Adjacency-Based Mapping of Mesh Processes for Switch-Based Cluster Systems of Irregular Topology (비규칙 토폴로지 스위치 기반 클러스터 시스템을 위한 메쉬 프로세스의 인접 기반 매핑)

  • Mapping virtual process topology to physical processor topology is one of the most important design issues in parallel programming. However, the mapping problem is complicated due to the topology irregularity and routing complexity. This paper proposes a new process mapping scheme called adjacency-based mapping (AM) for irregular cluster systems assuming that the two-dimensional mesh process topology is specified as an interprocess communication pattern. The cluster systems have been studied and developed for many years since they provide high interconnection flexibility, scalability, and expandability which are not attainable in traditional regular networks. The proposed AM tries to map neighboring processes in virtual process topology to adjacent processors in physical processor topology. Simulation study shows that the proposed AM results in better mapping quality and shorter interprocess latency compared to the conventional approaches.

  • Companies are facing challenges to have high competitiveness because of continuous oil price rising and CO2 emissions regulations. Thus, companies are trying hard to construct effective logistics and operation system to achieve high customer service quality and saving cost. Also the ec-friendly idustrial complex is needed. Busan is in process to construct GILC(Global Industry Logistics City) in west Busan province to achieve high competitiveness and support lack of industrial complex. To construct this kind of logistics industrial complex, it needs logistics system through proper policy and freight transportation co-operation. Especially, efficient management through logistics hierarchy construction in industrial complex is very important for low cost and eco-friendly point of view. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze logistics system and suggest operation model to present logistics complex construction base data.

The Effect by Colorless Hair Manicure Management after Dyeing Treatment on Damaged hair (모발의 염색관리 후 무색 헤어메니큐어의 관리시점에 따른 모발보호 효과)

  • In this research, I chose and studied colorless hair manicure, which is well known for its useful point and supplement damaged hair glossy, luster, elastic and soft one. Also I studied and found hair protection effect by the management time of colorless hair manicure products, as below. Both level 3 and level 6 hairs, when they get damaged after dyeing, both hairs' strength and enlargement are affected. Manicuring two weeks after dyeing is more effective way than manicuring right after dyeing. So, in case of making good hair quality in manicuring dyed hair, it's more effective to manicure right after dyeing to both level 3 and level 6 hair. To complement hair's damage, however, manicuring two weeks after dyeing is the best effective way.

  • With gradual growth of digital image contents industry connected with computer graphics technology, users require high-quality animations similar to real world and want to observe the type of fishes or their swimming types through cyber aquarium and fish encyclopedia. This study designed and developed fish growth process system to express natural and dynamic movement of fish, which is the critical in expressing submarine environment. This system proposes new mopping technique not presented in existing mopping studies as well as simulation using algorithm that newly supplemented existing fish swimming types. In addition, disease infection status is realistically expressed, which may occur depending on environmental factors during their growth process. With comprehensive fish studies, different from existing fish studies, this study examines the overall features of fish with realistic simulation.

Development of the Manipulator of a Cucumber Robotic Harvester (오이 로봇 수확을 위한 매니퓰레이터 개발)

  • In this study, a robotic manipulator for harvesting cucumber was developed. The objective of this research was to design and to construct a robotic manipulator specifically tailored to harvest cucumber in the greenhouse. The system was consisted of an integrated end-efffctor, an image processing system and a controlling system. Especially, the image processing system detected the quality of cucumber within each plant in order for the computer to furnish harvest instructions to the manipulator. In all tests of cucumber, the success rate for cucumber harvest was 84% in the greenhouse. End-effector, image processing system and controlling system showed good performance. Based on the results of this research the following recommendations are made for further study. Besides harvesting cucumbers, the oldest leaves, creepers and the youngest small side leaves need to be removed.

  • Cyber warfare training is a key factor for boosting cyber warfare competence. In general, cyber warfare training is conducted by scenarios, and the effects of training can be enhanced by including various elements in the scenarios that can improve the quality of training. In this paper, we introduce the training information, network map, traffic generation policy, threat/defense behavior identified as elements to be included in training scenarios, and propose a method of authoring training scenarios by layering and combining them. We also propose a database design for integrated management of each scenario layer. The layered training scenario authoring method has the advantage of increasing convenience of authoring by reusing existing layers and extending training scenarios based on various combinations between the layers.

Process conditions of valuable compound for benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) from saw palmitto by supercritical CO2 (초임계 CO2를 이용한 Saw palmitto로부터 전립선 비대 유효 성분의 추출 조건)

  • Supercritical $CO_2$ extraction was applied to extraction of the valuable compound for benign prostatic hyperplasia from saw palmitto. Three levels of parameters, temperature $(35^{\circ}C,\; 60^<\circ}C)$, pressure 22∼30 Mpa and ethanol modified solvent concentration, were used as the independent variables of central composite to rotate the design. The extracting pressure and temperature interaction was significantly affected the extraction of valuable compounds. The ethanol was an efficient modifier to extract valuable compound by supercritical carbon dioxide. The optimal processing conditions were extracting pressure, 30 Mpa, extracting temperature, $60^<\circ}C$, ethanol modifier, 15% for extracts of the valuable compounds from saw palmitto. In conclusion, it was found that supercritical $CO_2$ extraction can successfully be applied to extract high quality extracts from saw palmitto.

Design of the DSP for the FM Sound Synthesis (FM 합성방식을 이용한 악기음 합성용 DSP 설계)

  • The conventional acoustic sounds can be synthesized by Frequency Modulation which includes the variation of frequency, amplitude, and modulation index. In this paper the number of variable synthesis parameters are limited to easily implement the existing two carrier FM algorithm by hardware. The DSP(Digital Signal Processor), which is able to carry out the modified algorithm and synthesize 16 sounds at a time, is designed with $0.8{\mu}m$ standard sells. The DSP which can synthesize 2 sounds at a time is implemented by ASIC emulator to examine the sound quality of the designed DSP. Through the objective and subjective estimation, it is confirmed that the sounds of many instruments from the implemented DSP are very closed to their real sound. Finally the designed DSP is layouted and simulated by VLSI desgn tool. According to the simulation, the designed DSP has the sufficiently fast speed for synthesizing 16 sounds at a time.

Interaction and Flow as the Antecedents of e-Learner Satisfaction (이러닝 만족도 영향요인으로서의 상호작용과 몰입)

  • Satisfactory e-learning experience of working part-time adult students is a truly dynamic and multidimensional process that reflects learning needs and abilities. Special attention is given to understanding the role of student-to-faculty interaction, student-to-student interaction, e-learning content and course structure, flow, periodic off-line class meetings and synchronous Q&A sessions. Survey questions were developed and distributed to adult graduate students. Some of them were asked to complete the questions with the most interesting subjects or classes in their mind, and others with the most difficult subjects in their mind. The structural model for each group was tested. The values of path coefficients corresponding to the group with the difficult subjects turn out to be higher for the following paths; a) interaction among professors and students and satisfaction, b) contents quality and flow, c) Q&A and interaction among professors and students, d) Q&A and interaction among students. For the other paths such as interaction among students and satisfaction, contents structure and flow, the coefficient values corresponding to the group with the interesting subjects are higher. Some implications for e-learning design were provided as well.

Site Suitability and Developable Amount Assessment for Riverbank Filtration in the Han River (II) (한강에서의 강변여과수 개발을 위한 적지선정 및 개발가능량 산정(II))

  • In Korea, riverbank filtration has drawn attention since 1990's as an alternative having potential to stably meet the ever-increasing water demand. Some cities located in the Nak-dong River Basin are currently supplying water through riverbank filtration. This research is on the application of riverbank filtration for stable water quality in Seoul. For this purpose, we have evaluated developable amount of water with riverbank filtration for the Han River. This paper focuses on the Kwangnaru site, which was selected through a systematic analysis in the companion paper. We have conducted groundwater modeling for a proposed system of wells and an artificial lake. In the Kwangnaru district, the river length to constitute a well system was identified to be about 1,200m, due to the topography and the field condition such as ecosystem preservation zone. After many design changes, it was found that the maximum developable amount of $23.36\;million\;m^3$/year could be obtained, when 16 pumping wells were built in every 80 meters along with an artificial lake upstream.
