  • A K-band GaAs MMIC receiver module has been developed using 0.15 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ HEMT technology process. It incorporates two front end low noise amplifiers, a double balanced diode mixer, and filters. The RF input frequency ranges 20.1 to 21 GHz and the IF output 1.1 to 2 GHz. Test results show an overall conversion gain of more than 27 dB, and less than a 2.2 dB noise figure. The image-rejection ratio greater than 21 dB has been obtained. The isolation between RF and IF ports is better than 27 dB, and between LO and IF is more than 50 dB.

  • This paper describes a dual frequency synthesizer designed in a 0.2$\mu$m CMOS technology for wireless LAN applications. The design is focused mainly on low-power characteristics. Power dissipation is minimized especially in VCO and prescaler design. The designed synthesizer includes all building blocks for elimination of external components, other than the crystal. Its operating frequency can be programmed by external data. It operates in the frequency range of 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz (RF) and 250MHz to 800MHz (IF) and consumes 5.14mA at 2.5GHz and 1.08mA at 0.5GHz from a 2.5V supply. The measured phase noise is -85dBc/Hz in-band and -105dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset at IF band. The die area is 1.7mm$\times$1.7mm.

  • In this paper, we design SSD(simultaneous single band duplex) system using RF(radio frequency) cancellation and digital cancellation. we analyze characteristic of residual self-interference after RF Cancellation signal when error of phase shifter occur in RF cancellation. When phase shifter error of $0^{\circ}$, $0.5^{\circ}$, $1^{\circ}$ and $2^{\circ}$ occur in RF cancellation, residual self-interference signal power after RF cancellation is bigger than desired signal power of distant station. So, it is impossible to receive transmit data of distant station. but we confirm that it is possible to receive transmit data of distant station by digital cancellation with frame structure. Also, in digital cancellation with frame structure, if residual self-interference signal after RF cancellation is too large then LMS algorithm requires more time to estimate self-interference channel. That is, performance degradation occurs because self-interference channel estimation has not completed in estimation frame.

  • In this work, a wideband technique has been proposed that improves the IF bandwidth of mixers and a 24-GHz down-conversion mixer employing the proposed technique has been designed and fabricated based on 0.13-${\mu}m$ RFCMOS technology. The mixer showed the conversion gain of $2.7{\pm}1.5$ dB from DC to 5.25 GHz IF for a fixed LO frequency of 24 GHz. Measured P-1dB and LO-RF isolation was -8.7 dBm and 21 dB, respectively. The mixer draws DC current of 10.6 mA from 1.3 V supply.

  • Diodes and GaAs have been commonly used in a mixer design until recently. However, diodes are not preferred to use at the front-end of DBS receiver due to the conversion loss large noise. HEMT has larger conversion gain and better noise characteristics comparing with GaAs MESFET. This paper describes the design procedure, structure, and performance of a mixer, utilizaing HEMT designed by OKI Co. . A mixer configuration in which the local oscillator(LO) signal is applied to the gate is used. When the LO power is 0.01 dBm, the conversion gain of 3.7dB is obtained at IF and the 3 dB bandwidth is 400MMz.

  • In this paper, location recognition algorithm is developed to improve the accuracy using improve Trilateration. The location recognition algorithm is first calculate the location refer to the measured signal power. Error can be occurred when measure distance with arranged node in specific location. If the distance data is received from node (receiver, coordinator), Node selected for location calculation is defined through section. If the distance data is received from node (receiver, coordinator), Node selected for location calculation is defined through section. Second, we apply algorithm of section filtering. If there are 4 sections in node, we consider 1 section to 6 location recognition coordinates. A special characteristic drawback of RF is that the actual distance is actually farther than the calculated received distance data. This is error is incurred when the signal strength increases. We reduce the location recognition error by applying an improved algorithm as secondary after filtering primary through section filtering.

  • This paper presents a radio frequency-to-direct current (RF-to-DC) converter for special RF power harvesting application at 915 MHz. The major featured components of the proposed RF-to-DC converter is the combination of a cross-coupled rectifier and an active diode: first, the cross-coupled rectifier boosts the input voltage to desired level, and an active diode blocks the reverse current, respectively. A prototype was implemented using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology, and the performance was proven from the fact that the targeted RF harvesting system's full-operation with higher power efficiency; even if the system's input power gets lower (e.g., from nominal 0 to min. -12 dBm), the proposed RF-to-DC converter constantly provides 1.47 V, which is exactly the voltage level to drive follow up system components like DC-to-DC converter and so on. And, maximum power conversion efficiency is 82 % calculated from the 0 dBm input power, 2.3 mA load current.

  • In this research, the location positioning system supposed is concerned with range recognition technology using phase and magnitude of radio wave and adding technology of image histogram by vision. By the proposed technology, we design the radio transmitter and receiver and realize the measurement system, and save the data in disk that is earned from 900Mhz RF signal, middle frequency 450Khz of analog signal. Range information is earned the data through digital signal processing of IF signal. For the estimation of range measured, we analyze the difference between real range and measurement range, and also suggest the method to improve the measurement error using average processing and amplitude properties.

  • The conventional AC PDP has a relatively low efficiency which is close to 1.5 lm/W. If the AC sustain period is replaced by the RF sustain period, due to oscillating and low electric field, almost 60% of the supplied energy is spent by Xe excitation [1]. The efficiency of RF PDP can be $4{\sim}5$ times higher than that of AC PDP. In this paper, we will present the RF PDP that is a new type of PDP. A new display method in PDP using RF pulses is suggested and applied on a 4-inch-diagonal Panel (hereinafter 4" panel). Even though there were many researches in RF discharge, there was not enough research for display application. Now we propose the RF PDP that is a new display field and we will expect to do more research in this field.
