyle(41.5%) was a most frequent finding in the mouth closed state and the mormal positionirg of condyle(27.78%) in the mouth open state.
A 3-year-old, male Shih-tzu dog with clinical signs of dysuria and hematuria was brought to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Chonnam National University. The patient was suspected urolithiasis by history taking and clinical signs but urinary and urethra calculus was not found in the radiographic examination. Enlarged prostatic gland (29.0$\times$28.0 mm) and severe finding of cystitis was observed from the ultrasonographic examination. The dog was finally diagnosed as the secondary urethral obstruction by benign prostatic hyperplasia. Castration was performed to treatment of acute hyperplasia of prostatic gland and prostatic cysts. After 26 days of operation, the prostate was defined small, hypoechoic, symmetric and decreased size (18.5$\times$18.0mm) by ultrasonography and dysuria cured completely.

Desmoplastic fibromas are rare intraosseous bone tumors. They are benign but locally aggressive and frequently found in the long bones and mandible. We report radiographic and histopathologic finding of a case desmoplastic fibroma involving right temporal skull bone. A 53-year-old woman presented at our hospital complaining of continuous right side headaches for a year. Simple skull X-ray film showed $3{\times}2.5cm$ lytic lesion with mild sclerotic margin on right temporal area. A large craniectomy 1cm lateral to margin was fashioned. The resected mass showed encapsulated mass colored white gray. Histologic diagnosis was compatible with that of a the desmoplastic fibroma. There was no evidence of recurrence during the 15months of follow-up period.

It is rare to find multiple supernumerary teeth in individuals with no other associated diseases or syndromes. 'Non-Syndrome multiple supernumerary teeth' reviewed by Yusof(1990) have more frequency of occurrence in the mandibular region. Especially, mandibular premolar region appears to be the site of predilection for no n-syndrome multiple supernumerary teeth. Also, these may develop after most permanent teeth have erupted, thus their effect upon the occlusion is limited. In this case, the patient had 20 supernumerary teeth without other associated diseases or syndromes. All of the supernumerary teeth were impacted, and thirteen of them were found in the premolar region. In the radiographic and clinical finding, other specific complication resulted from the supernumerary teeth weren't observed.
