수직 이송계의 최적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Design of Perpendicular Guideway Mechanism)

  • Perpendicular guideway mechanism has a different behavior with horizontal guideway mechanism due to the slider weight. So, to decrease its weight effect, counter balances such as weight type and hydraulic cylinder type are used. But it can also make another motion behavior by weight rate of slider and counter balance, its connected position. Therefore, it is necessary to find design parameters and analyze their effect. This paper dealt with the optimal design of perpendicular guideway mechanism. For analysis, the theoretic model as same as real machine tool and sib plate to adjust the clearance was used. Rotational angle and displacement of slider, pressure distribution, friction distribution were calculated. Stick slip, intermittent motion of slider according to friction change was adapted to the perpendicular guideway mechanism.

  • In general, the electric motor for driving the centrifuge of Decanter type is selected based on the power(starting power) necessary to start the bowl and the screw shaft. However the operation cost of the machine is dependent on the power needed at a steadily operating condition, including the power against the bearing friction and that for the sludge removal. In this paper, the formulation for the sludge-removal power is presented. Sample calculation for a specific design shows that the sludge-removal power is increased with the friction coefficient. It also reveals that the power is mainly dependent on the length of the screw blade rather than the beach angle. Further it is shown that the power increases in square of the rotational speed of the machine.

  • It was investigated that two rods of aluminum can be welded by hot extru-pressure welding method with stepped welding dies, and that the welding pressure and metal flow on the welding surface were analyzed by computer simulation according to the stepped shapes of welding dies. It was known by computer simulation that welding pressure on the welding section of rods welded using stepped welding dies could be higher than the welding pressure of aluminum rods without using stepped welding die. And it was known by experiments that two rods of aluminum can be welded on the end sections by hot extru-pressure welding method using stepped welding dies without relative rotational movement of contacted aluminum rods in the case of friction welding of rods.

  • The main objective of the research is to Propose an algorithm that to estimate the screwing torque from parameters of DC motor current without using any stain gage and torque cell. The auto screw drive system is divided into two parts, one is the DC motor ind the other is mechanical part in which the friction torque and damping ratio are a function of rotational of spindle electro motive force constant. The torque is estimated from the friction torque. The research is concerned with applying the method to an auto screw drive and the advantages and limitations are also discussed in this paper.

  • Dynamic responses of a multi-span simply supported bridge are examined under seismic excitations considering damage of bearings. An idealized mechanical model which can consider components such as pounding, friction at the supports, abutment-soil interaction, rotational and translational motions of foundations, and the nonlinear pier motions, is developed to analyze the effects due to damage of bearings. It is assumed that the bearing's response after failure can be expressed with a sliding model with a friction coefficient between the superstructure and the pier top. It is found that the global seismic behaviors are significantly influenced by the damage of bearings and the damage of bearings may lead to unseating failure at unpredicted supports. Therefore, It can be concluded that detailed seismic response analyses of bridge systems considering damage of bearings is required for the purpose of the seismic safety evaluation.

회전하는 회전체 주위의 축대칭 두꺼운 난류경계층 연구 (Axisymmetric Thick Turbulent Boundary Layer Around a Rotating Body of Revolution)

  • Axisymmetric turbulent thick boundary layers on a rotating body of revolution are calculated numerically in the paper. Richardson number is introduced to the mixing length to take account of swirl effects on Reynolds stresses. Interactions of the boundary layer and the external potential flow are included by adding the displacement thickness of boundary layers on the original body. Pressure distributions on the body surface are estimated by integrating normal momentum equation across the boundary layer. A model is designed and tested in the wind tunnel. Mean velocities are measured. Through the present study, swirl effects on the thick axisymmetric boundary layer development are considerable in comparison with those of non-totating cases. Rotational motion generally increase boundary layer thickness, axial skin friction coefficients, and form drags. Circumferential flow can be reversed to induce negative skin friction when the section area is reduced.

  • Water-lubrication ball bearings are required to install in aqueous medium where water is used as coolant or working fluid. However water-lubricated frictional characteristics of stainless steel ball bearing is not will known compared to oil-lubricated frictional characteristics. Furthermore study on friction at high temperature is rare because bearing maintenance strategy for water-lubricated or chemicals-lubricated bearings of equipment is mostly based on change of failed bearings and parts. Ball bearings and ball screws are used to transmit power in the control rod drive mechanism for an integral reactor and are lubricated with high temperature and high pressure chemically-controlled water. Bearings and power transmitting mechanical elements for a nuclear reactor require high reliability and high performance during estimated lifetime, and their performance should be verified. In this paper, experimental research results of frictional characteristics of water-lubricated ball bearing are reported.

  • This paper describes the evaluation of a force-reflecting interface with ultrasonic motors(USMs). The force-reflecting interface allows a human to feel object within virtual environment. To effectively display the mechanical impedance of the human hand we need a haptic device with specific characteristics, such as low inertia, almost zero friction and very high stiffness. USMs have attracted considerable attention as the actuator satisfied these conditions. USMs combine features such as high driving torque at low rotational speed, high holding torque and fast response therefore we studied two degree of freedom force-reflecting haptic system.

  • Owing to high oil prices and environmental issues, the automobile industry has conducted considerable research and made large investments to manufacture a high-efficiency automobiles. In the case of automobile wheels in which a lightweight material is used to increase the fuel efficiency a mold is used to increase the production efficiency; however, the use of the molding method for this purpose is very expensive. Therefore an automobile wheel consists of two parts. In this study a two-piece automobile wheel is manufactured by the friction stir welding(FSW) of Al6061-T6 to reduce the manufacturing cost and process complexity. The FSW welding tool geometry and rotational speed, and the feed rate are key factors that significantly affect the weld strength. Therefore tensile tests were conducted on specimens produced using various welding conditions, and the optimal FSW welding conditions were applied to manufacture aluminum wheels. To ensure reliability, prototype aluminum wheels were manufactured and their mechanical reliability and safety were evaluated using a durability test, fatigue durability test, and impact test. Through this study, aluminum wheel production was made possible using the FSW method.
