Vehicle Color Recognition Using Neural-Network (신경회로망을 이용한 차량의 색상 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose the method the vehicle color recognizing in the image including a vehicle. In an image, the color feature vector of a vehicle is extracted and by using the backpropagation learning algorithm, that is the multi-layer perceptron, the recognized vehicle color. By using the RGB and HSI color model the feature vector used as the input of the backpropagation learning algorithm is the feature of the color used as the input of the neural network. The color of a vehicle recognizes as the white, the silver color, the black, the red, the yellow, the blue, and the green among the color of the vehicle most very much found out as 7 colors. By using the image including a vehicle for the performance evaluation of the method proposing, the color recognition performance was experimented.

Predicting Unseen Object Pose with an Adaptive Depth Estimator (적응형 깊이 추정기를 이용한 미지 물체의 자세 예측)

  • Accurate pose prediction of objects in 3D space is an important visual recognition technique widely used in many applications such as scene understanding in both indoor and outdoor environments, robotic object manipulation, autonomous driving, and augmented reality. Most previous works for object pose estimation have the limitation that they require an exact 3D CAD model for each object. Unlike such previous works, this paper proposes a novel neural network model that can predict the poses of unknown objects based on only their RGB color images without the corresponding 3D CAD models. The proposed model can obtain depth maps required for unknown object pose prediction by using an adaptive depth estimator, AdaBins,. In this paper, we evaluate the usefulness and the performance of the proposed model through experiments using benchmark datasets.

Comparison between Colour Intensity of Tongue Body and That of Tongue Coat under the Ultraviolet Light in RGB system of Peeling Tongue Coat Image (RGB 컬러모델에서 자외선 조명하 박락태(剝落苔)의 설태와 설질 사이의 색 강도 차이에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study is to compare the colour intensity of tongue body and that of tongue coat under the visible light and the ultraviolet light. Methods: We selected 7 subjects with completely or partially peeled tongue coat among the recruited 94 adults for the experiment. We took each tongue picture under the visible light and the ultraviolet light (315-400 nm) and then extracted sample images from the tongue body and tongue coat regions. Mean, median and mode of colour intensity from the sample images were calculated in 256 RGB system. Results: The green and the blue colour intensities of the tongue coats were significantly higher than those of the tongue bodies under the visible light. In all channels, the red, green and blue, the colour intensities of the tongue coats were significantly higher than those of the tongue bodies under the ultraviolet light. The colour differences between tongue coats and tongue bodies under the ultraviolet light were significantly higher than the colour differences under the visible light. Especially the colour difference under the ultraviolet light was highest in the green channel. Conclusions: We suggested that green colour image of the RGB system taken under the ultraviolet light could be used for more easy separating tongue coat region from tongue body.

Nucleus Segmentation and Recognition of Uterine Cervical Pop-Smears using Region Growing Technique and Backpropagation Algorithm (영역 확장 기법과 오류 역전파 알고리즘을 이용한 자궁경부 세포진 영역 분할 및 인식)

  • The classification of the background and cell areas is very important research area because of the ambiguous boundary. In this paper, the region of cell is extracted from an image of uterine cervical cytodiagnosis using the region growing method that increases the region of interest based on similarity between pixels. Segmented image from background and cell areas is binarized using a threshold value. And then 8-directional tracking algorithm for contour lines is applied to extract the cell area. First, the extracted nucleus is transformed to RGB color that is the original image. Second, the K-means clustering algorithm is employed to classify RGB pixels to the R, G, and B channels, respectively. Third, the Hue information of nucleus is extracted from the HSI models that is the transformation of the clustering values in R, G, and B channels. The backpropagation algorithm is employed to classify and identify the normal or abnormal nucleus.

  • 자궁 경부 세포진 영상의 핵 영역 분할은 자궁 경부암 자동화 검색 시스템의 가장 어렵고도 중요한 분야로 알려져 있다. 자궁 경부 세포진 영상은 배경과 세포의 영역이 확실히 구분되지 않는 경우가 많기 때문에 이들을 확실히 구분하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 자궁 경부 세포진 영상에서 Region growing 기법을 적용하여 세포 영상을 분할한다. Region growing 기법은 화소간의 유사도를 측정하여 영역을 확장하여 분할하는 방법이다. 세포와 배경이 분할된 영상을 일정 임계값을 이용하여 영상을 이진화 한 후, 8방향 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 이용해 세포 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 세포 영역을 원 영상인 RGB 컬러로 변환한 후에 K-means 알고리즘을 적용하여 각 세포 영역의 RGB 화소를 R, G, B 채널로 각각 분리하여 클러스터링한다. 클러스터링된 각각의 R, G, B 채널의 클러스터 값을 이용하여 HSI 모델로 변환시킨 후에 세포핵 영역의 Hue 정보를 추출한다. 추출된 세포핵의 특징을 오류 역전파 알고리즘을 적용하여 정상 세포와 비정상 세포를 분류하고 인식한다.

  • This paper suggests techniques to enhance coding time which is a problem in traditional fractal compression and to improve fidelity of reconstructed images by determining fractal coefficient through adaptive selection of block approximation formula. First, to reduce coding time, we construct a linear list of domain blocks of which characteristics is given by their luminance and variance and then we control block searching time according to the first permissible threshold value. Next, when employing three-level block partition, if a range block of minimum partition level cannot find a domain block which has a satisfying approximation error, There applied to 24-bpp color image compression and image techniques. The result did not occur a loss in the image quality of the image when using the encoding method, such as almost to the color in the YIQ image compression rate and image quality, such as RGB images and showed good.

  • 본 논문은 움직임 추정기법 중의 하나인 차영상 분석 기법을 기반으로한 이동 물체 추적 시스템을 제안한다. 실세계와 같은 복잡한 환경에서의 적응성을 높이기 위해 동적인 배경 추출 방법을 제안하고, 이를 바탕으로한 차영상 분석 기법을 이용하여 이동 물체를 탐지한 후 개선된 인공신경망의 경쟁학습 모델인 ART2 학습알고리즘을 이용하여 추적한다. 또한 이동 물체의 평가도 값이 아닌 RGB 컬러정보를 이용한 물체의 특징 벡터를 구한다. 이러한 특징 벡터들은 이동 물체의 모양이나 명암의 변화를 반영한다. 이러한 정보의 변화에 적응성을 갖게 하기위해 개선된 ART2를 사용한다. 그리고 실제 환경에서 보행자를 탐지, 추적하는 실험 결과 Gray 영상보다 정확한 추적이 가능하였다.

Diagnosis of Nitrogen Content in the Leaves of Apple Tree Using Spectral Imagery (분광 영상을 이용한 사과나무 잎의 질소 영양 상태 진단)

  • The objective of this study was to estimated nitrogen content and chlorophyll using RGB, Hyperspectral sensors to diagnose of nitrogen nutrition in apple tree leaves. Spectral data were acquired through image processing after shooting with high resolution RGB and hyperspectral sensor for two-year-old 'Hongro/M.9' apple. Growth data measured chlorophyll and leaf nitrogen content (LNC) immediately after shooting. The growth model was developed by using regression analysis (simple, multi, partial least squared) with growth data (chlorophyll, LNC) and spectral data (SPAD meter, color vegetation index, wavelength). As a result, chlorophyll and LNC showed a statistically significant difference according to nitrogen fertilizer level regardless of date. Leaf color became pale as the nutrients in the leaf were transferred to the fruit as over time. RGB sensor showed a statistically significant difference at the red wavelength regardless of the date. Also hyperspectral sensor showed a spectral difference depend on nitrogen fertilizer level for non-visible wavelength than visible wavelength at June 10th and July 14th. The estimation model performance of chlorophyll, LNC showed Partial least squared regression using hyperspectral data better than Simple and multiple linear regression using RGB data (Chlorophyll R2: 81%, LNC: 81%). The reason is that hyperspectral sensor has a narrow Full Half at Width Maximum (FWHM) and broad wavelength range (400-1,000 nm), so it is thought that the spectral analysis of crop was possible due to stress cause by nitrogen deficiency. In future study, it is thought that it will contribute to development of high quality and stable fruit production technology by diagnosis model of physiology and pest for all growth stage of tree using hyperspectral imagery.

Implementation of Finger-Gesture Game Controller using CAMShift and Double Circle Tracing Method (CAMShift와 이중 원형 추적법을 이용한 손 동작 게임 컨트롤러 구현)

  • A finger-gesture game controller using the single camera is implemented in this paper, which is based on the recognition of the number of fingers and the index finger moving direction. Proposed method uses the CAMShift algorithm to trace the end-point of index finger effectively. The number of finger is recognized by using a double circle tracing method. Then, HSI color mode transformation is performed for the CAMShift algorithm, and YCbCr color model is used in the double circle tracing method. Also, all processing tasks are implemented by using the Intel OpenCV library and C++ language. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we developed a shooting game simulator and validated the proposed method. The proposed method showed the average recognition ratio of more than 90% for each of the game command-mode.

The Lines Extraction and Analysis of The Palm using Morphological Information of The Hand and Contour Tracking Method (손의 형태학적 정보와 윤곽선 추적 기법을 이용한 손금 추출 및 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to extract palm lines and read it with simple techniques from one photo. We use morphological information and 8-directional contour tracking algorithm. From the digitalized image, we transform original RGB information to YCbCr color model which is less sensitive to the brightness information. The palm region is extracted by simple threshold as Y:65~255, Cb:25~255, Cr:130~255 of skin color. Noise removal process is then followed with morphological information of the palm such that the palm area has more than quarter of the pixels and the rate of width vs height is more than 2:1 and 8-directional contour tracking algorithm. Then, the stretching algorithm and Sobel mask are applied to extract edges. Another morphological information that the meaningful edges(palm lines) have between 10 and 20 pixels is used to exclude noise edges and boundary lines of the hand from block binarized image. Main palm lines are extracted then by labeling method. This algorithm is quite effective even reading the palm from a photographed by a mobile phone, which suggests that this method could be used in various applications.
