Implementation of the Hand-motion Recognition based Auxiliary Input Device using Gyro Sensor (자이로센서를 이용한 손 동작 인식형 보조 입력장치 구현)

  • In this paper, we have designed the auxiliary input device which based on hand-motion recognition. It is aimed at some individually specified person such as the disabled, rehabilitation patient, and the aged. The gyro sensor is used to recognize the hand-motion in 3D space, and communication bandwidth for transceiver is also set to the 2.4GHz. Prototype board includes a set of modules; Gyro sensor, RF transmitter/receiver, MCU for signal processing and USB connector etc. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the prototype, and as a result, mouse-based curser motion as well as program control are well operated just same as the design specification.

The Characteristic Changes of Amorphous-InGaZnO Thin Film according to RF Power (RF Power에 따른 Amorphous-InGaZnO 박막의 특성 변화)

  • We have studied the optical and electrical properties of a-IGZO thin films on the n-type semiconductor fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering method. The ceramic target was used in which $In_2O_3$, $Ga_2O_3$ and ZnO powder were mixed with 1:1:2 mol% ratio and furnished. The RF power was set at 25 W, 50 W, 75 W and 100 W as a variable process condition. The transmittance of the films in the visible range was above 80%, and it was 92% in the case of 25 W power. AFM analysis showed that the roughness increased as increasing RF power, and XRD showed amorphous structure of the films without any peak. The films are electrically characterized by high mobility above 10 $cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at low RF power, high carrier concentration and low resistivity. It is required to study further finding the optimal process condition such as lowering the RF power, prolonging the deposition ratio and qualification analysis.

One-Channel Phased-Array Quadrature RF Coil for Spine Magnetic Resonance Imaging (척추 MRI를 위한 One-Channel Phased-Array Quadrature RF 코일)

  • A new one-channel phased-array quadrature RF coil is developed for spine MR imaging. Quadrature RF coils for MRI have been used to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by$"\squt{2}"$ using two orthogonal RF coils in combination. More recently, the phased-array RF coil has been proposed for more improvement of SNR by using an array of reduced-size RF coil elements. Two schemes proposed for the new phased-array quadrature RF coil are:(1) Proper overlapping of two quadrature RF coils thus removing the mutual inductance and (2) Attaching preamplifiers right after the coil section and combining the signal with proper phase delays. The coil has been implemented for receive-only mode, and tested by phantom and volunteer imaging. The experimental results show the utility of the proposed RF coil.d RF coil.

  • A dual birdcage RF coil is proposed for MRI and MRA of the human leg. The proposed coil c can be used to cover the whole human leg by imaging upper and lower parts of the leg separately. In the conventional leg imaging scheme using a single RF coil, the leg has to be r relocated when changing the position of the RF coil thus causing problems in matching the i images from two sets of coils. When using the proposed dual RF coil, however, only the bed h has to be moved to select the imaging region while only one part of the dual coil is used each t time by using current switching and PIN diodes. The utility of proposed coil has been verified b by volunteer MRI and MRA and the imaging results show that the coil is useful for the clinical MRI and MRA of the leg.

  • In this paper, $Ba_{0.5}$Sr$_{0.5}$TiO$_3$ thin films were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrate by RF magnetron sputtering method. We investigated effect of deposition conditions (especially RF input power) on structural properties of BST thin films. Deposit conditions of BST films were set working gas ratio, Ar:O$_2$= 70 : 30, working pressure 10mTorr, and RF input power 25W, 50W, 75W and 100W. Post-annealing using rapid thermal annealing(RTA) performed at 45$0^{\circ}C$, 55$0^{\circ}C$, $650^{\circ}C$, and 75$0^{\circ}C$ in oxigen ambient for 60 sec, respectively. The structural properties of BST films on Pt/Ti/SiO$_2$/Si substrate analysed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).).).

  • In this work, we developed fully integrated broadband MMIC chip set employing CSP(Chip Size Package) for K/Ka band applications. By utilizing an ACF for the RF-CSP, the fabrication process for the packaged amplifier MMIC could be simplified and made cost effective. $STO(SrTi_{3})$ capacitors were employed to integrate the DC biasing components on the MMIC, and LC parallel circuits were employed for DC feed and ESD protection. A pre-matching technique and RC parallel circuit were used to achieve a broadband matching and good stability fer the amplifier MMIC in K/Ka band. The amplifier CSP MMIC exhibited good RF performance over a wide frequency range in K/Ka band. This work is the first report of a fully integrated CSP amplifier MMIC successfully operating in the K/Ka band.

  • Recently, researches about MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) system are being studied actively due to high-capacity and high-speed communication. However, MIMO system has many RF(Radio Frequency) chains according to many array antennas. So, MIMO system has disadvantages such as high-complexity and high-power-consumption. Also, it is impossible to miniaturize the antenna dimension. In order to solve these problems, beamspace MIMO system using ESPAR(Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator) antenna was proposed. It is possible to reduce the complexity and the power-consumption, because it has single RF chain by using one active antenna and several parasitic elements. In this paper, in order to improve the security, for the first time, chaos communication algorithm is applied to QPSK modulated beamspace MIMO system using ESPAR antenna. We define as chaos QPSK beamspace MIMO system, and evaluate the SER performance. Also, we confirm that QPSK symbols can be made by changing the reactance values of parasitic elements, and evaluate the SER performance of this system.

Design and Implementation of Multi-Channel WLL RF-module for Multimedia Transmission (멀티미디어 전송을 위한 무선가입자용 RF-모듈의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, the RF-modules composed of front-end, frequency synthesizer, modulator/demodulator and power control multi channel WLL personal system for W-CDMA using 10 [MHz] RF channel bandwidth has been implemented and considered. The measured transmission power is 250 [mW] which is very close to the required value. The measured flatness of power at the final output stage is ${\pm}1.5[dB]$ over the required bandwidth of the receiver. In addition, it is found that the chip rate transmitting spread signal is set to 8.192 [MHz], the required rate. The frequencies of RF_LO signal and LO signal of the modulator and the demodulator measured by a frequency synthesizer are satisfied with design requirements. The operating range of the receiving strength signal indicator and AGC units shows 60 [dB] respectively. Also the measured phasor diagram and eye pattern for deciding the RF modules compatible with baseband digital signal processing part are shown good results.

Measurement and Analysis of Terrestrial DTV Bitstreams in Korea (국내 지상파 DTV 비트스트림 측정 및 분석)

  • It is very important to find errors in broadcasted streams because it can help us to find where errors occur. Broadcasted streams may have errors in the RF(radio frequency) or baseband domain. It is very important to fix these errors because it can help to stabilize set-top boxes, provide stable receiving, and give comfortable environments to watch TV. Since 2001, major terrestrial broadcasters in Korea started the DTV broadcasting in Kwan-Ak over Seoul area. In this paper, we provide some analysis on errors in MPEG-based TS streams, PSIP packets, and RF area which may occur in DTV systems and compare this result with that of USA.

  • A new in vivo high resolution imaging method which is performed with a newly developed three channel surface gradient coil (SGC) is described. The surface gradient coil can produce more than an order of magnitude stronger gradient fields with good linearity within a limited imaging region. To increase the signal to noise ratio (SNR), we have developed an RF coil integrated surface gradient coil set. In this paper, the geometrical structures and characteristics of the proposed surface gradient coil are discussed and experimentally obtained high resolution images ($50\;{\mu}m$ to $100\;{\mu}m$) of a water filled phantom and a human volunteer's knee using the new surface RF coil integrated SGC set are presented for the demonstration of the in vivo high resolution imaging capability of the new imaging method.
