Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets are becoming increasingly popular for strengthening deteriorated concrete bridges due to their excellent strength and stiffness-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and convenience of construction work. The purpose of this study is to compare the performance of CFRP-strengthened reinforced concrete (RC) beams and to develop a new design formula. Simple beams with 3 m span length were tested to investigate the effect of reinforcing steel ratio and CFRP-reinforcing ratio on the flexural behavior of strengthened RC beams. The test results were analyzed with the special emphasis on the failure mode, the maximum load, and the strain distribution in the section. It is shown that the strain of the strengthened beams is not linearly distributed in the section. A new design formula based on the non-linear distribution of the strain has been derived and showed that it has a good agreement with the various domestic and foreign test results.

In this study, the development performance of the head bars, which is SD700, was experimentally evaluated at the RC (reinforced concrete) or SFRC (steel fiber reinforced concrete external beam-column joint. A total of 10 specimens were tested, and variables such as steel fibers, length of settlement, effective depth of the beam, and stirrups of the column were planned. As a result of the experiment, the specimens showed side-face blowout, concrete breakout, and shear failure depending on the experimental variables. In the RC series experiments with development length as a variable, it was confirmed that the development strength increased by 26.5~42.2% as the development length increased by 25-80%, which was not proportional to the development length. JD-based experiments with twice the effective depth of beams showed concrete breakout failure, reducing the maximum strength by 31.5% to 62% compared to the reference experiment. The S-series experiment, in which the spacing of the shear reinforcement around the enlarged head reinforcement was 1/2 times that of the reference experiment, increased the maximum strength by 8.4 to 9.7%. The concrete compressive strength of SFRC was evaluated to be 29.3% smaller than the concrete compressive strength of RC, but the development strength of SFRC specimens increased by 7.3% to 12.2%. Accordingly it was confirmed that the development performance of the head bar was greatly improved by reinforcing the steel fiber. Considering the results of 92% and 99% of the experimental maximum strength of the experiment arranged with 92% and 110% of the KDS-based settlement length, it is judged that the safety rate needs to be considered even more. In addition, it is required to present a design formula that considers the effective depth of the beam compared to the development length.

A 10b 30MS/s pipelined ADC operating under 1V power supply is presented. It utilizes a switched-RC based input sampling circuit and a resistive loop to reset the feedback capacitor in the multiplying digital-to-analog converter (MDAC) for the low-voltage operation. Cascaded switched-RC branches are used to achieve accurate grain of the MDAC for the first stage and separate switched-RC circuits are used in the sub-ADC to suppress the switching noise coupling to the MDAC input The measured differential and integral non-linearities of the prototype ADC fabricated in a 0.13${\mu}m$, CMOS process are less than 0.54LSB and 1.75LSB, respectively. The prototype ADC achieves 54.1dB SNDR and 70.4dB SFDR with 1V supply and 30MHz sampling frequency while consuming 17mW power.

As internal and external seismic experiment results, the seismic performance of RC bridge piers is largely dependent on the ratio of lap-spliced bars to all longitudinal reinforcing bars in plastic hinge regions, and confining effects of transverse reinforcements. Capacity and displacement ductility of non-seismically designed existing RC piers are reduced by lap splices in plastic hinge regions. The provision for the lap splice of longitudinal reinforcing bars was not specified in KBDS (Korean Bridge Design Specifications) before the implementation of 1992 seismic design code, but the ratio of lap-spliced bars to all longitudinal reinforcing bars in plastic hinge regions is restricted to 50% in the 2005 version of KBDS. This paper presents a seismic assessment of RC piers at lap-splicing ratios of 0%, 50%, and 100%. Through a comparison of experimental and analytic results of RC piers, we introduce an appropriate ultimate strain of confined concrete in plastic hinge regions with lap-splices, and propose a method for estimating displacement ductility ratios of non-seismically designed existing RC piers using fiber element analysis.

The high strength materials have been more widely used in a large reinforced concrete structures. It is known that the use of high strength material in RC structures give the benefits of the mechanical and durable properties, but the ductility decreases with an increase in the strength of the materials. In the design of a reinforced concrete beam, both the flexural strength and ductility need to be considered. So, it is necessary to assess accurately the ductility of the beam with high strength materials in order to ensure the ductility requirement in design. In this study, the effects of the material strength on the flexural behavior and curvature ductility factor of reinforcement concrete beam sections with various reinforcement conditions have been evaluated and a newly prediction formula for curvature ductility factor of RC beam has been developed considering the stress of compression reinforcement at ultimate state. The proposed predictions for the curvature ductility factor which is applicable to both singly and doubly reinforced concrete beam are verified by comparisons with other prediction formulas and the proposed formula offers fairly accurate within 9% error and consistent predictions for curvature ductility factor of reinforced concrete beam.
