  • The new architecture for the stabilization of an adaptive linearizer using the RLS algorithm is presented. The delay lock loop is apl)lied to compensate the feedback loop delay of the nonlinear amplifier output, and the Yang's algorithm is used to mitigate the numerical unstability of the RLS algorithm. This method is applied to the linearizer using the polynomial predistorter, and it's efficacy is verified by the simulation of the proposed structure.

  • In this paper, a novel design method of variable motor inertia in Induction motor drive system is proposed. The inertia of a load and a motor are estimated by using RLS (Recursive Least Square) algorithm. The speed controller is designed by Kharitonov theory of motor. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified with simulation and experiment results.

  • In this paper, an estimation scheme based on an augmented sigma-point Kalman filter to estimate the state of charge (SOC) of the battery is presented, where the battery parameters of the series resistance ($R_o$), diffusion capacitance ($C_1$) and resistance ($R_1$) are also estimated through the recursive least squares (RLS) for better accuracy of the SOC. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.

  • In this paper, we propose the AWLS/MFT (Adaptive Weighed Least Squares/ Modulation Function Technique) devised by A. E. Pearson et al. for the transfer function estimation of a modal system and investigate the performance of several algorithms, the Gram matrix method, a Luenberger Observer (LO), Least Squares (LS), and Recursive Least Squares (RLS), for the estimation of initial conditions. With the benefit of the Modulation Function Technique (MFT), we can separate the estimation problem into two phases: the transfer function parameters are estimated in the first phase, and the initial conditions are estimated in the second phase. The LO method produces excellent IC estimates in the noise free case, but the other three methods show better performance in the noisy case. Finally, we compared our result with the Prony based method. In the noisy case, the AWLS and one of the three methods - Gram matrix, LS, and RLS- show better performance in the output Signal to Error Ratio (SER) aspect than the Prony based method under the same simulation conditions.

  • Due to the merits that only a small amount of computation is needed for solutions and stochastic policies can be handled explicitly, the actor-critic algorithm, which is a class of reinforcement learning methods, has recently attracted a lot of interests in the area of artificial intelligence. The actor-critic network composes of tile actor network for selecting control inputs and the critic network for estimating value functions, and in its training stage, the actor and critic networks take the strategy, of changing their parameters adaptively in order to select excellent control inputs and yield accurate approximation for value functions as fast as possible. In this paper, we consider a new actor-critic algorithm employing an RLS(Recursive Least Square) method for critic learning, and policy gradients for actor learning. The applicability of the considered algorithm is illustrated with experiments on the two linked robot arm.

  • In the present paper some fundamentals about exceeding the guard interval of an OFDM system is going to discuss and will introduce method to cancel a ISI and ICI effects. In this paper, the performance characteristics of robust OFDM receiving system algorithm that is composed of a channel estimator using recursive least square(RLS) algorithm in time domain and of a ISI and ICI replica and subtracter using the channel coefficients are presented. By computer simulation method, the effect of suppression of ISI and ICI is demonstrated and compared the BER performance with a conventional 1-tap equalized system. Especially the presented scheme improves the BER performance at low SNRs more or so compared with the conventional one-tap equalized receiving configuration.

[Ru(phen)2(dppz)]2+ Assemble on the Surface of the SDS Micelle and Its Application for the Determination of DNA

  • The solution of $[Ru(phen)_2(dppz)]^{2+}$ and SDS has high Resonance Light Scattering (RLS) signals due to $[Ru(phen)_2(dppz)]^{2+}$ assemble on the surface of the SDS micelle. Because of the high affinity ($KB\geq10^6\;L\;mol^{-1}$) between $[Ru(phen)_2(dppz)]^{2+}$ and DNA, the adding of DNA in the solution of $[Ru(phen)_2(dppz)]^{2+}$-SDS makes the dissociation of $[Ru(phen)_2(dppz)]^{2+}$-SDS, and results in decreasing of the RLS signals and increasing of the absorbance. Based on this, a novel method is proposed for DNA assay. Under optimum condition, good linear relationship was obtained within the concentration range of 0.018-1.26 $\mu g\;mL^{-1}$, the linear equation is $I_{RLS}$ = 504.8-348.8 c (c: $\mu g\;mL^{-1}$) and the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.9992. The detect limit for calf thymus DNA is 8.6 ng $mL^{-1}$. The proposed method was successful applied to determine the extracted colibacillus plasmid DNA.

  • This paper proposes a frequency transfer function synthesis for approximating a high-order model with resonance to a low-order model in the frequency domain. The presented model approximation method is based on minimizing the error function weighted by the numerator polynomial of approximated models, which is used of the RLS(Recursive Least Square) technique to estimate the coefficient vector of approximated models. The proposed method provides better fitting in a low frequency and peak resonance. And an example is given to illustrate feasibilities of the suggested schemes.

  • Recently, noise map is used widely by synthetic estimation method for noise reduction. For correct manufacture of noise map, selection of suitable noise prediction method is important. This study compares XPS31-133 with CRTN, RLS90 which are widely used by foreign commercial noise maps.
