Method: The data was collected from 159 married mothers of newborns in the post-partum care center using self-rating questionnaires from November, 2003 to March, 2004. Data was analyzed using SPSS/Win program by t-test and Pearson Correlation coefficient. Result: 1) The mean score of mother's perception of the newborn, the newborn caring-confidence, and child-rearing attitude were .26, 3.13, and 3.43. 2) The score of the newborn caring-confidence of multipara was greater significantly than the one of primapara. 3) The score of mother's perception of tile newborn and child-rearing attitude of primapara were greater than the one of multipara but there were no significant differences. 4) There was a positive correlation between mother's perception of the newborn and child-rearing attitude and significant correlation between caring-confidence and child-rearing attitude. 5) The score of mother's perception of the newborn was significantly different according to the level of education type of family and delivery planned. 6) The score of caring-confidence was significantly different according to the helper, the history of delivery. 7) The score of child-rearing attitude was significantly difference according to the level of education and the birth weight of newborn. • This study aimed to identify the mediating effects of the child's career maturity on the relationship between mother's child-rearing attitudes and children's school adjustment. In order to achieve our goals, the present study 1) analysed the differences in the mother's child-rearing attitude perceived by child, child's career maturity, and school adjustment according to child's sex, and 2) examined the direct and indirect effects of mother's child-rearing attitude and child's career maturity on school adjustment. A total of 430 $6^{th}$ grade elementary school students living in Gwangju participated in this study. The summary of this study is as follows. First, there were some differences in achievement child-rearing attitude according to child's sex. Boys perceived their mother's child-rearing attitude as more achievement-oriented than girls. Second, child's career maturity mediated the relations between mother's child-rearing attitude perceived by child and their school adjustment. Specifically, the partial mediating effects of career maturity were found in all of the relations between sub-factors of child-rearing attitude(affection, autonomy, achievement, and rationality), and child's career maturity fully mediated the relation between autonomy and peer relationship. The results of this study mean that mother's child-rearing attitudes have both direct and indirect impacts on child's school adjustment and child's career maturity are all very important factors on their school adjustment. The present study suggests that it is necessary to provide diverse career programs to improve child's career maturity.

  • The purpose of this study is to find which variable has the biggest effect on the school life adjustment of elementary school students among family strength, self-esteem, and the mother's rearing attitude. Second, the study observes how the elementary school student's self-esteem has a moderating effect regarding the rearing attitudes of their mothers and their school life adjustment. Five hundred forty-five fifth and sixth graders from an elementary school in Cheonan, are the participants of this study. The key research findings of this study are as follows: First, among the rearing attitudes of the mothers, family strength, and self-esteem, the variable that showed the greatest relationship with positive school life adjustment was family strength followed by self-esteem. Second, The self-esteem of the elementary school students showed a 1% moderating significant effect between the rearing attitudes of the mothers and school life adjustment. In the high self-esteem group of elementary school students, the moderating effect of self-esteem showed a higher level of school life adjustment when the students perceived that their mother had an affectionate rearing attitude, but showed a lower level of school life adjustment if they perceived their mother's rearing attitude as rejective or overprotective. Therefore, this study suggests that a focus on increasing self-esteem and family strength along with the affectionate rearing attitude of mothers is needed for the positive adjustment of elementary school students.

  • This investigation was carried out to find the effects of silkworm rearing technique on the harvesting amounts. In spring and autumn of 1971, 14 silkworm rearing farmers at Botong Ri and Youngsoo Ri, Chongnam Myun, Hwaseung Kun, Kyunggi Do in Korea were selected as sample farmers. They were devided into two groups, high productivity group and low productivity group according to their harvesting amounts per box of silkworm eggs in 1970. The high productivity group represents the farmer who produced above average harvesting amounts per box, and the low group represents below average group. In this investigation, all farmers were adjusted to share uniform rearing condition with even mulberry leaves. Under this uniform condition, the effects of rearing techniques on the harvesting amounts per box of silkworm eggs and the effects of rearing condition on the harvesting amounts were inferred. Results obtained are as fellows; (1) Measuring from the 14 sample farmers, the effect of rearing technique on the harvesting amounts per box covers 15% of farmers in spring rearing season but 33% in autumn season. (2) Measuring from these sample farmers, the effects of the nutrition condition is less than 56% in spring rearing season but less than 69% in autumn, and it can be concluded that these effects include the effect of climate factor. (3) In the low productivity group. the most important facto. affecting the low productivity is non-disinfection of rearing environment.

  • The present study is to develop the rearing method of Gryllotalpa orientalis. In total 429 of G. orientalis were collected from the field rearing cage ($25m^2$) in 2012. Its sex ratio was 1: 1.15(Female : Male). Survival rate of the mole crickets was 94.4~86.1% with the artificial diets formulated for the present study. Successful oviposition rate was 20, 20 and 80% for one, two and three pairs of adult crickets, respectively, from the indoor rearing. The mean number of hatchlings was $11.8{\pm}21.7$, $15.7{\pm}26.4$ and $25.8{\pm}38.8$, and the mean number of dead hatchlings 1.2, 1.7 and 1.2. The mortality of nymphs on horticultural soil and clay sand mixed with ocher was 18.3 and 10.0%, respectively.
