This study intended to examine and analyze current status of CD-ROM use in reference and information service in major university libraries. 66 university libraries with holdings of over 200,000 were selected throughout the country, and questionnaires were sent out by mail for data collection. Current status of CD-ROM use, some issues and problems on CD-ROM searching by reference librarians and users, and future trends of CD-ROM use were examined. Few suggestions were made for the effective CD-ROM use in reference and information service.

This is a practical study on acquisition and efficiently use of CD-ROM databases of diverse subject areas which in recent has rapidly increased in quantity. This study was concentrated on the proposition of production CD-ROM database and intended to give effective ideas of its design. I analysed and compared several CD-ROM databases in aspects of their menu configuration and information retrieval technics, so that may present a rational norm.

The EV ROM, a joint reservoir operation model for flood control that accounts for the downstream flow condition, has been introduced in the preceding article (Shin et al, 2000). A joint reservoir operation model computer program for the Geum river basin, developed by FORTRAN Power Station 4.0 using the EV ROM, is hereby presented. Three case studies of flood control by joint operation of the Yongdam and Daechung Multipurpose Dams in the Geum river basin revealed that the performance of the EV ROM was superior to the existing Rigid ROM and Technical ROM. This is because the EV ROM can account for the downstream flow condition as well as the upstream inflow and the reservoir water level. In order to apply for various floods events in the future, consistent improvement of the developed EV ROM and efforts for more accurate rainfall prediction are required.

This paper intends to introduce various bibliographic CD-ROM database products which can be employed in library environments instead of practising online bibliographic searching. However, impacts and future prospectives of CD-ROM searching on online bibliographic searching are explored. Possible applicable areas of CD-ROM technologies in Korean library setting are recommended.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of cervical ROM and muscle endurance on cervical joint mobilization of normal adults. Both joint mobilization group(n=20) and control group(n=20) were measured an cervical ROM and muscle endurance time by CROM and stop watch at pre-test, post-test in 1 weeks, post-test in 2 weeks and post-test in 3 weeks. The flexion ROM, extension ROM and muscle endurance of the joint mobilization group were significantly different among the experimental period (p<.05). The Correlation of muscle endurance and extension ROM is significantly Correlation (p<.05). In conclusion, we were found that cervical joint mobilization could increase cervical ROM and muscle endurance and Correlation of muscle endurance and extension ROM.
