A wall type friction damper is newly Proposed in this paper to improve the performance of R/C framed structures under earthquake loads. Although traditional dampers are usually placed as bracing members, the application ot bracing-type dampers into R/C structures is not as simple as those of steel structures due to the connection between R/C members and dampers and the stress concentration in connection region. Proposed damper is consisted of Teflon-sheet slider and R/C shear wall. The damper can also avoid stress concentration and reduce P-Δ effect. To evaluate the performance of proposed damper, nonlinear dynamic analyses are carried on 10 story and 3 bay R/C structures with numerical model for the damper. It is shown that the damper reduces the inter-story drifts and the time-historic responses; especially the damper prevents from forming plastic hinges on the lower columns.

The primary and secondary structures of Xanthomonas palargonii 5S rRNA were determined. The higher order structure of the 5S rRNA was also analysed using several ribonucleases and chemical probes, such as ethylnitrourea, Pb2+, dimethylsulfate and diethyl pyrocarbonate. Ethylnitrourea was used for probing the phosphate groups involved in the tertiary interactions in the 5S rRNA. Nucleotides G72, A73, G75, A78, G98, G100 and A101 in unstable helical region d, nucleotides C36, C37, A39, and C41 in loop c, nucleotides A29 and G33 in stem C became resistant to ethylnitrourea modification in the presence of Mg2+. On the basis of findings from chemical and enzymatic studies, and also Pb2+-induced cleavages, it was concluded that region b-C and unstable helical region d may act as hinges in the folding of 5S rRNA.
An approximate method of normal coordinate idealization for use in nonlinear R /C frames has been developed. Normal coordinate apporaches have been used for nonlinear problems in the past, but they are not recerved wide acceptance because of the need for eigenvector computation in each time step. The proposed method circumvents the eigenvector recalculation problem by evaluating a limited number of sets of mode shapes in performing the dynamic analysis. Then some of the predetermined sets of eigenvectors are used in the nonlinear dynamic repeatedly.
The method is applied to frame structures with ductile R /C elements. The plastic hinge zones are modeled with hysteres~s loops which evince degrading stiffness and pinching effects. Effxiencies and accuracies of the method for this application are presented.

The present study is to investigate the ultimate behavior and limit state design of 2-I) R/C structures, with the changing of crack direction, and the yielding of the reinforcing steel bars, and Is to introduce an algorithm for the limit state design and analysis of 2-D R/C structures, directly from the finite element model. For the design of reinforcement in concrete the limit state design equation is incorporated into finite element algorithm to be based on the pointwise elemental ultimate behavior. It is also introduced a simplified nonlinear analysis algorithm for stress-strain relationship of R/C plane stress problem considering the cracking and its rotation in concrete and the yielding of the reinforcing steel bar. The algorithm is incorporated into the nonlinear finite element analysis. The analysis model is compared with the experimental model of R/C shear wall. In a simple design example for a shear wall, the required reinforcement ratios in each finite element is obtained from the limit state design equations.
The crystal structure of Dinitroethylenediaminepalladium(II), $Pd(C_2H_8N_2)(NO_2)_2$, has been determined by X-ray crystallography. Crystal data: a=7.425(3), b=8.480(4), c=11.885(2) ${\AA}$, Orthorhombic, $A2_1ma$ (Space Group No=36), Z=4, V=748.3(4) ${\AA}^3,\;D_c=2.295 gcm^{-3},\;{\mu}=2.457mm^{-1}$. The structure was solved by Patterson method and refined by full matrix least-square methods using unit weights. The final R and S values were $R_1=0.0306,\;R_w=0.0802,\;R_{all}=0.0320,\;and\;S=1.166)$ for the observed 377 reflections. Bond lengths and angles of palladium complex are similar to the previously reported data. The complex structure is one dimensional Reiset's salt type analogue showing zigzag chain of Pd-Pd length and angle of 3.762(2) ${\AA}$ and $161.41(5)^{\circ}$. The complex molecules are linked through inter-and intramolecular hydrogen bonds of 3.05(1) and 3.15(1) ${\AA}$ between oxygen and nitrogen.
Recently, the existing embedded real-time operating systems(RTOSs) are being developed in terms of various modified versions in every application fields. Major characteristics and difference of these OSs lie in their distinct development of mechanisms which can be used in various environment and task-scheduling function which can control time-limited contingencies. In this paper, we design and implement round/robin scheduling algorithm based on time-sharing with equal-priority for multiple tasks which are provided preemptive and priority task allocation function in $\mu{C/OS-II}$ version 2.03. We propose the most important event-ready list structure in $\mu{C/OS-II}$; kernel, and provide the running result for multiple tasks with equal priority for the proposed structure.

Material and electrical properties of copper-based ohmic contacts on n-type 4H-SiC were investigated for the effects of the post-annealing and the metal covering conditions. The ohmic contacts were prepared by sequential sputtering of Cu and Si layers on SiC substrate. The post-annealing treatment was performed using RTP (rapid thermal process) in vacuum and reduction ambient. The specific contact resistivity ($p_{c}$), sheet resistance ($R_{s}$), contact resistance ($R_{c}$), transfer length ($L_{T}$), were calculated from resistance (RT) versus contact spacing (d) measurements obtained from TLM (transmission line method) structure. The best result of the specific contact resistivity was obtained for the sample annealed in the reduction ambient as $p_{c}= 1.0 \times 10^{-6}\Omega \textrm{cm}^2$. The material properties of the copper contacts were also examined by using XRD. The results showed that copper silicide was formed on SiC as a result of intermixing Cu and Si layer.

In this paper, Reinforced concrete (R/C) and R/C+steel plate concrete slab was carried out by SAP2000 software program in order to compare the stability of the multi-functional fishway, that is Bonggok fishway, built at Bonggok river recently in Gumi city, when the size of underground passage is $1m{\times}0.2m$, $1m{\times}0.4m$, $1m{\times}0.6m$ and the velocity is 0.8m/s, 1.2m/s, 1.6m/s respectively for the S2 (R/C+S/C). The analysis shows the maximum stress of S2 decreases less 26~50% than that of Bonggok, bending moment of sidewall decreases less 28~54%, maximum stress of side wall decreases less 17~31%, bending moment of upper slab decreases less 24~47%, maximum stress of upper slab decreases less 4~20%, and bending moment decreases less 10~27% than that of Bonggok. The complementation is required as much as the following percent; 27% and 25% for the maximum stress and bending moment of underground passage, 15% and 24% for the side wall maximum stress and bending moment, and 10% and 14% for the upper slab maximum stress and bending moment, respectively. This result shows that the S2 is greatly superior to that of the Bonggok fishway, and underground passage size of $1m{\times}0.4m$ is superior to that of $1m{\times}0.2m$ or $1m{\times}0.6m$, and R/C+S/C slab is superior to that of R/C slab. This result is expected to be the basic data for the construction and design of the multi-functional fishway.
The co-precipitation method is applied to synthesize the cathode material Li[L $i_{x}$M $n_{1-x-y}$C $r_{y}$ ] $O_2$ for lithium rechargeable batteries at $650^{\circ}C$ (CR650) and 8$50^{\circ}C$ (CR850), respectively. Rietveld indices indicate that $R_{wp}$ with respect to $R_{exp}$ ( $R_{wp}$/ $R_{exp}$) are 9.2%/10.1% for CR650 and 15.9%/9.76% for CR850, respectively. $R_{B}$ and S (GofF) shows 10.9%, 8.54% and 1.9, 1.6, respectively. Rietveld structure refinement reveals that layer structure of LiMn $O_2$ (R3m) coexists with lower symmetry of Li[L $i_{1}$3/M $n_{2}$3/] $O_2$ (C2/c) due to superlattice ordering of Li and Mn in metal-transition containing layers. Unit-cell parameters are calculated as a=2.8520(2)$\AA$, c=14.248(2)$\AA$, V=100.40(l)$\AA^3$ for CR650, and a=2.8504(1)$\AA$, c=14.2371(7)$\AA$, V=100.179(8)$\AA^3$ for CR850. Final chemistry is obtained as Li[L $i_{0.35}$M $n_{0.56}$C $r_{0.09}$] $O_2$ (CR650) and Li[L $i_{0.27}$M $n_{0.61}$C $r_{0.13}$] $O_2$ (CR850), respectively.y...y..vely.y...y..
