Experiments were conducted to study the integrated control of one of the major pests of citrus, the citrus red mite, Panonychus citri (McGregor). Studies were conducted in Seogwipo, Cheju Island, 1973-1976. Results obtained were: 1. The major peak of citrus red mite occurrence was mid-July to mid-August. 2. Standard field populations of citrus red mite were also high in September, October, and November. 3. A total of 10 species of natural enemies of citrus red mite were found. These included; Oligota yasumatusi Kistner, Anystis baccarum L., Hemerobiid sp., Semidalis albate E., Orius sp., Agistemus terminalis Q., 3 species of lady beetles (Coccinellidae), and one unidentified species of predacious mite. 4. Annual occurrence of citrus med mite tended to decrease in unsprayed fields, but increased in fields receiving standard treatments. 5. With fungicides, there was an increase in mite populations associated with use of Bordeaux mixture and copperpowder sprays. Streptomycin, however, did not effect on increase in mite numbers.

The QRS complex of ECG signal represents the depolarization and repolarization activities in the cells of ventricle. Accurate informations of $QRS_{onset}$ and $QRS_{offset}$ are needed for automatic analysis of ECG waves. In this study, using the amount of change in the QRS complex voltage values and the distance from the $R_{peak}$, we determined the junction point from Q-wave to R-wave and the junction point from R-wave to S-wave. In the next step, using the integral calculation based on the connection point, we detected $QRS_{onset}$ and $QRS_{offset}$. We use the PhysioNet QT database to evaluate the performances of the algorithm, and calculate the mean and standard deviation of the differences between onsets or offsets manually marked by cardiologists and those detected by the proposed algorithm. The experiment results show that standard deviations are under the tolerances accepted by expert physicians, and outperform the results obtained by the other algorithms.

As one of the most hazardous and deadliest pathogens, Listeria monocytogenes (LM) posed various serious diseases to the human being, thus designing effective strategy for its detection is of great significance. In this work, by preparing Ti3C2Tx MXenes nanoribbon (Ti3C2TxR) as carrier and selecting thionine (Th) acted simultaneously as signal probe and functional monomer, a LM pathogen-imprinted polymers (PIP) integrated probe electrochemical sensor was design to monitor LM for the first time, that was carried out through the electropolymerization of Th on the Ti3C2TxR/GCE surface in the existence of LM. Upon eluting the templates from the LM imprinted cavities, the fabricated PIP/Ti3C2TxR/GCE sensor can rebound LM cells effectively. By recording the peak current of Th as the response signal, it can be weakened when LM cell was re-bound to the LM imprinted cavity on PIP/Ti3C2TxR/GCE, and the absolute values of peak current change increase with the increasement of LM concentrations. After optimizing three key parameters, a considerable low analytical limit (2 CFU mL-1) and wide linearity (10-108 CFU mL-1) for LM were achieved. In addition, the experiments demonstrated that the PIP/Ti3C2TxR sensor offers satisfactory selectivity, reproducibility and stability.
This study analyzed characteristics of ozone (O3) formation regimes in Busan over a period of recent five years (2015~2019) and compared the findings with those obtained in Seoul. We employed four observed variations: early morning commuting-hour (i.e., 06:00-09:00 LST) nitrogen dioxide (NO2), peak-hour (i.e., 12:00-16:00 LST) O3, 8-hour average O3 (MDA8 O3), and △O3 (=O3_max- O3_min) in Busan and Seoul. In addition, the NO2-O3 relation was assessed to interpret which of NOx-limited or volatile organic compound (VOC)-limited was dominant. In Busan, the annual mean O3 concentration was relatively higher than in Seoul, whereas there were fewer high-concentration days. The Pearson correlation coefficients (R) between Early morning-hour NO2 and the Peak-hour O3 was positive (but close to zero) in Busan and negative in Seoul. Likewise, the R between the Early morning-hour NO2 and the △O3 showed a relatively considerable positive correlation (R=+0.4~0.5)(R=+0.4~0.5) in Busan, while a weak positive correlation (R=+0.1~0.2) in Seoul. From this result, it can be inferred that the O3 formation regime in Busan was intrepreted to be nearly neutral or relatively closer to the NOx-limited regime than Seoul, while Seoul to the VOC-limited regime. The study findings imply that O3 control strategies should be applied differently in Busan and Seoul. The results here were inferred from surface NO2 and O3 observations, and the varification studies based on in-situ VOCs measurements would be needed.
Enalapril maleate tablets of two different producers were tested for bioequivalence. Enalapril is rapidly metabolized to an active metabolite, enalaprilat which inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). The pharmacokinetics of enalapril maleate and the time course of inhibition of plasma ACE activity after administration of the drugs were studied. Two single doses of 10mg each of enalapril maleate were administered orally to twelve male volunteers in a balanced, randomized, two-way crossover investigation. Plasma enalaprilat concentrations were determined over a 23-hour after the dose by enzyme inhibition assay and enalapril by the same method following in vitro hydrolysis. Urinary recoveries of enalapril and enalaprilat were determined for the calculation of renal clearance. Plasma ACE activity was determined by an enzyme assay. Peak plasma levels of enalapril were observed about 1 hour after the doses, and practically all enalapril had disappeared from plasma within 6 hour. Peak enalapril concentrations of both formulations were almost identical ($Vasotec^{\circledR}$, 61.38 ng/ml; $Beartec^{\circledR}$, 64.27 ng/ml). The values of the pharmacokinetic parameters of enalaprilat computed for $Vasotec^{\circledR}$ and $Beartec^{\circledR}$ tablets are presented in that order; area under the curve=330.63:320.96 $ng{\cdot}hr/ml$; peak concentration=38.63:39.43 ng/ml; time to peak=3.83:4.08 hour; elimination half-life=3.95:3.92 hours. No statistically significant difference was detected when area under the curve and all other parameters were compared. Using criteria of 95% confidence interval for the comparison of these parameters, only the upper limits of area under the curve and time to peak of enalapril were over 120%. All the parameters of enalaprilat were acceptable. Percent inhibition of plasma ACE to plasma enalaprilat concentration showed the sigmoid concentration-inhibition relationship. Time courses of plasma ACE inhibition after the administration of both formulations were quite similar. The formulations were found to be equivalent when compared on the premise that no significant difference was detected when pharmacokientic parameters and inhibition of ACE activity were compared, based on the confidence limits analysis.

Modern communication systems employ wideband antennas with circular polarization (CP) radiation. In this work, asymmetric modified bow-tie (ABT) and symmetric modified bow-tie (SBT) slotted circularly polarized single-point probe-fed circular patch antennas with dimensions of $40mm{\times}40mm$ for wideband applications are proposed. A 10 dB RL bandwidth of 350 MHz with CP, 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 100 MHz, peak gain of 4.9 dBic, and 10 dB RL bandwidth of 530 MHz with CP, 3 dB AR bandwidth of 140 MHz, peak gain of 5 dBic are obtained for ABT and SBT slotted circular patch antennas, respectively. The proposed SBT slotted patch is scaled up and down to $50mm{\times}50mm$ and $30mm{\times}30mm$, respectively. The proposed scaled-up version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 340 MHz and 80 MHz, with a peak gain of 5 dBic. The scaled-down version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 710 MHz and 180 MHz, with a peak gain of 5.25 dBic. These prototypes are suitable to work in IEEE 802.11a WLAN, ISM, and IEEE 802.11ac applications. The measured and simulated results are then discussed and compared.

A new modified singular value decomposition method, piecewise polynomial truncated SVD (PPTSVD), which was originally developed to identify discontinuity of the earth's radial density function, has been used for large solvent peak suppression and noise elimination in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal processing. PPTSVD consists of two algorithms of truncated SVD (TSVD) and L₁ problems. In TSVD, some unwanted large solvent peaks and noise are suppressed with a certain soft threshold value, whereas signal and noise in raw data are resolved and eliminated in L₁ problems. These two algorithms were systematically programmed to produce high quality of NMR spectra, including a better solvent peak suppression with good spectral line shapes and better noise suppression with a higher signal to noise ratio value up to 27% spectral enhancement, which is applicable to multidimensional NMR data processing.
Fermentation of food waste in the presence of different concentrations of salt ($Na^+$) and ammonia was conducted to investigate the interrelation of $Na^+$ and ammonia content in bio-hydrogen production. Analysis of the experimental results showed that peak hydrogen production differed according to the ammonia and $Na^+$ concentration. The peak hydrogen production levels achieved were (97.60, 91.94, and 49.31) ml/g COD at (291.41, 768.75, and 1,037.89) mg-N/L of ammonia and (600, 1,000, and 4,000) $mg-Na^+/L$ of salt concentration, respectively. At peak hydrogen production, the ammonia concentration increased along with increasing salt concentration in the medium. This means that for peak hydrogen production, the C/N ratio decreased with increasing salt content in the medium. The butyrate/acetate (B/A) ratio was higher in proportion to the bio-hydrogen production (r-square: 0.71, p-value: 0.0006). Different concentrations of $Na^+$ and ammonia in the medium also produced diverse microbial communities. Klebsiella sp., Enterobacter sp., and Clostridium sp. were predominant with high bio-hydrogen production, while Lactococcus sp. was found with low bio-hydrogen production.
This study identifies efficient earthquake intensity measures (IMs) for seismic performances and fragility evaluations of the reactor containment building (RCB) in the advanced power reactor 1400 (APR1400) nuclear power plant (NPP). The computational model of RCB is constructed using the beam-truss model (BTM) for nonlinear analyses. A total of 90 ground motion records and 20 different IMs are employed for numerical analyses. A series of nonlinear time-history analyses are performed to monitor maximum floor displacements and accelerations of RCB. Then, probabilistic seismic demand models of RCB are developed for each IM. Statistical parameters including coefficient of determination (R2), dispersion (i.e. standard deviation), practicality, and proficiency are calculated to recognize strongly correlated IMs with the seismic performance of the NPP structure. The numerical results show that the optimal IMs are spectral acceleration, spectral velocity, spectral displacement at the fundamental period, acceleration spectrum intensity, effective peak acceleration, peak ground acceleration, A95, and sustained maximum acceleration. Moreover, weakly related IMs to the seismic performance of RCB are peak ground displacement, root-mean-square of displacement, specific energy density, root-mean-square of velocity, peak ground velocity, Housner intensity, velocity spectrum intensity, and sustained maximum velocity. Finally, a set of fragility curves of RCB are developed for optimal IMs.
