Digital subtraction angiography vs. real-time fluoroscopy for detection of intravascular injection during transforaminal epidural block

  • Background: Transforaminal epidural block (TFEB) is an effective treatment option for radicular pain. To reduce complications from intravascular injection during TFEB, use of imaging modalities such as real-time fluoroscopy (RTF) or digital subtraction angiography (DSA) has been recommended. In this study, we investigated whether DSA improved the detection of intravascular injection during TFEB at the whole spine level compared to RTF. Methods: We prospectively examined 316 patients who underwent TFEB. After confirmation of final needle position using biplanar fluoroscopy, 2 mL of nonionic contrast medium was injected at a rate of 0.5 mL/s under RTF; 30 s later, 2 mL of nonionic contrast medium was injected at a rate of 0.5 mL/s under DSA. Results: Thirty-six intravascular injections were detected for an overall rate of 11.4% using RTF, with 45 detected for a rate of 14.2% using DSA. The detection rate using DSA was statistically different from that using RTF (p=0.004). DSA detected a significantly higher proportion of intravascular injections at the cervical level than at the thoracic (p=0.009) and lumbar (p=0.011) levels. Conclusion: During TFEB at the whole spine level, DSA was better than RTF for the detection of intravascular injection. Special attention is advised for cervical TFEB, because of a significantly higher intravascular injection rate at this level than at other levels.

  • An improvement of light-extraction efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes was studied by using random-textured films (RTF). Device was made in a structure of RTF/glass/ITO/TPD/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al. RTF mold was made by spreading PDMS solution on a sandpaper. By pressing this mold on the glass substrate pre-coated with ZPU material, the RTF was obtained. From this study, there was an improvement of external quantum efficiency by about 30% in the device with the random-textured film (RTF 40) compared to that of the reference one.

  • 현재 전 세계적으로 환경보전이나 석탄자원 고갈 등의 문제로 인해 친환경 자동차의 개발이 매우 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있으며, 이에 따라 고정밀 3차원 도로 지도제작에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있는 추세이다. 이와 같은 목적의 달성을 위해 현재까지 MMS을 이용한 데이터 획득 방법이 가장 효과적인 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 항공 레이저 측량 데이터에 대한 처리를 목적으로 개발된 기본적인 RTF 필터 알고리즘을 MMS에 적합하도록 수정하여 적용하였다. 실험을 통해 도출된 정량적 분석 결과 지면은 99.71%, 비지면은 99.95%의 매우 높은 제작자 정확도를 나타내고 있으며, 도로 내에 존재하는 자동차, 가로수, 중앙분리대 등의 도로 장애물이 효과적으로 제거된 결과가 도출되었다. 이를 통해 실무 작업에 효과적인 적용 및 작업 효율성 향상을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

SBLOCA AND LOFW EXPERIMENTS IN A SCALED-DOWN IET FACILITY OF REX-10 REACTOR

  • This paper presents an experimental investigation of the small-break loss-of-coolant accident (SBLOCA) and the loss-of-feedwater accident (LOFW) in a scaled integral test facility of REX-10. REX-10 is a small integral-type PWR in which the coolant flow is driven by natural circulation, and the RCS is pressurized by the steam-gas pressurizer. The postulated accidents of REX-10 include the system depressurization initiated by the break of a nitrogen injection line connected to the steam-gas pressurizer and the complete loss of normal feedwater flow by the malfunction of control systems. The integral effect tests on SBLOCA and LOFW are conducted at the REX-10 Test Facility (RTF), a full-height full-pressure facility with reduced power by 1/50. The SBLOCA experiment is initiated by opening a flow passage out of the pressurizer vessel, and the LOFW experiment begins with the termination of the feedwater supply into the helical-coil steam generator. The experimental results reveal that the RTF can assure sufficient cooldown capability with the simulated PRHRS flow during these DBAs. In particular, the RTF exhibits faster pressurization during the LOFW test when employing the steam-gas pressurizer than the steam pressurizer. This experimental study can provide unique data to validate the thermal-hydraulic analysis code for REX-10.

상대전달함수의 역필터링을 이용한 자동차 환경에서의 마이크로폰 어레이 빔형성 기법 (A Microphone Array Beamforming Algorithm with Inverse Filtering of Relative Transfer Functions in Car Environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 상대전달함수의 역필터링 (inverse-filtering) 전처리를 수행한 후 MVDR (Minimum-Variance Distortionless Response) 빔형성기나 GSC (Generalized Sidelobe Canceller)를 수행하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 RTF-MVDR 및 TF-GSC 보다 적은 계산량을 갖으며 최적해 측면에서 동등함을 보였다. 제안된 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 자동차 환경에서 녹음된 음성 데이터베이스와 HTK를 이용하여 음성인식 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 제안된 방법은 기존의 방법과 대등한 성능을 갖거나 적은 성능저하를 보였다.

선박엔진의 Supply Unit용 SNCM420H의 절삭특성 (Cutting Characteristic of SNCM420H steel for Ship Engine Supply Unit)

  • SNCM420 steel is one of the cam shaft materials which are used in the supply unit for ship engine cam shaft. In this study the assessment of cutting behavior was conducted for the SNCM 420 steel and SM45C steel with various cutting conditions as depth of cut 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0mm and feed rate 0.1~0.3m/rev. The controlled chip was produced in feed rate 0.2, depth of cut 1.0 for SNCM420 and feed rate 0.2, depth of cut 2.0 for SM45C. There is no difference cutting force between SM45C and SNCM420 steels.

사람 난포액의 처리 방법과 Sample이 생쥐 수정란의 체외 발달율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Treatment and Samples of Human Follicular Fluid on Development In Vitro of Mouse Embryos)

  • The present studt was performed to investigate the effect of treatment and samples of human follicular fluid (hFF) on the development in vitro of mouse embryos. The two cell stage embryos collected at 40 h post-hCG injection were cultured in the modified human tubal fluid (m-RTF) containing 15% synthetic serum substitute (SSS) or human tubal fluid (hFF) for up to 3 days at $37^{\circ}C$ in 5% $CO_2$ incubator. Also the composition of hormone, total protein and protein pattern of hFF samples were analyzed. The developmental rate of mouse embryos developed to blastocyst were not significant difference in the m-RTF containing 15% hFF filtered with 0.22 or 0.8 ${\mu}m$ syringe filter, however, the embryos cultured in the m-RTF containing inactivated hFF were significantly (p<0.05) developed at the high rate to blastocyst than those containing fresh hFF and SSS. The in vitro developmental rate to blastocyst and hatched blastocyst in the m-RTF containing 15% hFF sample A (90.5 and 85.4%, respectively) and SSS (79.4 and 75.3, respectively) were significantly (p<0.05) increased, compared with hFF sample B (64.2 and 54.1 %, respectively). The hFF sample A tended to be higher concentration of LH, FSR, total protein and the ratio of progesterone/$E_2$ and lower concentration of $E_2$ and progesterone than the hFF sample B, but there were no differences in the protein pattern between the two hFF samples. The results of these study suggest that the addition of hFF to the culture medium enhances the development in vitro to blastocyst and hatched blastocyst, but the in vitro developmental rate of mouse embryos is different between hFF samples.

CASA 기반의 마이크간 전달함수 비 추정 알고리즘 (CASA Based Approach to Estimate Acoustic Transfer Function Ratios)

  • 본 논문은 비정상 (nonstationary)특성을 가지는 잡음환경에서 마이크간 전달함수 비 (RTF, Relative Transfer Function) 추정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 음성을 이용한 다양한 기기에 다중 마이크를 이용한 잡음제거 기술은 널리 사용되며, 이때 각 마이크간의 입력 신호 사이의 관계는 필수적으로 추정되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 OM-LSA(Optimally-Modified Log-Spectral Amplitude)기반의 추정 방식에 CASA (Computational Auditory Scene Analysis)를 접목시킨 방식을 제안한다. 제안한 방법의 성능 검증을 위하여 비정상 백색 잡음 (nonstationary white Gaussian noise) 환경에서 10명 화자 발음을 이용한 마이크간 전달함수 비 추정 성능 평가 실험을 수행하였다. 잡음 신호가 초당 8dB 증감하는 환경에서 SBF (Signal Blocking Factor)가 평균 2.65dB 개선됨을 확인하였다.

언어 모델 네트워크에 기반한 대어휘 연속 음성 인식 (Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition Based on Language Model Network)

  • 이 논문에서는 20,000 단어급의 대어휘를 대상으로 실시간 연속음성 인식을 수행할 수 있는 탐색 방법을 제안한다. 기본적인 탐색 방법은 토큰 전파 방식의 비터비 (Viterbi) 디코딩 알고리듬을 이용한 1 패스로 구성된다. 언어 모델 네트워크를 도입하여 다양한 언어 모델들을 일관된 탐색 공간으로 구성하도록 하였으며, 프루닝(pruning) 단계에서 살아남은 토큰들로부터 동적으로 탐색 공간을 재구성하였다. 용이한 후처리를 위해 워드그래프 및 N개의 최적 문장을 출력할 수 있도록 비터비 알고리듬을 수정하였다. 이렇게 구성된 디코더는 20,000 단어급 데이터 베이스에 대해 테스트하였으며 인식률 및 RTF측면에서 평가되었다.
