밀 품질평가 현황과 검사제도 (Current Wheat Quality Criteria and Inspection Systems of Major Wheat Producing Countries)

  • On the purpose to suggest an advanced scheme in assessing the domestic wheat quality, this paper reviewed the inspection systems of wheat in major wheat producing countries as well as the quality criteria which are being used in wheat grading and classification. Most wheat producing countries are adopting both classifications of class and grade to provide an objective evaluation and an official certification to their wheat. There are two main purposes in the wheat classification. The first objectives of classification is to match the wheat with market requirements to maximize market opportunities and returns to growers. The second is to ensure that payments to glowers aye made on the basis of the quality and condition of the grain delivered. Wheat classes has been assigned based on the combination of cultivation area, seed-coat color, kernel and varietal characteristics that are distinctive. Most reputable wheat marketers also employ a similar approach, whereby varieties of a particular type are grouped together, designed by seed coat colour, grain hardness, physical dough properties, and sometimes more precise specification such as starch quality, all of which are genetically inherited characteristics. This classification in simplistic terms is the categorization of a wheat variety into a commercial type or style of wheat that is recognizable for its end use capabilities. All varieties registered in a class are required to have a similar end-use performance that the shipment be consistent in processing quality, cargo to cargo and year to year, Grain inspectors have historically determined wheat classes according to visual kernel characteristics associated with traditional wheat varieties. As well, any new wheat variety must not conflict with the visual distinguishability rule that is used to separate wheats of different classes. Some varieties may possess characteristics of two or more classes. Therefore, knowledge of distinct varietal characteristics is necessary in making class determinations. The grading system sets maximum tolerance levels for a range of characteristics that ensure functionality and freedom from deleterious factors. Tests for the grading of wheat include such factors as plumpness, soundness, cleanliness, purity of type and general condition. Plumpness is measured by test weight. Soundness is indicated by the absence or presence of musty, sour or commercially objectionable foreign odors and by the percentage of damaged kernels that ave present in the wheat. Cleanliness is measured by determining the presence of foreign material after dockage has been removed. Purity of class is measured by classification of wheats in the test sample and by limitation for admixtures of different classes of wheat. Moisture does not influence the numerical grade. However, it is determined on all shipments and reported on the official certificate. U.S. wheat is divided into eight classes based on color, kernel Hardness and varietal characteristics. The classes are Durum, Hard Red Spring, Hard Red Winter, Soft Red Winter, Hard White, soft White, Unclassed and Mixed. Among them, Hard Red Spring wheat, Durum wheat, and Soft White wheat are further divided into three subclasses, respectively. Each class or subclass is divided into five U.S. numerical grades and U.S. Sample grade. Special grades are provided to emphasize special qualities or conditions affecting the value of wheat and are added to and made a part of the grade designation. Canadian wheat is also divided into fourteen classes based on cultivation area, color, kernel hardness and varietal characteristics. The classes have 2-5 numerical grades, a feed grade and sample grades depending on class and grading tolerance. The Canadian grading system is based mainly on visual evaluation, and it works based on the kernel visual distinguishability concept. The Australian wheat is classified based on geographical and quality differentiation. The wheat grown in Australia is predominantly white grained. There are commonly up to 20 different segregations of wheat in a given season. Each variety grown is assigned a category and a growing areas. The state governments in Australia, in cooperation with the Australian Wheat Board(AWB), issue receival standards and dockage schedules annually that list grade specifications and tolerances for Australian wheat. AWB is managing "Golden Rewards" which is designed to provide pricing accuracy and market signals for Australia's grain growers. Continuous payment scales for protein content from 6 to 16% and screenings levels from 0 to 10% based on varietal classification are presented by the Golden Rewards, and the active payment scales and prices can change with market movements.movements.

HSPF와 다중 저류지 모형을 이용한 농업지역 순환관개에 의한 하천 수질 및 배출부하 영향 분석 (Assessment of stream water quality and pollutant discharge loads affected by recycled irrigation in an agricultural watershed using HSPF and a multi-reservoir model)

  • 순환관개는 농업유역내 하천수를 상류의 농경지로 재투입시켜 관개용수로써 활용하고 기 사용된 용수는 직접유출 또는 기저유출의 형태로 하천으로 회귀되는 관개방식이다. 순환관개는 용수 및 양분 확보 측면에서 장점이 크지만 순환관개 후 발생하는 회귀수는 과투입된 양분을 함유하고 있어 하천 수질에 악영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 순환관개에 따른 하천 수질변화에 대한 정량적 분석은 효율적인 농업용수 공급과 수질관리대책 수립을 위해 반드시 필요하다. 유역내 수문 및 오염물질의 순환, 그리고 하천수질에 대한 정량적 영향을 통합적으로 분석하기 위하여 유역모델이 주로 활용되고 있으나 대부분의 유역모델들은 순환관개에 의한 수질 영향을 모의할 수 있는 기능을 제공하고 있지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) 유역모델과 다중 저류지 모델(Multi-reservoir model)을 연계하여 순환관개 시스템 운영에 따른 하천수질 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구 대상 지역은 경상남도 창녕군 계성천 유역내 순환관개를 시행하고 있는 관곡천 소유역으로 농업활동에 의한 오염물질 배출이 주된 지역이다. 먼저 계성천 및 관곡천을 대상으로 구축된 HSPF모델을 활용하여 관개지역에서의 배출수(직접유출 및 기저유출) 및 하천수에 대한 연간 유량 및 수질 변화 시계열 자료를 생성하고 이를 토대로 자체 구축한 다중저류조 모델을 보정한 후 순환관개 모의에 사용하였다. 다중 저류지 모델에서 관곡천 유역을 관개지역과 관곡천 등 두 개의 하위시스템으로 구성하고 순환관개에 따른 하위시스템내 반응(식물흡수, 흡탈착, 및 소멸) 및 하위시스템 간 물 및 물질(질소 및 인)전달 관계를 모의할 수 있도록 하였다. 최종적으로 순환관개 운영 유무에 따라 총 3개의 시나리오를 구성하여 연간 순환관개용수량 변화에 따른 관곡천 수질영향을 분석하였다.

Effects of Timing of Initial Cutting and Subsequent Cutting on Yields and Chemical Compositions of Cassava Hay and Its Supplementation on Lactating Dairy Cows

  • Two experiments were conducted to examine the production and quality of cassava hay and its utilization in diets for dairy cows. In experiment I, a $2{\times}2$ Factorial arrangement in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications was carried out to determine the effects of different initial (IC) and subsequent cutting (SC) on yield and composition of cassava plant. The results revealed that cassava could produce from 4 to 7 tonne of DM and 1.2 to 1.6 tonne of CP for the first six months after planting. CP content in cassava plant ranged from 20.8 to 28.5% and was affected by different SC regimes. Condensed tannin in cassava foliage ranged from 4.9 to 5.5%. Initial cutting at 2 months with subsequent cutting at 2 month intervals was the optimal to obtain high dry matter and protein yield. In the second experiment, five crossbred Holstein-Friesian cows in mid lactation with an initial live-weight of 505${\pm}6.1kg$ and average milk yield of 10.78${\pm}1.2kg/d$ were randomly assigned in a $5{\times}5$ Latin square design to study the effects of 2 levels of CH (1 and 2 kg/hd/d) and concentrate (1 to 2 kg of milk and 1 to 3 kg of milk) on milk yield and milk composition. The results showed that cassava hay increased rumen $NH_3-N$ and milk urea nitrogen (MUN) (p<0.05). Cassava hay tended to increase milk production and 4% FCM. Milk protein increased in cows fed cassava hay (p<0.05). Moreover, cassava hay could reduce concentrate levels in dairy rations thus resulting in increased economic returns. Cassava hay can be a good source of forage to reduce concentrate supplementation and improve milk quality.

소비자의 악성불평행동 분석 및 기업의 대처행동 조사 연구 (An Analysis of Consumers' Problematic Complaining Behaviors and Firms' Reactions)

  • This study analyzed consumer's harsh complaining behaviors and firm's reactions toward consumers' harsh complaining behavior, and investigated the differences in the firms' reactions according to the characteristics of counselors and customer service centers. In addition, this study attempted to find a strategy and provide guidance regarding consumer's harsh complaining behaviors. The results of this study are discussed below. First, consumer's harsh complaining attitudes were expressed by crude language, violent language, threats, personal attacks, and claims of a high-ranking social position. Consumer's directive, complaining behaviors were repeated on the telephone, and threats of prosecution or disclosure to the public, exposure of habitual product returns, and requests for interviews with superiorsat the representative firm were made. Second, a firm typologies according to its reaction style toward a consumer's harsh complaining behaviors were as follows: Group 1, having a neutral attitude toward consumers and preparation thoroughly regarding their demands; Group 2, having a negative attitude toward consumers and some degree of preparation toward consumers' demands; and finally, Group 3, having a positive attitude toward consumers but offering insufficient reparation regarding consumers' demands. Third, female counselors, counselors having a certified counselor's license, and those much experience working in labor work were more likely to be in Group 3. Male counselors, part-time counselors, and those having experience of many years were more likely to be in Group 2. Group 1 were more likely to have large number of workers at customer service centers, male counselors, and to have large numbers of educational training programs related to the reactions of consumers in the form of dissatisfaction, complaints, how to offer compensation for injuries to consumers, and issues related to PL(product liability). In addition, Group 1 also had more firm level welfare policies related to hight stress levels of consumer counselors and extra types of support regarding harsh consumers. However, Group 2 members were more likely to provide excessive compensation and rewards to harsh consumers. Finally, to react to consumer's harsh complaint efficiently, it was suggested that firms should not treat consumers as harsh consumers, should react to consumers' complaints sincerely, and should take precautionary management efforts as regards consumer dissatisfaction based on better quality control of products. In addition, it was deemed necessary to formulate a management strategy to train competent consumer counselors with a high quality of counselor skill, having standardized and consistent reaction guidance toward consumer complaints and thorough knowledge of compensation rules for consumer injuries and subsequent guidance.

대학에서 창출하는 지적/인적자원에 대한 기업연계 플랫폼: 인문사회계열을 중심으로 (The knowledge and human resources distribution system for university-industry cooperation)

  • 대학은 교육을 통한 인재육성과 더불어, 사회적 가치를 창출할 수 있는 새로운 지식 및 아이디어를 창출하는 것을 주요한 목적으로 한다. 이러한 지적 자원은 비단 교수들이 생산하는 논문에 국한되지 않으며, 학생들로부터 창출되는 창의적인 아이디어, 독창적 문제인식 및 솔루션을 포괄하고 있다. 대학에서 창출되는 주요한 지적자원은 학술적인 지식인 '논문', 교육적 용도의 '강의자료', 텀프로젝트, 공모전 등을 통해 창출되는 창의적 형태의 '아이디어', 그리고 법적인 지적재산권이 확보된 '특허'등이 있다. 그러나, 이러한 대학의 지적 자원은 대부분 강의실 이외의 공간으로 유통되지 못하고 있으며, 대학 내에서조차 체계적으로 관리되지 못한다. 본 연구는 인문사회계열의 대학에서 창출되는 다양한 형태의 지적 자원을 기업에 유통시키고, 이를 통하여 대학의 인적자원이 기업에 연계될 수 있도록 하는 새로운 형태의 시스템 플랫폼을 제안한다. 즉, 대학의 지적자원을 실제로 이를 활용할 기업에게 시스템적으로 유통시킬 수 있는 방안을 연구하였으며, 이와 더불어 대학에서 배출되는 우수한 인재들의 정보를 기업에 함께 전달하여, 산학연계를 공고히 할 수 있는 시스템의 플랫폼을 설계하였다. 이를 위해, 본 연구에서는 시스템의 주요 사용자인 학생 및 교수, 그리고 기업의 실무담당자 총 100명에 대한 사용자 요구도를 조사하고, 이를 토대로 대학의 지적/인적자원에 대한 유통플랫폼 및 이에 대한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 (Graphic User Interface) 프로토타입을 구성하였다. 마지막으로, 제안된 플랫폼을 효과적으로 운영할 수 있는 방안에 대한 정책적 시사점을 제안하였다.

Opportunities for Agricultural Water Management Interventions in the Krishna Western Delta - A case from Andhra Pradesh, India

  • Agricultural water management has gained enormous attention in the developing world to alleviate poverty, reduce hunger and conserve ecosystems in small-scale production systems of resource-poor farmers. The story of food security in the $21^{st}$ century in India is likely t o be closely linked to the story of water security. Today, the water resource is under severe threat. The past experiences in India in general and in Andhra Pradesh in particular, indicated inappropriate management of irrigation has led to severe problems like excessive water depletion, reduction in water quality, water logging, salinization, marked reduction in the annual discharge of some of the rivers, lowering of ground water tables due to pumping at unsustainable rates, intrusion of salt water in some coastal areas etc. Considering the importance of irrigation water resource efficiency, Krishna Western Delta (KWD) of Andhra Pradesh was purposively selected for this in depth study, as the farming community in this area are severely affected due to severe soil salinity and water logging problems and hence, adoption of different water saving crop production technologies deserve special mention. It is quite disappointing that, canals, tube wells and filter points and other wells could not contribute much to the irrigated area in KWD. Due to less contribution from these sources, the net area irrigated also showed declining growth at a rate of -6.15 per cent. Regarding paddy production, both SRI and semi-dry cultivation technologies involves less irrigation cost (Rs. 2475.21/ha and Rs. 3248.15/ha respectively) when compared to transplanted technology (Rs. 4321.58/ha). The share of irrigation cost in Total Operational Cost (TOC) was highest for transplanted technology of paddy (11.06%) followed by semi-dry technology (10.85%) and SRI technology (6.21%). The increased yield and declined cost of cultivation of paddy in SRI and semi-dry production technologies respectively were mainly responsible for the low cost of production of paddy in SRI (Rs. 495.22/qtl) and semi-dry (Rs. 532.81/qtl) technologies over transplanted technology (Rs. 574.93/qtl). This clearly indicates that, by less water usage, paddy returns can be boosted by adopting SRI and semi-dry production technologies. Both the system-level and field-level interventions should be addressed to solve the issues/problems of water management. The enabling environment, institutional roles and functions and management instruments are posing favourable picture for executing the water management interventions in the State of Andhra Pradesh in general and in KWD in particular. This facilitates the farming community to harvest good crop per unit of water resource used in the production programme. To achieve better results, the Farmers' Organizations, Water Users Associations, Department of Irrigation etc., will have to aim at improving productivity per unit of water drop used and this must be supported through system-wide enhancement of water delivery systems and decision support tools to assist farmers in optimizing the allocation of limited water among crops, selection of crops based on farming situations, and adoption of appropriate alternative crops in drought years.

Supplementation of Cassava Hay and Stylo 184 Hay to Replace Concentrate for Lactating Dairy Cows

  • Sixteen multiparous Holstein-Friesian crossbred cows in mid-lactation were blocked according to days in milk (DIM) and previous lactation and randomly assigned according to a Randomized Complete Block (RCB) design with four replications to receive four dietary treatments. The dietary treatments consisted of T1: No cassava hay (CH) or stylo 184 hay (SH) supplementation, supplementation of concentrate to milk yield at 1:2 (control), T2: Supplementation of 1 kg of CH/hd/d, supplementation of concentrate to milk yield at 1:2, T3: Supplementation of 1 kg of CH+SH/hd/d, supplementation of concentrate to milk yield at 1:2, T4: Supplementation of 2 kg of CH+SH/hd/d, supplementation of concentrate to milk yield at 1:3. All animals received Ruzi grass from a cut-and-carry system as roughage source. The feeding trial lasted for 9 weeks. The results revealed that DMI of concentrate of supplemented treatments were significantly lower (p<0.05) than those in the control, but there was no significant difference between T2 and T3. There was no significant difference in forage DM intake between the control and supplemented treatments. CP and NDF digestibility of supplemented treatments were significantly (p<0.05) greater than the control and there were no significant differences among supplemented treatments. Milk yield and 3.5% FCM (14.3, 14.5, 14.7 and 14.8; 13.9, 14.3, 14.3 and 14.6 kg/hd/d, respectively) were not significantly different among treatments. Milk protein percentage of supplemented treatments was significantly (p<0.05) higher than the control, but there were no significant differences among supplemented treatments. There was no significant difference in milk fat percentage between the control and supplemented treatments. However, milk fat percentage tended to be higher for supplemented animals as compared to the control group. There were also no significant differences in lactose, solids-not-fat and total solids percentages among treatments. Cows in supplemented treatments gave incomes over supplement cost (IOSC) of 2.72, 2.74 and 2.93 US$/hd/d, respectively which were greater than for cows on control treatment. Furthermore, IOSC were greatest for cows in T4 as compared to other treatments. Based on this study it was concluded that, feeding cassava hay solely or in combination with stylo 184 hay as a supplemental protein source could be a potential valuable strategy in small-holder dairy farming systems in the tropics. This strategic supplementation significantly reduced concentrate use, which resulted in improved milk yields and milk quality for the supplemented cows. Moreover, it resulted in higher economical returns through increased productivity and lower ratios of concentrate to milk yield, from 1:2 to 1:3.

조생종 벼의 움벼(ratoon-rice)생산 및 움벼의 생육특성 (The Ratooning Potential of Several Early-Ripening Rice Cultivar in Korea)

  • 움벼는 수확된 벼의 그루터기에서 2차 분얼이 발생하여 이로부터 새로운 수확물을 얻어내는 것으로 비교적 평균기온이 높은 대구지역에서의 극 조생종, 조생종 및 중만생종벼의 움벼재배 가능성을 검토하였다. 움벼재배에 적합한 품종은 극조생인 진부올, 조운, 조생종인 주남조생이 가능한 것으로 판단되며, 움벼의 생육기간은 생리적 혹은 환경적인 작기의 종료로 본포의 생육기간보다 짧았다. 초장은 36~70%로 짧고, 이삭수도 줄어들었으며 특히 이삭수는 품종별 차이가 현저하였다. 출수 소요일수는 본포 벼의 수전일수가 3~6일 인데 비해 움벼의 경우 출수시작부터 출수 정지까지 오랜 기간 출수가 진행되었다. 본 시험에서 움벼생산이 가능한 세가지 조생품종에 대하여 본포의 생육기간은 110~112일 정도에 비해 움벼의 생육기간은 60~65일 정도로 최소 1개월 정도 생육기간이 짧았으며 수확량은 본포수량의 25~33%정도로 나타났다. 본포에서 생산된 쌀에 비해 움벼에서 생산된 쌀의 단백질함량과 아밀로스함량이 유의하게 높았다. ToYo 미도메터가 나타내는 간접 식미치인 윤기치가 본포에서 수확한 쌀보다 높게 다소 높게 나타났는데 이는 아밀로스 함량이 본포보다 움벼에서 높게 나타났기 때문인 것으로 판단되며, 밥의 외관, 경도, 점도 및 발란스 수치로 환산하는 취반 식미값의 경우는 본포에서 수확한 쌀로 지은 밥에 비해 움벼는 현저하게 낮았다. 본포 수확벼에 비해 움벼로 지은 밥의 경도와 탄력성은 같거나 높아지고, 점성과 찰성은 떨어지는 경향이었다. 본포와 움벼 종자의 발아력은 조운벼를 제외한 진부올과 주남조생의 경우 통계적 유의성이 없었다.

  • 포용적 비즈니스는 개발도상국의 빈곤층 사람들의 경제적 자립과 삶의 질 증진을 지원하기 위한 목적으로 추진되는 사회적 비즈니스이다. 포용적 비즈니스는 개발협력의 관점에서 전통적으로 '원조'의 대상으로 인식되어온 빈곤층의 사람들을 시장기반의 경제활동에 참여시킴으로써 소득창출과 경제적 자립 등의 개발효과를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 개발협력방식의 새로운 방안으로 부상하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 포용적 비즈니스가 어떠한 방식으로 개발도상국 빈곤층 시장의 다양한 장벽을 극복하고 사회적 가치와 경제적 수익을 동시에 창출하는지 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 토대로 포용적 비즈니스 모델과 유형을 분석하는 분석틀을 수립하였다. 그리고 다중사례연구방식에 기반하여 민-관 협력을 통해 수행되는 사회적 기업의 포용적 비즈니스 17개 사례를 선정하여 이들의 비즈니스 모델이 지닌 특성과 비즈니스 유형을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 민-관협력에 기반한 포용적 비즈니스의 가치제안 메커니즘, 가치창출 메커니즘, 가치확보 메커니즘별 특성을 도출하였으며, 빈곤층을 대상으로 사회적·경제적 가치를 창출하는 방식을 유형으로 제시한다. 본 연구결과는 포용적 비즈니스 모델에 대한 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제시한다.

  • This article is an attempt to explain, at least in part, the contemporary Korean women's consciousness of Western Dreasses. As time changes, the role of clothing undergoes varisous transitions, while values and ways of life are constantly in change. It is, therefore, proper and appropriate to recognize as among the major aspects of social psychology such phenomenon as interests, understanding of clothing, the choice of a dress, and attitudes toward clothing, etc. The purpose of this study is to discover problems concerning and their clothing and their solutions, by means of a surveying approach. The method of research used is based upon questionares distributed to parents of first-year pupils in elementary schools and to female clerks working in offices, covering the period from August through October, 1976. The number of the questionares distrubuted totalled 600, and 526 were returned to the research to be utilized for analysis. The contents of the survey included such things as values concerning clothing, kinds of clothing and their practical use, the selection of clothing and the method of purchase, fashions, etc. The classification of aquisition are self-made clothing, clothing made to order and ready-made materials. It is composed of 25 items, including affirmative reasons as well as negative ones. The processing of the material returned was made by using the computer, and based upon classifications such as ages, monthly income, occupations; thus diagraming the result in percentages. The conclusion made and the improvements proposed are as follows: 1. The values of clothing were placed on the expression of the wearer's personality (32.7) and on eauty(28. 6%). The lower age group places is stress upon the expression of personality, while the higher age group stresses beauty. About 50% of wearers are contented with their clothing, their clothing, the rest of whom them indicating their dissatisfaction with what they wear. As to designs at the time of selection, about 46% indicated their preference of personal expression, 31.8% on usefulness. In selecting material, practicality is emphasized; in selecting patterns, single color is preferred. In short, personal expression and esthetic values are primary, with consideration of practicality in mind. 2. The classification of clothing according to their uses indicates the highest numbers in normal wear (home wears) and clothings to be worn outside home. As to evening dresses, (party dress) only one or two articles were checked by many, and no such article was clamed to be possessed by most. The highest ratio of wearing was shown in the case of home wear (47.3%) and clothing to be worn outside the home, which is 55.8%. The budget for one article of clothing was greatest in the case of home wear, and clothing worn outside the home. Many used both kinds of articles for the same purpose. It is desirable, therefore, that the kinds of clothing should be varied according to the purpose for which they are worn, and that clothing appropriate for that purpose should be worn. 3. The motivation for purchasing clothing was highly chosen in the item of seasonal change, which was 55.7%; Clothing deliberately made was indicated by 45.2%. In the mothods of purchasing clothing, clothing made to order and ready-made was indicated by 44.4%, which is the highest; Clothing made to order was 25.4%, and self-sewing was 1.1%, which is the lowest. It is generally believed that ready-made clothing is cheaper, but it is not necessarily so. In consideration of the quality of clothing, self-sewing is a necessity, and it is desirable that it should be encouraged. (3) Problems involved in ready-made clothing, such as designs, skills, size (fitting) should be eliminated. When these problems are scientifically gotten rid of, it is possible that affirmative returns will be expected. Affirmative responses such as "Ready-made clothing is economical," "You can select there on the spot," are good signs that many women expect to wear ready-made clothing. It is in this sense that the prospect for ready-made clothing is brighter when much development for ready-made clothing is on the way. 4. Much concern for fashion are checked in such item of questions as "Fashionable clothing in the show window," "Clothes worn by women." The first item was checked by 50.1 %, and the second was checked by 48.6%. The reason for following fashion is "Because many people wear them," which was indicated by 30.4%. The reason for not following fashion is "It is too expensive," which was checked by 29.6%.
