  • 본 논문에서는 방송/통신 융합을 위한 차세대 기가급 케이블 전송 시스템으로서 디지털방송의 화두가 되고 있는 DOCSIS 3.0 고속데이터전송 시스템의 기술 및 동향에 관하여 분석하고 상향변조 기가급 케이블 전송 시스템 구현을 위해 가변 부호율을 제공하는 RS 인코더를 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 RS 인코더는 VHDL을 이용하여 설계하였고 ModelSim Tool을 이용한 시뮬레이션 분석을 통하여 동작을 검증하였다.

Prohibition of Boundary Image Sticking in AC Plasma Display Panel Using Vacuum Sealing Method

  • This paper shows that the boundary image sticking can be prohibited completely by using the vacuum sealing process, which means that the residual impurities such as nitrogen or oxygen can be a critical factor inducing the boundary image sticking. The production of boundary image sticking was checked in the test panel fabricated by the $N_2$ or $O_2$ flow during the vacuum sealing process. As a result, the boundary image sticking did not appear in the case of $N_2flow$, whereas the boundary image sticking was observed in the case of $O_2$ flow even though the test panel was fabricated by the vacuum sealing process.

  • Ozonized DI water was supplied to make alkaline cleaning solutions to replace SCI chemicals in a bath with and without recirculation. With recirculation, low dissolved ozone and low pH cause lower particle removal efficiency (PRE) of 75%. However, direct supply of ozonized water with $NH_4OH$ to a bath without recirculation resulted in higher PRE over 93 %.

  • In spite of adoption of Intact Stability Code Part A as mandatory, the accidents have been occurred frequently caused by dynamic stability. Therefore International Maritime Organization (IMO) is revising the Intact Stability Code to prevent the cause of accidents. The result of 4th meeting of Sub-committee on Ship Design and Construction (SDC), five mode of the cause was defined and establishing each draft regulations. We consider physical background, mathematical description, draft regulations for five failure mode and sample calculations for ships built by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding.

  • It is known that the address discharge delay time during an address period strongly depends on the wall charge leakage. It was observed that the wall charge leakage during an address period is related to both the address width and the ambient temperature. Accordingly, the effects of address electrode width on the address discharge and wall voltage variation during an address period were examined under variable temperatures.

  • Some important properties of the liquid crystal molecules containing fluoro-isothiocyanated molecules have been studied using quantum chemical calculations and the results were correlated with respect to the structure of the molecules. Dielectric anisotropy, birefringence have been predicted for several unknown structures. The Maier-Meier, Vuks equation were used for the dielectric anisotropy and birefringence calculation. The results obtained by empirical approximation showed a good agreement with experiment ones.

  • 잉크젯용 저온 Cu ink의 소성 특성을 향상 시키기 위해 소성 분위기롤 조절 하였다. 일반적으로 Cu는 산화가 잘되는 물질로 환원 분위기에서 소성이 이루어져야만 하기 때문에 acid, alcohol, aldehyde, ether와 같은 환원제를 소성시 사용하였다. 또한 1종의 환원제가 아닌 2종의 환원제롤 일정 비율로 섞음으로써 환원력를 조절하여 소성 품질을 향상 시킬 수 있었으며, 이러한 환원 분위기 조절을 통하여 300도 이하 저온에서 소성이 가능하였다. 또한 optical microscopy와 field emission scanning electron microscopy를 통해 막 품질과 미세조직의 치밀도를 확인하였고 배선 재료로써의 적용을 위해 resistance를 측정 비교하였다.

  • We propose software algorithms which provide the characteristics of acceleration/deceleration essential to high dynamic performance at the transient state where industrial robots or CNC machine tools start and stop. The path error, which is one of the most significant factors in performance evaluation of industrial robots and CNC machine tools, is analyzed for linear, exponential, and parabolic acceleration/deceleration algorithms in case of circular interpolation. The analysis shows that the path error depends on the acceleration/deceleration routine and the servo control system. In experiments, the entire control algorithm including the proposed acceleration/deceleration algorithms is executed on the motion control system with a floating point digital signal processor(DSP) TMS320C30 as a CPU. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are very effective in controlling axes of motion of industrial robots or CNC machine tools with the desired characteristics.

  • In this paper, we demonstrate the deformation of TFT-LCD panel using numerical analysis based on the finite element method. To make better uniform cell gap and less stress at a photo-definable spacer (spacer), we have investigated process and design factors such as amount of liquid crystal (LC), spacer density, area, height, and material property. Furthermore we optimized design factors and achieved the robust design through the simulation.

디젤 매연 필터에서 퇴적되는 입자상 물질의 퇴적량 예측 (Prediction of Particulate Matter Being Accumulated in a Diesel Particulate Filter)

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) has been developed to optimize engine out emission, especially particulate matter (PM). One of the main important factors for developing the DPF is estimation of soot mass being accumulated inside the DPF. Evaluation of pressure drop over the DPF is a simple way to estimate the accumulated soot mass but its accuracy is known to be limited to certain vehicle operating conditions. The method to compensate drawback is adoption of integrating time history of the engine out PM and burning soot. Present study demonstrates current status of the soot estimation methods including the results from the engine test benches and vehicles.
