  • This paper focuses on the policy framework about "Quantitative and Qualitative Easing (QQE)" of Japan, and analyzes reasons why the policy goal was not reached. The QQE was introduced by the Bank of Japan in 2013 with the purpose of meeting the price stability target of 2% and getting out of deflation that prevents sustained price decline. However, despite the implementation of the bold monetary easing policy unprecedented in the world, the policy goal was not achieved as of June 2018. As a result of analyzing the causes, the following three structural factors were confirmed. 1) The rise in prices by QQE was limited because Japan's consumer price is strongly depending on import price. 2) The effect is high degree of uncertainty and limited because theoretical framework of reflationist which adopted QQE depends on "expectation formation" by "self-fulfilling expectation" and "multiple equilibria". 3) It was confirmed that the expansion of the monetary base did not lead to money stock due to the existence of Japanese liquidity trap, long-term low interest rate policy.

  • Continuous subway line expansion over the years in Seoul metropolitan area has contributed to improved accessibility to public transport. Since public transport accessibility has a significant impact on housing decisions, quantitative analysis of correlation between housing prices and public transport accessibility is regarded as one of the most important factors for planning better housing policies. This study defines the reduction of traveling time resulted from the construction of new metro stations despite them not being the closest stations as 'Network Expansion Effect', and seeks to understand how the Network Expansion Effect impacts on housing prices. The study analyzes monthly rent data converted from upfront lump sum deposit, so called Jeonse in Korea, from 2012 to 2018, through 'A Modified Repeat Sales Model.' As a result, the effect of 'Network Expansion' on rental prices in Seoul has stronger during the period of 2017 to 2018 than the base period of 2012 to 2014, which suggests the 'Network Expansion' has a meaningful effect on rent. In addition, in comparison between the most and the least affected group of apartments by 'Network Expansion Effect', the most affected group has more price increase than the least affected group. These findings also indicate that different levels of 'Network Expansion Effect' have various influences on the value of residential real estate properties.

  • One of the strenuous problems in orthodontic procedures is postretention stability and retention against relapse. Many investigative trial had been done to disclose the factors associated with relapse and effective prescription to stave off, however, the nature of these jeopardies remained obscure. The objective was to investigate the long-term stability and quantitative changes of dental arches subsequently after Class I nonextraction treatment. Study models, cephalometric headfilms of 26 samples which were taken before, after teatment and postretention were employed to measure the interdental width of corresponding buccal teeth, overbite, overjet and the inclination of incisors and molars. Statistical analysis was carried to compare each measurements across the time period, and followings were brought around. 1. The quantitative amount of relapse in overbite presented positive correlation with the amount of changes through the treatment. 2. Stability of intercanine width was so far secure in the case the expansion had been done through. 3. The amount of changes in intercanine width of the lower regardless of expansion or contraction manifested less than the upper, however, the relapse ratio got high. 4. The upper and lower incisors were likely to be labioversive, and remained stable after retention. 5. The first molars of the upper and lower were conceivably tipped back immediately after treatment and returned to the original angulation. The expansion of intermolar width stayed stable across the time scheme after treatment It was suggested that the maintenance of intercanine width of lower was pertinent to perform the postretention stabilityv and the expansion of dental arch shoed be confined within physiologic boundaries of the patients.

  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a typical application field of cordierite (Mg2Al4Si5O18) honeycomb. Green body for DPF honeycomb was extruded using slurry paste and sintered at the temperature range of 980~1450℃. Quantitative crystal phase analysis was carried out by using Rietveld refinement method for powder XRD data. In conjunction with the quantitative Rietveld analysis, SEM-EDS analysis was carried for the crystal phases (indialite, cordierite, cristobalite, alumina, spinel, mullite, pro-enstatite). After removing amorphous phase on the sintered surfaces by chemical etching method, the shape and composition of the crystal phases can be clearly identified by SEM-EDS method. By combining the Rietveld refinement method and SEM-EDS analysis, crystal phase evolution process in DPF cordierite ceramics could be clarified. In addition, the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the DPF honeycombs were measured and compared with the calculated CTEs based on the quantitative crystal phase analysis results.

  • In terms of the size of aquaculture farms and production volume, inland freshwater aquaculture is much smaller than marine aquaculture in Korea. However, freshwater aquaculture provides fish which is not produced in the sea. Freshwater aquaculture plays an important role in the efficient use of resources, development of local areas and economy vitalization in under - developed areas. freshwater aquaculture also helps ecosystem recovery by stocking farmed fry. As addressed above, inland freshwater aquaculture plays various roles and can not be ignored. However, freshwater aquaculture has been off the interest of fisheries authority. Considering a series of changes in the circumstances such as the government's disapproval of pen - raised aquaculture, higher standard for discharged water from aquaculture farms and a rapid increase in import of low price fish from other countries, it is difficult to expect the quantitative expansion of the freshwater aquaculture any more. Furthermore, freshwater aquaculture lost the trust of people because of the use of Malachite green, and the consumption of farmed product plummeted last year. Even though it would be difficult to expect the quantitative expansion, we could expect qualitative growth and let the inland freshwater aquaculture keep playing the own roles. In order to achieve competitive advantage and regain the trust by providing safer farmed product, the government's support and freshwater aquaculture industry's active and voluntary efforts are very important. This paper suggests several points for the future oriented inland freshwater aquaculture in Korea such as strategic intensive development of selected species, the technical improvement and its diffusion, increased cooperation among the government authority, industry and scientists.

  • Although the General Agricultural Fishing Village Development Project had a significant impact on the landscape formation and management in rural area, the rural landscape planning and project sectors was not stable by fluctuation variables. On the basic understanding the institutional status of rural landscape planning, some conclusions could be discussed as follows through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative changes and the background factors. The rural landscape plan lacked its own legal and institutional foundations, and the landscape project of the General Agricultural Fishing Village Development Project was mainly focused on the environment-improving H/W project for expanding the basic living infrastructures. In order to reflect the characteristics of the region and become independent rural landscape management, it is necessary to change the contents so that the S/W business such as the deepening landscape awareness and empowerment linked with improving the physical landscape. To this end, it is necessary to establish a foundation for the rural landscape planning system to have its own status, and it seems to seek to supplement with what is included S/W contents reflecting the context of higher level landscape planning. The landscape sector of the General Agricultural Fishing Village Development Project proved to be in the process of shrinking in both quantity and quality, despite the temporary expansion in the past. In addition, considering the distortion of the contents of landscape projects in rural sites, it seems that the rural landscape-related public project are now in a position to seek a new phase change beyond quantitative expansion. In particular, along with institutional improvements to secure the independent status of rural landscape planning that contributes to village community regeneration and social sustainability through the role of intermediary support organizations in landscape management activities. Through the integrated landscape plan, which is established in advance and led by the residents in the early stages, there is a need to change the direction to enhance meaning of the landscape planning goes beyond the facility design or space improvement.

  • Purpose: Japan established the convalescent rehabilitation wards, corresponding to Korea's rehabilitation medical institutions, in 2000 and developed it into the present system through continuous revisions. This study sought to analyze the issues and tasks faced by Japan segregated by the period of revision of convalescent rehabilitation ward-related medical fee regulations, through a literature review and further aimed to explore the direction of development of domestic rehabilitation medical institutions. Methods: Ten revisions of the medical fee regulations were classified into three stages based on quality evaluation: (1) the quantitative expansion stage (2000-2006); (2) quality evaluation introduction stage (2008-2014); and (3) quality evaluation maturity stage (2016-2020). Results: The following issues and tasks emerged: (1) For the quantitative expansion stage; insufficient rehabilitation within the ward, insufficient after-hour rehabilitation, insufficient connection with acute-stage hospitals and maintenance facilities, and the low ratio of specialists. (2) For the quality evaluation introduction stage; disparity in the manpower between institutions, the necessity of a 365-day rehabilitation system, avoidance of critical patients, and the problem that an increase in the amount of rehabilitation did not lead to a qualitative improvement. 3) For the quality evaluation maturity stage; cream-skimming issues in selecting patients, inappropriate evaluation of rehabilitation effects, and the necessity of follow-up measures after discharge. Conclusion: It is worth referring to the established regulations in Japan, and concurrently it is necessary to strengthen the evaluation of the structures, processes, and results when operating and evaluating rehabilitation medical institutions in Korea taking into account the side effects that could be identified in Japan.

  • Under high agricultural automation in rice farming, cultivation acreage expansion can be considered for the economies of scale. Also, considering the circumstances of higher ratio in leased farms than independent farms, Long-term Leasing Business of Farmland can be the most public and transparent method to expand cultivation acreage for lease farming. Therefore, this research observes the various factors such as application motives, satisfaction, and demands of Long-term Leasing Business of Farmland, which the importance is on the rise and serves as a means to increase agricultural expansion, as well as its operational performance analysis. The research results and implications are as follows. Long-term Leasing Business of Farmland have positive effects such as ensuring stable farming through documental contract, providing convenience because the lease contractor requires no meetings during the contract period, providing opportunities to expand the farm size, and acquiring economical gain which is linked to satisfaction aspects of the businesses. On the other hand, demands such as strengthened business advertisement, writing business documents by correlating with related organizations, and clear lease price configuration were made by the businesses. To bring improvements, this research proposes; 1) expanding support to related businesses, 2) providing convenience through related organization correlations, and 3) configuring clear lease prices considering the regional conditions.
