Species-specific variation of RPA-interacting protein (RIP) splice isoforms

  • Replication Protein A (RPA) is a single stranded DNA-binding protein involved in DNA metabolic activities such as replication, repair, and recombination. RPA-Interacting Protein $\alpha$ ($RIP{\alpha}$) was originally identified as a nuclear transporter of RPA in Xenopus. The human $RIP{\alpha}$ gene encodes several splice isoforms, of which $hRIP{\alpha}$ and $hRIP{\beta}$ are the major translation products in vivo. However, limited information is available about the alternative splicing of $RIP{\alpha}$ in eukaryotes, apart from that in humans. In this study, we examined the alternative splicing of RIP{\alpha} in the Drosophila, Xenopus, and mouse system. We showed that the number of splice isoforms of RIP{\alpha} was species-specific, and displayed a tendency to increase in higher eukaryotes. Moreover, a mouse ortholog of $hRIP{\alpha}$, $mRIP{\beta}2$, was not SUMOylated, in contrast to $hRIP{\alpha}$. Based on these results, we suggest that the $RIP{\alpha}$ gene gains more splice isoforms and additional modifications after molecular evolution.

An Incremental Rule Extraction Algorithm Based on Recursive Partition Averaging (재귀적 분할 평균에 기반한 점진적 규칙 추출 알고리즘)

  • One of the popular methods used for pattern classification is the MBR (Memory-Based Reasoning) algorithm. Since it simply computes distances between a test pattern and training patterns or hyperplanes stored in memory, and then assigns the class of the nearest training pattern, it cannot explain how the classification result is obtained. In order to overcome this problem, we propose an incremental teaming algorithm based on RPA (Recursive Partition Averaging) to extract IF-THEN rules that describe regularities inherent in training patterns. But rules generated by RPA eventually show an overfitting phenomenon, because they depend too strongly on the details of given training patterns. Also RPA produces more number of rules than necessary, due to over-partitioning of the pattern space. Consequently, we present the IREA (Incremental Rule Extraction Algorithm) that overcomes overfitting problem by removing useless conditions from rules and reduces the number of rules at the same time. We verify the performance of proposed algorithm using benchmark data sets from UCI Machine Learning Repository.

  • Digitalization is creating a variety of changes and innovations in our business environment. In manufacturing, robots have long been used for automation to innovate processing speed and quality. The RPA brings these innovations in manufacturing sites to the office space. The purpose of this study is to improve productivity for simple, repetitive tasks in these office space. For identify the potential of automation related to productivity improvement, I looked at the concept of business automation, and then simulated the five areas of business documentation works with agile methodology. In conclusion, I confirmed that productivity improvement of 97.3% in quality inspection and 31.7% in editorial design is possible, and examined the direction to apply to actual work. Based on these results, future study will explore the application of Intelligent Process Automation (IPA).

Study on Solutions to the Heavy Work of Safety Managers at Construction Sites (건설현장 안전관리자의 과중한 서류업무 해소방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a way to solve the excessive paperwork of safety managers in domestic construction sites, and to suggest a work efficiency plan that can shorten the time required to prevent safety accidents. First, a function to automatically generate a safety document and find the necessary data is applied using the RPA program. The second is document creation using mobile devices. After safety training, use the Moleil app to keep the training log. Third, to prevent omission of essential safety and health documents, the automatic warning function is activated according to the RPA submission time and sent to the person in charge by e-mail or text. Fourth, the function to find the latest data with high accuracy and speed through 'Google Cloud Search', a search function, was applied.

  • RPA(Remelt Power Analysis)and RC(Remote Control) System have been researched from former several decade for a various power rate system a efficent power service and rising of personal expenses, etc. But the existing RPA and RC System have disadventage which are complex and high cost to install an individual communication network of electricity company This paper proposed a new type of RPA and RC System using PLC with Internet. and made components for proposal system so we made the PLC modem, the digital watt-hour meter with a build in PLC modem and the softwere on server computer for establishing the proposal system. The bit rate of the proposed system is about 4800bps.

Analysis and Implication on the International Regulations related to Unmanned Aircraft -with emphasis on ICAO, U.S.A., Germany, Australia- (세계 무인항공기 운용 관련 규제 분석과 시사점 - ICAO, 미국, 독일, 호주를 중심으로 -)

  • In regard to the regulations related to the RPA(Remotely Piloted Aircraft), which is sometimes called in other countries as UA(Unmanned Aircraft), ICAO stipulates the regulations in the 'RPAS manual (2015)' in detail based on the 'Chicago Convention' in 1944, and enacts provisions for the Rules of UAS or RPAS. Other contries stipulates them such as the Federal Airline Rules (14 CFR), Public Law (112-95) in the United States, the Air Transport Act, Air Transport Order, Air Transport Authorization Order (through revision in "Regulations to operating Rules on unmanned aerial System") based on EASA Regulation (EC) No.216/2008 in the case of unmanned aircaft under 150kg in Germany, and Civil Aviation Act (CAA 1998), Civil Aviation Act 101 (CASR Part 101) in Australia. Commonly, these laws exclude the model aircraft for leisure purpose and require pilots on the ground, not onboard aricraft, capable of controlling RPA. The laws also require that all managements necessary to operate RPA and pilots safely and efficiently under the structure of the unmanned aircraft system within the scope of the regulations. Each country classifies the RPA as an aircraft less than 25kg. Australia and Germany further break down the RPA at a lower weight. ICAO stipulates all general aviation operations, including commercial operation, in accordance with Annex 6 of the Chicago Convention, and it also applies to RPAs operations. However, passenger transportation using RPAs is excluded. If the operational scope of the RPAs includes the airspace of another country, the special permission of the relevant country shall be required 7 days before the flight date with detail flight plan submitted. In accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation 107 in the United States, a small non-leisure RPA may be operated within line-of-sight of a responsible navigator or observer during the day in the speed range up to 161 km/hr (87 knots) and to the height up to 122 m (400 ft) from surface or water. RPA must yield flight path to other aircraft, and is prohibited to load dangerous materials or to operate more than two RPAs at the same time. In Germany, the regulations on UAS except for leisure and sports provide duty to avoidance of airborne collisions and other provisions related to ground safety and individual privacy. Although commercial UAS of 5 kg or less can be freely operated without approval by relaxing the existing regulatory requirements, all the UAS regardless of the weight must be operated below an altitude of 100 meters with continuous monitoring and pilot control. Australia was the first country to regulate unmanned aircraft in 2001, and its regulations have impacts on the unmanned aircraft laws of ICAO, FAA, and EASA. In order to improve the utiliity of unmanned aircraft which is considered to be low risk, the regulation conditions were relaxed through the revision in 2016 by adding the concept "Excluded RPA". In the case of excluded RPA, it can be operated without special permission even for commercial purpose. Furthermore, disscussions on a new standard manual is being conducted for further flexibility of the current regulations.

The Characteristics of Driving Parameters and CO2 Emissions of Light-Duty Vehicles in Real-Driving Conditions at Urban Area in Seoul (서울 도심의 실제 도로 주행 조건에서 소형자동차의 주행인자와 CO2 배출 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, correlations between driving parameters and $CO_2$ of light-duty vehicles have been analyzed. Three test vehicles equipped with PEMS (Portable Emission Measurement System) have been driven in real-road in urban areas of Seoul. Averaged vehicle speed, RPA(Relative Positive Acceleration) and stop ratio have been selected as main driving parameters. The analysis have been conducted in interrupted and uninterrupted road types. Averaged values in various driving conditions have been calculated with distance based moving averaging window method. The multiple linear regression method have been applied to account for correlation between driving parameters and $CO_2$ emissions. This approach has shown statistically that $CO_2$ emission per distance (g/km) have tendencies to be increased as decreased averaged vehicle speed and increased RPA and stop ratio. Compared with uninterrupted traffic, interrupted traffic have shown the lower vehicle speed and the higher RPA and stop ratio. These characteristics of driving parameters in interrupted traffic should cause the higher $CO_2$ emission per distance.

  • Rice bacterial leaf blight (BLB) by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is considered to be one of the major rice diseases steadily occurring around the rice-producing countries. In this study, we developed a recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) assay for the rapid, convenient and specific diagnosis of Xoo by targeting Xoo-specific transposase A gene. As the target gene can be amplified in 10 min without DNA extraction process and special equipment for temperature control, RPA for BLB can be useful and practical component for on-site diagnosis.

  • 미지의 패턴을 분류하기 위해서 사용되는 메모리 기반 학습 기법은 만족할만한 분류 성능을 보여주고 있다. 하지만 메모리 기반 학습기법은 단순히 패턴과 메모리에 저장된 예제들 간의 거리를 기준으로 분류하므로, 패턴을 분류하는 처리과정을 설명할 수 없다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RPA(Recursive Partition Averaging) 기법을 이용하여 패턴을 분류하는 과정을 설명할 수 있는 규칙 추출 알고리즘과 또한 일반화 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 규칙의 조건을 확장하는 알고리즘을 제안한다.
