/sup 226/Ra and /sup 228/Ra analysis were carried out at the representative station of Masan Bay from May to August, 1999. The high activities of /sup 226/Ra and /sup 228/Ra in the surface water were appeared in rainy season (August, 1). However, there is no significant variation in concentrations in the other season. A high negative linear correlation between /sup 226/Ra activities and salinity in the surface water suggests that /sup 226/Ra activity in the surface water was controlled by simple mixing between the two end-members low salinity high /sup 226/Ra activity water of inner Bay and a high salinity low /sup 226/Ra activity water of the continental shelf water out of Bay. /sup 226/Ra activities below the surface mixed layer were higher than those of expected level from the /sup 226/Ra versus salinity. And also /sup 228/Ra//sup 226/Ra ratios in the bottom water were lower compared to those in surface water due to the presence of potential source of /sup 226/Ra below the surface mixed layer. However, it is known that /sup 228/Ra compared to /sup 226/Ra is enriched in bottom sediments and pure water. Therefore, the most probable sources for low /sup 228/Ra//sup 226/Ra activity ration is submarine ground water discharge. Further studies are required to quantify the various sources of /sup 226/Ra and /sup 228/Ra and their relative contributions.
Retinoic acid (RA), a metabolite of vitamin A, is known to regulate dedifferentiation of rabbit articular chondrocytes. The regulatory mechanism of dedifferentiation by RA is not yet understood. Thus, the effect of RA on the regulation of nitric oxide (NO)-induced dedifferentiation was investigated in rabbit articular chondrocytes. RA caused loss of the differentiated chondrocyte phenotype as demonstrated by inhibition of type II collagen expression and proteoglycan synthesis. RA also accelerated NO-induced dedifferentiation in rabbit articular chondrocytes as detected by expression of type II collagen and Sox-9 using Western blot analysis and production of sulfated proteoglycan using Alcain blue staining. Further, RA potentiated NO-induced activation of ERK. Inhibition of ERK with PD98059 (PD) recovered the expression of type II collagen and Sox-9 and production of sulfate proteoglycan in NO-induced dedifferentiated chondrocytes by RA treatment. Our findings suggest that RA accelerates NO-induced dedifferentiation of rabbit articular chondrocytes via the ERK pathway.

Using $MnO_2-coated$ fiber extraction and gamma counting techniques, we measured the distributions of $^{226}Ra$\;and\;^{228}Ra$ in the surface waters at 14 stations of East Sea of Korea in September, 1988. The concentrations of $^{226}Ra$\;and\;^{228}Ra$ in the surface waters ranged $70-110\;dpm/10^3l$ and 102=232 $dpm/10^3l$, respectively. In general, the concentrations of Ra isotopes were shown higher in the coastal and southern stations than those in the outer and northern stations in our observed area. Also, the concentrations of Ra isotopes in the study area were significantly higher than values in the other area of the East Sea and Kuroshio surface water, but much lower than the concentrations in the surface water of Yellow Sea reported previously. There was an inverse relationship between the $^{226}Ra/^{228}Ra$ ratio and salinity in the surface waters of Kuroshio, Yellow Sea and East Sea of Korea. This indicates that the continental shelf waters such as Yellow Sea and East China Sea are main source of Ra isotopes in surface waters of the East Sea of Korea.

This study aims to decipher surface water mass interaction in summer in the South China Sea and East China Sea by radium isotope distribution pattern. Salinity and activity ratio of radium ($^{228}Ra/^{226}Ra$) showed gradual changes, which were adequate to apply simple two end-member mixing between Kuroshio surface water and Changjiang Dilute Water for the East China Sea and the former and Nearshore Diluted Watermass (NDW) for the South China Sea. Two tracer methods, salinity and Ra isotope ratio, were compared for East China Sea. Results showed remarkable consistency for waters near Kuroshio, however, discrepancy were noticeable after Tsushima Warm Current branching. Mixing with subsurface waters may cause the discrepancy. When mixed with subsurface waters, salts and radium isotope ratio are expected to be biased in opposite direction, i. e. prone to underestimate the fraction of less saline water in the case of salts and vice versa for Ra isotope ratio. Taking the mean values of two different results seems more realistic to estimate fraction of end-members.
Ba is the most useful element to get the $Ba(Ra)SO_4$ precipitate. However, when the high concentrations of ions such as sulfate, calcium are existed in the leachate of phosphogypsum stack, it is difficult to get the $Ba(Ra)SO_4$ precipitate. Since this reason, the developed method for the Ba coprecipitate using EDTA was performed to determine the $^{226}Ra$ concentration in the high sulfate sample. The average concentration of $^{226}Ra$ in a leachate of phosphogypsum using this method was 0.102 $Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ and the minimal detectable activity is 3.4 $mBq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$. The $mBq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ method was 0.102 $Bq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ and the minimal detectable activity is 3.4 $mBq{\cdot}kg^{-1}$. The $^{226}Ra$ stock solution and the CRM (Certified Reference Material) were analyzed to verify this method. In analyzed $^{226}Ra$ stock solution, bias with added concentration was approximately 1% and the correlation curve between $^{226}Ra$ concentration in simulated standard sample and measured $^{226}Ra$ concentration showed good agreement with a correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of 0.99. In analyzed CRM, maximum bias with reference value was 5.8% (k=1) and the analytical results were in good agreement with the reference value.

LoRa (Long Range) is a long-distance, low-power communication technology. Broader range of communication than NFC technology allows communication without having to install multiple APs and reduces the cost of initial infrastructure deployment. MQTT (Message, Queuing, Telemetry, Transport) protocol is also low power and lightweight protocols. It can increase module persistence and reduce maintenance costs when used with LoRa. In this paper, we developed a system for compiling various environmental information in a factory using LoRa and MQTT. Environmental sensor data from long distances can be monitored by the management system and the facilities in each workshop can be controlled. Performance tests have also shown that the use of LoRa and MQTT is effective in terms of long-distance and power consumption.

In this paper, we propose a novel MAC protocol based on the harmonic transmission of ACK, called HAT-LoRa, for improving the reliability and the utilization in multiple gateway LoRa Networks. LoRa is basically vulnerable to collision due to the primitive pure ALOHA-like MAC. Whereas data frame delivery can be guaranteed by the transparent bridge of multiple receiving gateways, ACK is still transmitted by a single gateway in LoRa Network. HAT-LoRa provides the augmented reception opportunity of ACK via the simultaneous transmissions of identical ACK in multiple spreading factors. The proposed method reduces the expected transmission times of ACK double gateway environment as well as single gateway environment, by 55 and 60% in maximum, by 35% and 40% in average, in a single- and double-gateway environment, respectively. Especially, it outperforms under the environment where the distance between end device and gateways are similar to each other.
This study was performed to evaluate the embolized kidney and contralateral normal kidney using computed tomography (CT) and enhanced computed tomography. Experimental hydronephrosis was induced by ligation of unilateral ureter in Beagle dogs. Renal artery embolization was performed using selective catheterization in the hydronephrotic kidney of seven dogs and EKG, $SpO_2$, body temperature, pulse, and repiratory rate were within normal ranges during procedures. Iohexol-ethanol solution was used as embolic material. There were no dogs expired after TAE-Ra and no side effects associated with regurgitation of iohexol-ehtanol solution. Revascularization of renal artery was not found in angiography in dogs treated by TAE-RA at immediately after TAE-RA and 14 days after TAE-RA. CT showed dilation of urinary collection system and ventral displacement of spleen at 14 days after TAE-RA in one dog not treated by TAE-RA and experimental group treated by TAE-Ra. CT two month after TAE-RA showed the shrunken embolized kidney in experimental group. Transverse CT with contrast enhancement demonstrated the increase of signal intensity at thinned renal cortex in control group not treated by TAE-Ra at 30 days and 60 days, however, there was no increase of signal intensity at shrunken embolized kidney at 60 days after TAE-RA. CT was useful modality for evaluation of the morphology and the size of embolized kidney and contralateral normal kidney. Enhanced CT was availabel for the detection of revascularization of renal artery after TAE-RA in dogs with hydronephrosis. It is conclued that CT is useful modality for the monitoring of the revascularization of the renal artery after TAE-RA.
LoRaWAN(Long Range Wide Area Network) is a standard for low-power, long-range, low-speed communication as announced in the LoRa Alliance. LoRaWAN addresses the physical layer and medium access control layer and the technology used in the physical layer is referred to as LoRa. LoRa can be used for remote monitoring and remote control in maritime conditions. However, unlike land, marine environment is not only difficult to construct an infrastructure for service provision, but also difficult to analyze LoRa performance in maritime. In this study, we construct an infrastructure using cloud platform and analyze LoRa link performance in maritime conditions.

In the IoT(IoT: Internet of Things) environment, network configuration is essential to collect data generated from objects. Various communication methods are used to process data of objects, and wireless communication methods such as Bluetooth and WiFi are mainly used. In order to collect data of objects, a communication module must be installed to collect data generated from sensors or edge devices in real time. And in order to deliver data to the database, a software architecture must be configured. Data generated from objects can be stored and managed in a database in real time, and data necessary for industrial safety can be extracted and utilized for industrial safety service applications. In this paper, a network environment was constructed using a LoRa(LoRa: Long Range) gateway to collect object data, and a client/server data collection model was designed to collect object data transmitted from the LoRa module. In order to secure the resources necessary for data collection and storage management without data leakage, data collection should be possible in real time. As an application service, location data required for industrial safety can be stored and managed in a database in real time.
