Performance Evaluation of Motorcycle's Anti-theft Device using NFC Authentication and Solenoid Valve (NFC 보안인증과 솔레노이드 밸브를 이용한 이륜차 이동제한장치 성능평가)

  • This paper proposes a method for the immobilization of motorbike brakes in conjunction with near-field communication (NFC) technology in order to meet the increasing demand for security and convenience of motorbike drivers. We thought about the concept of wireless key, NFC security devices and automatic solenoid valve for setting the lock and unlock module. This paper propose the design and development of an innovative anti-theft alarm system for motorcycles using NFC smart devices based on RFID system, the basis of IoT and AES(advanced encryption standard) encryption Algorithm. The design concept is based on NFC communication strategy between the vehicle and owner. To do this concept, we designed motorcycle smart key system with general-purpose NFC system and the automatic solenoid valve for setting the lock and unlock module. First, we designed control unit and NFC card reader for motorcycle smart key system. Then we propose an AES encryption algorithm and prove that the motorcycle key system is controllable by showing the result of implementing and testing, after installing.

Data Acquisition Technology (DAT) Selection Algorithm for Automated Progress Measurement and Management (진도관리 자동화를 위한 자료수집기술(DAT) 선정 방법)

  • Progress measurement provides project participants with valuable information in terms of 'current status', 'corrective countermeasure', and 'forecast of future risks'. However, the managerial effort (or workload) required to acquire and maintain detailed progress data has been the major barrier to practical implementation. Even though recent efforts in utilizing data acquisition technologies (DATs) have actively attempted to automate the progress measurement process, previous DAT research has only been focused on limited construction tasks or selected technologies. This paper proposes a DAT selection algorithm that automatically assign an appropriate DAT for every commodity item for an entire constriction project. Five different criteria were identified and developed in order to comprehend specific requirements for automating the progress measurement of each commodity group. A case-study and also a survey from practitioners were conducted in order to validate the proposed methodology.

An Application of Safety Management for Tunnel Construction Using RTLS Technology (RTLS기술을 이용한 터널공사현장의 실시간 안전관리 적용방안)

  • Recently, construction site scale has been growing larger along with the growth of national economy. As construction market requires time reduction, cost saving, and improving quality, a cutting-edge technology applied research has been gradually studied for more efficient project management. In particular, the Real Time Location System (RTLS) technology, a real-time location tracking system of construction resources, can be effectively used in safety management. This technology has been studied and applied in various industries including architectural, marine, urban, and other industries. However, although tunnel construction in civil engineering has a narrow space and many safety risks, there are not researched about this content. Therefore, this study proposes an advanced safety management model for tunnel construction using the RTLS technology and a measurement method of the feasibility of this model in the construction site.

The Design and Implementation of Improved Anti-Collision Algorithm for Vehicle User Authentication System (차량 사용자 인증 시스템을 위한 향상된 충돌 방지 알고리즘의 설계 및 구현)

  • Because many of the FOB key, anti-collision algorithm for a seamless multi-access is applied to the smart-key system. In this paper, we have designed and implemented improved anti-collision algorithm that dramatically reduces the communication response time required in the user authentication process immediately after by dynamically changing the order in which the request of the user ID as the user ID on immediately before in the smart key system for vehicles that use many of the FOB key. In order to evaluate the performance of the system the improved anti-collision algorithm is applied, we show the behavior of the algorithm implemented in the state actually mounted on the vehicle and verify that communication response time required for many of the FOB key was reduced by about 33% compared to existing algorithms.

Context-Aware Steel-Plate Piling Process System For Improving the Ship-Building Process (선박 건조공정 개선을 위한 상황인지 컴퓨팅 기반의 강재적치처리시스템)

  • A gigantic ship is constructed by assembling various types of ship blocks, each block being made by cutting and piecing the steel-plates together. The steel-plate piling process as the initial stage of ship construction sorts and manages the steel-plates according to the ship blocks that the steel-plates are used to make. The steel-plate piling process poses some problems such as process delay due to piling errors, safety vulnerability due to the handling of extra heavy-weight objects, and the uncertainty of work plan due to lack of information management in the pile spaces. We constructed a steel-plate piling process system based on the context-aware computing to resolve such problems. We built simulation system that can simulate the piling process and then established a smart space within the system by using tags, sensors and a real-time location system in order to collect context information. Workers receive an appropriate or intelligent service from the system.

  • The Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association is carrying out a number of strategic tasks with the goal of "contributing to improving employment and stabilizing the return of workers to construction workers through employment welfare and retirement deduction services." One of them is the retirement deduction system. The retirement allowance system is a system for the retirement income and livelihood security of construction workers who are not adequately protected by the Labor Standards Act, such as retirement allowances due to the nature of day labor. The Construction Workers Mutual Aid Association has promoted the introduction of electronic manpower management. For the efficient management of the pilot sites and the plans for the future, comprehensive evaluation of the pilot sites as well as the evaluation of the status and operation results of each pilot project site are needed. Therefore, in this study, we will develop performance indicators to evaluate the current state of electronic manpower pilot projects and analyze the actual situation of pilot project sites through actual application, and try to derive future implementation strategies.

Techniques for Efficient Reading of Semi-Passive Sensor Tag Data (반수동형 센서 태그 데이터의 효율적인 읽기 기법)

  • This paper investigates the issue of efficient reading for sensor data of semi-passive sensor tag. The Cold Chain management system requires complete sensor data without data loss and the short processing time of reading sensor tag data. However, reading the sensed data could be interfered by RF environment such as a jamming, obstacle and so on. This study found that it could lead to loss of the sensed data and takes much time to read it when data loss is occurred. To solve this problem, we propose the transaction processing mechanism that guarantees efficient reading of the sensed data. To do this, we present the technique of dynamic packet size and technique of data recovery to execute read transaction. These techniques improve the reliability of reading operation as well as speed up of read process for the large capacity data. This paper contributes to the improvement of efficient reading of sensed data without any loss of data and large time required.

Design and Implementation of VLID System by Back-Scattering Visible Light (가시광의 후방산란을 이용한 VLID 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented a visible light identification(VLID) system consisting of a VLID reader and a tag which backscatters incident lights from the reader. A VLID tag sends its ID to the reader by switching an LCD shutter which is located on its surface. The VLID reader consists of six LEDs and a photodiode(PD). The LEDs emit visible light and a PD located in a center position of LEDs receives backscattered light from the VLID tag. A microcontroller and a commercial liquid crystal display(LCD) shutter for 3D-TV glasses are used to implement a VLID tag. Experiments were conducted to confirm VLID system performance. We successfully demonstrated experiments to send NRZ-OOK signal of 100 bps over a distance of 35 cm at daytime. Also, we suggested the theoretical maximum transmission rate and the various methods to enhance the separation distance between a VLID reader and a tag.

Development of Intelligent Self-alarming EAS System Using Dual-band Wireless Communication (듀얼밴드 무선통신기술을 이용한 지능형 자명식(自鳴式) 도난방지시스템 개발)

  • This paper will show how self-alarming EAS(Electronic Article Surveillance) system can improve its receiving performance of magnetic field signal and reduce false alarm using dual-band wireless communication. Our research improved the receiving performance and the areas of recognition of magnetic signal through the change of VLF receiving circuit and alarm transmitting method. In addition, we verified the reduction of false alarm by improvement of integrity and distance between tag and receiver through experiment. Thanks to our research, we can build the high performance and economical EAS with low false alarm on the multi gate store.

The Method of Performance Improvement for On-Glass Antennas by Optimizing the Surface of the Window Ground (유리접지면 최적화를 통한 글래스 안테나의 성능 향상 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel feeding method that uses a windshield ground in a vehicle. The feeding method enables for various antennas to integrate easily in a vehicle windshield. To connect a coaxial feeding cable directly to the windshield ground, we inserted a coaxial-to-ground adapter between the cable and the ground, and reflection coefficients using the proposed feeding method were compared to that using a conventional feeding method. The size and position of the windshield ground were optimized in order to achieve a high radiation gain in the azimuth direction. Then the triangular WiBro patch antenna, incorporating the proposed feeding method, was designed and installed on a rear windshield of a commercial sedan. The antenna using the proposed feeding method shows a similar reflection coefficient, and it shows 2 dB increased average azimuth radiation gain compared to that using a conventional sash ground method. These results demonstrate that the proposed feeding method can be applicable for integrating multiple antennas in a rear windshield.
