Black soybean with the anthocyanin in the seed coat is known to have higher antioxidant activity than the yellow soybean. This study was carried out to evaluate antioxidant activity of 231 Korean black soybean landraces which conserved at RDA gene bank. Antioxidant activities were measured using DPPH, TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP assay. DPPH showed wide variations, ranging from 16.4 to 200.4($IC_{50}$). TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP were ranged from 0.8 to 13.2 mg gallic acid equivalent/g (mg GAE/g), 0.15 to 0.82 mg quercetin equivalent/g (mg QE/g), 2.0 to 8.3 mg ascorbic acid/g (mg ASC/g) and 0.2 to 3.1 mg ASC/g, respectively. Among 231 Korean black soybean landraces, IT177715 showed the highest antioxidant activity in DPPH assay. In TPC, TFC, ABTS, and FRAP assays, IT274975, IT274551, IT167725, and IT178047 showed the highest antioxidant activity, respectively. In Relative Antioxidant Capacity Index (RACI), IT178047 showed the highest antioxidant activity, while IT177197 the lowest. This study will be able to provide useful data to select black soybean landraces with high antioxidant activity.

As the importance of big data analysis increases to improve the competitiveness of a corporate, a unified big data project development methodology is required in order to study the problem of a corporate in a systematic way and evaluate the problem w.r.t. a business value after solving the problem. This paper propose Scientific Data Anslysis and Development methodology(SDAD) which are integrated methodology of software development and project management for easier application into a field project. SDAD consisits of 6 stages(problem definition stage, data preparation stage, model design stage, model development stage, result extraction stage, service development state), each stages has detailed processes(47) and productions(93). SDAD, furthermore, unified previous ISP, DW, SW development methodologies in terms of the data analysis and can easily interchange the productions with them. This paper, lastly, introduces a way to assign responsible persons for each process and provide communication procedures in RACI chart to improves the efficiency of the interaction among professionals from different subjects. SDAD is applied to a Bigdata project in Korea Employment Information Services institution and the result turned out to be acceptable when evaluated by the supervision.

The Korean common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) has been receiving increased attention as a functional food. The objective of this study was to reveal the phytochemicals genetic variation and antioxidant activity of 209 Korean common bean landraces. Antioxidant activity was evaluated with the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate), ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) assay. Antioxidant activities among common bean accessions showed wide variation. Four flavonoids (kaempferol, myricetin, quercetin, and naringenin) of the 209 Korean common bean landraces were measured using HPLC. Among them, kaempferol had the highest phytochemicals compared to the other three flavonoids. Using the relative antioxidant capacity index (RACI), it was found out that the IT104587 had the highest antioxidant activity. Meanwhile, in clustering analysis, the Korean common bean landraces were classified into three clusters. Among them, cluster II contained 64 landraces with higher antioxidant activities and phytochemicals than the other clusters, except DPPH. The results could provide information on the valuable Korean common bean landraces for the development of new common bean varieties.
This study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant activity in the leaves and stems of 50 tomato accessions, in order to examine the possibility of using tomato by-products as a functional material. The extracts of the leaves (LE) and stems (SE) were analyzed for DPPH, ABTS, and total polyphenol content (TPC). Antioxidant activities and TPC differed significantly between the LE and SE of the 50 tomato accessions. TPC in LE and SE showed wide variation, ranging from 24.4 to 60.6 and 12.5 to 18.8 mg GAE/g, respectively. The DPPH and ABTS antioxidant activities of LE ranged from 10.0 to 38.2% (scavenging effect) and 20.8 to 59.0 mg ASC/g, respectively, while the DPPH and ABTS measurements of SE were 1.4 to 8.8% and 2.2 to 22.5 mg ASC/g, respectively. As assessed by the relative antioxidant capacity index (RACI), IT033117 and IT203466 had the highest antioxidant activity in LE and SE, respectively. These results will expand the knowledge of antioxidant activity and provide information on tomato accessions valuable for the development of functional foods and food additives.

Adzuki bean (Vigna angularis) has been extensively investigated due to their biological activities. In this study, total polyphenol content (TPC), total phenolic acid content (TPA), and total flavonoid content (TFC) in 209 Korean adzuki bean landraces were determined by colorimetric methods. Antioxidant effects were evaluated with the DPPH, ABTS, ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), reducing power (RP), and SOD assays. TPC, TPA, and TFC in the 209 Korean adzuki bean landraces ranged from 1.1 to 11.7 mg gallic acid equivalents/g, 0.37 to 5.03 mg caffeic acid equivalents/g, and 0.17 to 0.91 mg quercetin equivalents/g, respectively. Antioxidant activities as assessed by the DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, PR, and SOD assays showed wide variation, ranging from 12.2 to 86.3 (IC50), 0.85 to 5.25 mg ascorbic acid equivalents (ASC)/g, 0.41 to 5.44 mg ASC/g, 0.54 to 1.83 mg ASC/g, and 60.4 to 142.8 (IC50), respectively. Using the relative antioxidant capacity index (RACI), we found that the IT189394 sample had the highest antioxidant activity. In clustering analysis, 209 Korean adzuki bean landraces were classified into three clusters. Among them, cluster I contained 22 accessions with higher antioxidant activities, TPC, TFC, and TPA and smaller seed sizes than the other clusters. We anticipate that these results will provide useful information for the development of adzuki bean-based functional foods.

In order to select potential plant resources as functional materials and natural antioxidants, we evaluated antioxidant activity and serotonin derivatives of safflower germplasm collected from five countries. N-(p-Coumaroyl) serotonin (CS) and N-feruloylserotonin (FS) were analyzed by using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC). Total polyphenol content (TPC) was determined by Folin-Ciocalteu method and antioxidant activities were estimated by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazil (DPPH), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS), Ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and Reducing power (RP) assays. The TPC showed a range of 28.25 to $90.53{\mu}g$ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/mg dried extract (DE). DPPH, ABTS, FRAP and RP assay were in the range of 18.76 to 93.98, 48.91 to 163.73, 3.80 to 132.29 and 26.32 to $80.08{\mu}g$ ascorbic acid equivalent (ASCE)/mg DE, respectively. Among the five countries, safflower seed collected from Iran had the highest levels of serotonin derivatives and antioxidant activities than other countries (p<0.05). CS showed high correlation with TPC, ABTS and DPPH (r=0.673,0.727,0.820), and FS showed high correlation with DPPH (r=0.740). Accessions IT321214 and IT321215 could be useful for development of new functional materials and could be used as a source of valuable natural antioxidant materials.
