Purpose: The purpose of the study was to comprehensively explore the factors influencing quality of life and its measurements in patients with hypertension. Methods: Based on the PRISMA statement and NECA systematic literature review guideline, a systematic literature review was conducted in this study. To search studies related to quality of life in patients with hypertension, multiple electronic databases were used using a combination of key words 'hypertension' and 'quality of life'. Throughout this process, a total of 983 studies were identified. Then, the second selection processes and quality assessment were conducted by four investigators independently. Finally, a total of 19 studies were included for the analysis. Results: Results showed that quality of life was focused on the health-related quality of life, and the SF-36 was one of the most frequently used measurements. The factors influencing quality of life were categorized into sociodemographic, health-related, health behavioral, and psychosocial variables. Conclusion: Researchers need to consider these multiple factors to promote quality of life in patients with hypertension.
Purpose: The purpose of this meta-analysis isto identify social psychological factors related to quality of life and estimate the effect sizes of the factors among patients with strokes. Methods: Thirteen studies with a total of 1,814 patients published from the earliest records to January 8, 2017 were selected through a systematic process of searching the literature, and evaluated against influencing factors of quality of life and their effect sizes. Pooled effect sizes were calculated using the random effect model. Meta-analysis was conducted by R software. Results: The following influencing factors had a strong association with quality of life with stroke: depression (r=-.50; 95% CI: -0.63~-0.46), activities of daily living (r=.46; 95% CI: 0.35~0.56), and social support (r=.40; 95% CI: 0.24~0.53). Conclusion: The findings confirm that depression, activities of daily living and social support are associated with quality of life among patients with stroke survivors. We recommend that any intervention program to improve the quality of life with stroke patients consider addressing these modifiable influencing factors.

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to identify factors that influence health-related quality of life of patients who have had knee or hip arthroplasty. Factors included sleep disorders, pain, activities of daily living, and depression. Methods: The participants in this research were 97 patients within one year after receiving knee or hip arthroplasty surgery and who regularly visited a hospital outpatient department. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise regression analysis with the SPSS program. Results: Sleep disorders, pain, activities of daily living, and depression had significant correlations with health related quality of life. Factors influencing health-related quality of life among arthroplasty patients were the length of time since surgery, sleep disorders, activities of daily living, and depression. These factors explained 58% of the participants' health-related quality of life. Conclusion: The results show that various factors can affect patients' health-related quality of life following joint replacement surgery. The findings indicate that sleep disorders and depression should receive continued attention after the arthroplasty. It is also necessary to develop appropriate nursing intervention programs to lower depression and increase patient participation in daily living activities.
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the factors related to quality of life in elderly. Methods: This was a descriptive correlation study. The subjects were 356 elderly over 65 years old. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression with a SAS statistics. Results: The predictors of quality of life in elderly were depression, life satisfaction, self esteem, economic state, family support, perceived health state, and age. These factors explained 71.9% of the total variance. Conclusion: These findings suggest the need to develop nursing strategy to improve quality of life in elderly. To improve the quality of life in elderly, the above major influencing factors should be considered.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the degree of dry mouth and oral health-related quality of life and to identify factors contributing to oral health-related quality of life for community-dwelling elders. Methods: A descriptive correlational study design was used. Participants were 156 older adults from two senior welfare centers. Data were collected on February 21, 22 and 29, 30, 2009 using structured questionnaires. Enter type multiple regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing oral health-related quality of life according to general and oral health characteristics. Results: There were significant differences in oral health-related quality of life according to living arrangement, insurance, smoking, number of natural teeth, and denture type. The oral health-related quality of life had significant correlations with the number of chronic disease, number of medications, and dry mouth. Factors influencing oral health-related quality of life for community-dwelling older adults were dry mouth, number of chronic disease, and medical aid, which explained about 47.9% of total variance. Conclusion: These results indicate that in order to promote oral health-related quality of life for older adults, prevention or management of chronic diseases as well as oral health and dry mouth are needed for this population, and especially economically poor elders.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to explore factors related quality of life among cancer survivor in order to identify strategies for cancer survivors to go back to normal life and carry on stable and high quality life. Methods : This study used the $1^{st}$ to $6^{th}$ data of Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging(KLoSA). The sample of this study consisted of 118 cancer survivors, all of whom were diagnosed with cancer for more than 10 years later in 2016. Results : Regression analysis of major factors related to the quality of life of elderly cancer survivors showed that the results of 2006 and 2016 were different. In 2006, factors related to cancer were highly correlated with quality of life, but in 2016, it was associated with pain and depression. Conclusions : The results of this study confirm that the factors related to quality of life in cancer survivors change with survival period. Therefore, this study suggests comprehensive care strategies based on the stage of survivorship.
Purpose: This study was a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the factors related to quality of life in heart transplant recipients. Methods: To identify studies that suggested the factors related to the quality of life in heart transplant recipients, we searched the articles published from 1974 to November 2018 using Six databases, PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Cochrane, KMBASE and RISS. A total of 22 studies were selected out of 5,234 for the systematic review and meta-analysis on the basis of the PRISMA flow. The quality of study was assessed by assessment tool form the NIH and meta-analysis was performed using the 'R 3.5.2' version to analyze the correlated effect sizes. Results: Factors related to quality of life in heart transplant recipients were categorized into six domains based on the health-related quality of life model introduced by Ferrans: individual, environmental, biological function, symptoms, functional status, and general health perception. In the meta-analysis, 34 factors were used and 17 factors having significant effect sizes were as follows: self-efficacy, demoralization, perceived control, current occupational status, age, marital status, health promotion life style in the individual characteristics; stress in environmental characteristics; physical function status, creatinine level, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in biological function; anxiety, depression, symptom frequency and distress in symptoms domain; coping, self-care compliance in functional status. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the multi-dimensional factors influencing the quality of life in heart transplant recipients and provide the evidence for developing effective interventions for improving the quality of life of recipients.
Purpose: This study was done to assess the home nursing and quality of life of parents caring for preschool children with atopic dermatitis and to identify the factors which influence quality of life. Methods: Participants in the study were 149 parents of preschool children with atopic dermatitis attending a kindergarten and a nursery school in S city. Parent completed a set of questionnaires (assessing demographic factors, home nursing, quality of life). Descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score for home nursing was $3.06{\pm}0.38$ and for quality of life, $4.18{\pm}0.74$. The lowest scored question in the 13 question on quality of life was that of frustration related to itching sensation. Significant factors that affect quality of life were severity and home care. These variables explained 21% of variance in quality of life (F=21.17, p<.001). Conclusion: The results indicate that severity of childhood atopic dermatitis and home nursing impact on the quality of life of parents. Using the above findings, health professionals who work with children with atopic dermatitis and their parents need to develop specific nursing interventions that will promote health of children with atopic dermatitis and quality of life in their parents.

Purpose: This study was to investigate the factors affecting health-related quality of life in Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy(BPH) Patients. Method: Data was collected on 259 outpatients who were receiving ambulatory treatment after having been diagnosed with BPH. The measurement tool for the quality of life was developed by Epstein and Deverka(1992) and adapted by Kim Yeong-hye(1997). Data was analyzed with the number, percentage, and the mean and multiple regression, by using the SPSS 12.0 program. Result: The mean quality of life in the sexual-life domain respectively. Factors affecting the quality of life in BPH patients were the symptom of BPH(51.4%), the perceived health state(3.6%), and self-efficacy (1.6%). These three factors described 56.6% of quality of life. Conclusion: It's necessary to have an intervention plan that can enhance the most influential disease-symptom management in a patient, and self-efficacy when planning a nursing education program aiming to promote quality of life in BPH patients.
Purpose: In this study factors affecting quality of life in mothers who have children with precocious puberty were identified. Methods: The participants were 102 mothers of children with precocious puberty. From September 12 to September 30, 2016, data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: Regression analysis showed that the model's explanatory power was 45%(F=28.71, p<.001). Role stress (t=-4.83, p<.001), objective burden (t=-2.71, p<.001), and average monthly income (t=4.12, p<.001) were factors affecting quality of life among these mothers. The most influential factor was role stress (${\beta}=-.41$), which showed a negative correlation. Conclusion: Role stress and objective burden were major factors that decreased the quality of life in these. The findings indicate that effective strategy programs for reducing role stress and objective burden are necessary to improve the quality of life in mothers of children with precocious puberty.
