Effects of the Auriculotherapy on Menstrual Cramps, Dysmenorrhea and Skin Resistance Variability(SRV) of the Female University Students (이혈요법이 여대생의 월경통, 월경곤란증 및 피부저항변이도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of auriculotherapy on menstrual cramps, dysmenorrhea and skin resistance variability(SRV) of the female nursing students. This study was a pre-test and post-test with non-equivalent groups design. The subjects were 64 female university students experiencing dysmenorrhea in Cheonan and Gyeongju; 31 for the treatment group and 33 for the sham treatment group. The subjects of the treatment group received auriculotherapy twice a week for 5 weeks and sham treatment group received sham auriculotherapy using tape. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN12.0 program. The menstrual cramps, negative emotions about the menstruation and skin resistance in the treatment group was significantly less than in the sham treatment group. However, there were no statistical differences in autonomic nervous system reactions. Based on these results, auriculotherapy could improve the quality of life for dysmenorrhea of female university students. However, further studies are necessary to support the effect of auriculotherapy and the scientific validity of skin resistance variability(SRV).

Design of Fault-Tolerant Node Architecture based on SCM in Optical Burst Switching Networks (광 버스트 스위칭 망에서 장애에 둔감한 SCM 기반의 노드 구조 설계)

  • In optical burst switching(OBS) networks, the ingress edge router assembles packets in the same class queue into the appropriate size of burst. A burst control packet(BCP) is generated for channel reservation of corresponding data burst and sent earlier than the corresponding data burst with an offset time. Offset time is determined considering the number of hops from source to destination and the required quality of service(QoS). After offset time, the burst data is passed through tile pre-configured optical switches without any O/E/O conversion. But a failure in OBS networks may lead to the loss of bursts until the ingress nodes receive the failure indication signal. This results in a significant degradation in QoS. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a fault-tolerant node architecture based on sub-carrier multiplexing to reduce the effects of failure in OBS networks. The Performance of the proposed fault-tolerant node architecture exhibits considerable improvement as compared with the previous ones.

  • Nuclear industries have faced unfavorable circumstances such as an obsolescence of the instrumentation and control system, and therefore nuclear society is striving to resolve this issue fundamentally. IEC and IAEA judge that FPGA technology is a good replacement for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) of Nuclear Instrumentation and Control System. FPGAs are currently highlighted as an alternative means for obsolete control systems. Because the main function inside an FPGA is initially developed as software, good software quality can impact the reliability of an FPGA-based controller. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a software development aspect strategy that enhances the reliability of an FPGA-based controller. In terms of software development, HDL-Programmed Device (HPD) Development Life Cycle is applied into FPGA-based Controller. The burn-in test and environmental(temperature) test should be performed in order to apply into nuclear instrumentation and control system. Therefore it is ensured that the developed FPGA-based controller are normally operated for 352 hours and 92 hours in test chamber of Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM).

  • Recently, the quality of the incident of school violence is getting worse and the frequency of its occurrence is gradually increasing. One of the biggest reasons that violence in schools does not reduce is because the attitude that they mean to hide damage from the violence, thus the improvement of such conditions enables school violence to decrease in the short-term effect. This study designed an intelligent reporting platform to prevent additional violence and victim's suicide, by related agencies and parents reporting the circumstance of school violence real-time, as both victims and attackers register real-time troubles anonymously, at any time, anywhere, then are provided 1:1 counseling and customized services, and all contents of the counseling are accumulated in the intelligent reporting platform.

Thermal Deformation Analysis of L-shaped Composite During Cure Process by Viscoelastic Model (점탄성을 고려한 L-형상 복합재료 성형시 열변형 해석)

  • When curing the composite, the fibers have little thermal deformation, but the resin changes its properties with time and temperature, which leads to residual stress in the product. Residual stress is caused by the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion of the fibers and resin during the curing process and the chemical shrinkage of the resin. This difference causes thermal deformation such as spring-in and warpage. Thermal deformation of composite structure is important issue on quality of product, and it should be considered in manufacturing process. In this study, a subroutine was developed to predict thermal deformation by applying 3-D viscoelastic model. The finite element analysis was verified by comparing the results of the plate analysis of the 2-D viscoelastic model. Spring-in of L-shaped structure was predicted and analyzed by applying the 3-D viscoelastic model.

  • Hydraulic actuators are used widely for industrial machinery. The seal made from elastomer is used as a core part of the actuator, NBR(nitrile butadiene rubber) materials with high quality of oil resistance and abrasion resistance is used widely, requiring excellent characteristic of sealing. According to applied circumstances, the actuators for industrial machinery are used under different temperature situations. In this study, three different kinds of NBR, which is Hs70, 80, 90 are determined as one of hydraulic materials. An experimental investigation is performed to confirm the non-linearity under different temperature ($-10^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C,\;80^{\circ}C,\;100^{\circ}C$) situation, material constants for finite element analysis and plastic deformation in accordance with Load-unload.

  • Streaming video service over wireless and mobile communication networks has received significant interests from both academia and industry recently. Specifically, mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e) is capable of providing high data rate and flexible Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms, supporting mobile streaming very attractive. However, we need to note that streaming videos can be partially deteriorated in their macroblocks and/or slices owing to errors on OFDMA subcarriers, as we consider that compressed video sequence is generally sensitive to the error-prone channel status of the wireless and mobile network. In this paper, we introduce an OFDMA subcarrier-adaptive mobile streaming server based on cross-layer design. This streaming server system is substantially efficient to reduce the deterioration of streaming video transferred on the subcarriers of low power strength without any modifications of the existing schedulers, packet ordering/reassembly, and subcarrier allocation strategies in the base station.

  • To develope the best optimized hull form, it has been generalized to evaluate the preliminary hull forms with the CFD tools in the initial stage of development and for this process it is needed to prepare various competent hull forms with high degree of fairness. In this paper, a modified shape variation method was developed to maintain the shape and fairness of parent hull form and the automatic update procedure was implemented on the basis of the association concept. It was shown that the hull form of the high quality in fairness and shape inherited from the parent hull form can be archived.

  • This paper develops a scheme of resource management for guaranteeing QoS of realtime traffic in wireless mobile internet environments Mobile terminal has significant impact on the QoS originating mobility provided to a real-time application. The currently proposed MRSVP is not clear the boundary of resource reservation tregion and also can give rise to signal overhead to maintain sessions. To solve above problem, we propose the new reservation protocol, mobile cluster based H-MRSVP to combine MRSVP with moving cluster concept. In this paper, we analytically design our model for guaranteeing the QoS of realtime traffic and compare the three schemes: guard channel allocation schemes, DCA and our model. The performance measures are the probabilities of new call blocking, handoff dropping, resource utilization and service completion versus the system offered Erlang load. Consequently, Simulation indicate our model is more flexible than DCA in a view pint of channel utilization and gains the advantage over guard channel scheme with respects to the mobility.

A Study on the Major Standards and Actual Conditions of Evacuation Safety in Child Care Facility (보육시설의 피난안전 관련 주요 기준 분석 및 실태조사에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the number of child care facility and social demand for high quality child care service increase suddenly. Especially, social atmosphere about fire safety is more sensitive in Korea. The majority of the residents in a child care facility are composed of early childhood having difficulty to evacuate, and therefore the number of stories of a building and the appropriateness of a evacuation equipment play an important role in the evacuation safety. In this study, problems and improvements for the evacuation safety are dealt with the present conditions of child care facilities, the comparative analysis between domestic and foreign standards, the research on the actual condition of evacuation equipments, and so on. The study brings to a conclusion that it is necessary to systematize the regulations regarding fire safety, to connect fire-fighting facilities for design standards and operations of emergency preparation equipments, to improve the regulations for fire protection system such as the sprinkler system, and to restrict the facilities having fire hazards.
