  • 본 논문에서는 변압기의 이상 신호 데이터를 원거리에서 축적하기 위한 이상 신호 진단 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 원격으로 변압기의 이상 신호를 수집하여 변압기의 이상을 알아낼 수 있다. 이 시스템은 상용된 통신 모듈의 느린 통신 속도를 고려하여 이상 신호를 RMS-DC 값으로 변환하는 작업을 추가하였다.

  • For the condition monitoring of the journal bearing in rotating machinery, a system for their diagnosis by acoustic emission(AE) was developed. AE has been used to detect abnormal conditions in the bearing system. It was found from the field application study as well as the laboratory experiment using a simulated journal bearing system that AE RMS voltage was the most efficient parameter for the purpose of current study. Based on the above results, algorithms and judgement criteria for the diagnosis system was established. The system is composed of four parts as follows: the sensing part including AE sensor and preamplifier, the signal processing part for RMS-to-DC conversion to measure AE ms voltage, the interface part for transferring RMS voltage data into PC using A/D converter, and the software part including the graphic display of bearing conditions and the diagnosis program.

Study on the Relationship Between Emission Signals and Weld Defect for In-Process Monitoring in CO2 Laser Welding of Zn-Coated Steel (아연코팅 강판의 CO2 레이저용접시 인프로세스 모니터링을 위한 측정신호와 용접결함과의 관련성 연구)

  • In this study, the plasma induced by $CO_2$ laser lap welding of 6t Zn coated steel used for ship building was measured using photodiodes and a microphone. Then, the welding phenomenon with gap clearance of lap joint was compared with RMS-treated signal. Thus, we found that intensity of the RMS-treated signal increased with Zn vaporization; further, the presence of defects results in rapid variations with the RMS value as a function of lap-joint parameters. Besides, the FFT value of the raw signal with variations of changing welding parameters was calculated, and then the calculated FFT frequency value was set as the bandwidth of digital filter for a more accurate in-process monitoring. The RMS values were acquired by filtering the raw signal. By matching the weld beads and the calculated RMS values, we confirmed that there is a strong relationship between the signals and the defects.

  • In this paper, we propose the pattern classification algorithm of recognizing wrist movements based on electromyogram(EMG) to raise the recognition rate. We consider 30 characteristics of EMG signals wirh the root mean square(RMS) and the difference absolute standard deviation value(DASDV) for the extraction of precise features from EMG signals. To get the groups of each wrist movement, we estimated 2-dimension features. On this basis, we divide each group into two parts with mean to compare and promote the recognition rate of pattern classification effectively. For the motion classification based on EMG, the k-nearest neighbor(k-NN) is used. In this paper, the recognition rate is 92.59% and 0.84% higher than the study before.

  • This paper presents a wide dynamic range radio-frequency (RF) root-mean-square (RMS) power detector using an automatic gain control (AGC) loop. The AGC loop consists of a variable gain amplifier (VGA), RMS conversion block and gain control block. The VGA exploits dB-linear gain characteristic of the cascade VGA. The proposed circuit utilizes full-wave squaring and generates a DC voltage proportional to the RMS of an input RF signal. The proposed RMS power detector operates from 500MHz to 5GHz. The detecting input signal range is from 0 dBm to -70 dBm or more with a conversion gain of -4.53 mV/dBm. The proposed RMS power detector is designed in a 65-nm 1.2-V CMOS process, and dissipates a power of 5 mW. The total active area is $0.0097mm^2$.

  • This paper investigates the relationship between cutting conditions and Acoustic Emission(AE) signals; $AE_{avg}$, $AE_{rms}$, $AE_{mode}$$AE_{avg}$ and $AE_{rms}$ are increased as the increasing of cutting velocity and depth of cut respectively.   • With the advance of precision technique, the optical system is more precise and complex and the machining method of optical element which is composed of micro-grooves is developed. Especially, the method of micro-grooving using diamond tool is used widely owing to many merit, but has problems of damage of surface roughness due to tool wear and tool fracture. This paper deals with state monitoring using AE RMS in the micro-grooving. The change of AE RMS is very small with increment of cutting velocity and depth of cut. In spite of constance magnitude of principal force in machining using diamond tool of tool wear and tool fracture, AE RMS is highly fluctuated. Because changing of cutting state has relevance to surface roughness profile, surface toughness profile is expected using AE RMS.

  • Today, implementation of the defect detection in laser welding has been researched for a long time, but most studies have been made around thin plate within $1{\sim}3mm^t$. Therefore, this study was measured and analyzed light emission signals of the induced plasma in $CO_2$ laser lap welding of $6mm^t$ Zn primer-coated steel, and based on this analysis, research made an investigation into possibility of monitoring in thick plate welding. It was been analyzing the measured signals by RMS and FFT processing, as a results, we were able to confirm definite difference of two signals between humping bead and sound bead. Thus, possibility of real time monitoring in $CO_2$ laser lap welding verified experimentally.

  • Synchronization of the clock at the ATM receiving terminal is studied. The technique analyzed here has been adapted by ITU-T as the standard for ATM timing recovery. This paper presents analysis of SRTS method itself and jitter in SRTS. The power pectrum and rms amplitude of SRTS jitter are calculated. The calculated average rms value for T1 1.544MHz source signal is 32.63ns and 0.15ns for E4 139.264MHz signal.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the envelope correlation of wideband signals modulated on two separate subcarriers in a Nakagami-Rice fading channel with exponential power delay profile. The results show that the envelope correlation of resolvable paths is implicated by the ratio of the specular wave power to the mean multipath power as well as the signal bandwidth and the rms delay spread of the multipath waves.
