Design of a RDF Metadata System for the Searching of Application Programs (응용프로그램의 검색을 위한 RDF 메타데이터 시스템의 설계)

  • As the amount of data on the web increase, it is difficult to search what we want exactly. Therefore, much researches are attempted to search web resources efficiently. So, W3C established the standard that give meanings to resources on the web using RDF metadata. The RDF metadata had been mainly described a document data on the web. But it is difficult to create automatically the metadata for application programs than the document data. This paper proposes a method to use RDF metadata to search application programs. Firstly, we define RDF data model that stores the information of the application programs and RDF schema that references the RDF data model. And we design a prototype system to search application programs. This system meets expectation, getting the application to fullfill the needs of user, and has the efficiency of the searching function.

A Study on the Development of Metadata of Moving Images (동영상 정보의 메타데이터 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggests metadata as an effective search tool suitable for moving images on the web. Dublin Core, a leading metagata sceme of web resources, and MPEG-7, a coming international standard developed by MPEG, are used to construct a hybrid metadata scheme. RDF is selected as a framework for a matadata description and Moving Image Core was developed as a RDF schema. Finally, RDF/XML encoded metadata of moving images are retrieved throuth web-based database system using ASP technology.

  • 본 연구는 웹상에 존재하는 메타데이터의 통합이나 그 활용성을 증진시키기 위해서 RDF를 활용하여 상이한 메타데이터 형식에 정의된 기술요소간의 어의적인 연계성을 확보하기 위한 방안에 대한 연구이다. 이를 위해 RDF스키마를 기반으로 연계성 확보의 기반이 되는 공통스키마를 설계하고, 이 스키마의 해당 클래스를 rdf: domain속성값으로 메타데이터 스키마를 설계함으로써 결과적으로 공통스키마를 기준으로 메타데이터 형식상호간 연계성을 갖도록 하였다.

  • The Resource Description Framework(RDF) utilized for the representation and storage of information in various application, plays an important role in the Semantic Web, the next generation web. A number of RDF systems have been implemented for retrieval of RDF metadata. However, they do not provide the sufficient performance for the querying function of practical application system. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of RDF system, SMARTTriple, which has a RDF storage structures using index map and provides the better performance than the previous systems. We present a performance comparison results with the well-known RDF systems. SMARTTriple will be a great contribution to the research and development of Semantic Web application.

  • Keeping the semantic interoperability between different formats is very important for reuseing and consistently processing metadata. This article is to design common schema and KORMARC schema based on RDF schema. For this, common elements are made by comparison of Dublin Core elements and KORMARC fields. The schema of these elements is designed for construction of semantic interoperability, basing RDF schema specification and syntax specification. Eventually, the semantic interoperability between a number of metadata formats can be constructed by matching the common elements to each attribute of format. KORMARC schema is designed by the application of common schema.

  • RDF treats all resources independently, that's integrated description model for internet resources description, that provides the model to connect resources that related with the specific resources. This article performs theoretical review of RDF model and syntax specification and RDF schema specification that's a common rule of semanics, structure and syntax those provides search and access in the area of dispersed information environment of internet and Dublin Core that's description element for build metadata. And with this way it's materialized metadata design, schema, DTD of Dublin Core element for building RDF-based metadata that is XML application.

  • Recently, the semantic web stands out in the next generation web. To realize the semantic web, the metadata integration is required between different metadatas on the web for metadata management. Otherwise, the integrated structure is needed to accommodate all of semantic, syntax and structure. RDF is one of the core technology and is more efficient framework for technology and interchange of metadata in the web, In this paper, for metadata management, we designed and implemented the RDF authoring system which converts each of metadata into RDF and makes it easy to manipulate and manage the different metadatas. For this, we researched about the RDF creation using Dublin Core metadata, the conversion of XML document into RDF, the RDF expression by N-Triple form and the integration of WSDL and RDF, and implemented the system on the lava platform. Basically, users using this system can integrate and manage metadatas easily even if they are not expert.

  • W3C enacted RDF(Resource Description Framework based DCAT meta data standard, which is world-widely accepted so far. To guarantee the inter-operability and integrity of data from various sources and even from various countries, it is considered that transportation meta data should also follow the DCAT standard. But still, to represent the transportation domain-specific features, it is necessary to define new properties and vocabularies in addition to the DCAT standard. This research identified the additional properties and vocabularies for transportation metadata, considering uniqueness of transportation data. The revised RDF schema and RDF graph proposed in this research should be able to lead the transportation open data platform revitalization.

  • The purpose of this study is to present technical elements to improve the data utilization of the ISNI Korea Consortium, which is operated by the National Library of Korea, which is responsible for the registration of Korean names. The ISNI Korea Consortium aims to register various creation-related information in addition to bibliographic-related individual and organization name information. To this end, this study examines the ISNI Korea consortium, which is a data provider's consultative body, among other things, the metadata status of copyright organizations and the linked data specification of ISNI. As a result, data acquisition, refining, storage, identifier management, consortium metadata management, five in total, and RDF data management (repository) in terms of linked data, RDF data issuance, RDF data retrieval, RDF data inquiry, RDF data Eight technical elements, including download, ontology inquiry, standard term inquiry and mapping information management, were derived.

  • 본 논문은 영상의 메타데이터를 RDF를 이용하여 표현, 저장하고, SPARQL을 이용하여 검색하는 솔루션을 구현하여, RDF와 SPARQL을 통한 멀티미디어 파일의 메타데이터 관리 방안을 제시한다. 솔루션은 Jena2 프레임워크 기반으로 구현하였으며, Controller, EXIF Extractor, Metadata Schema, RDF Generator, Repository Manager, SPARQL Executor의 모듈로 구성된다.
