Development of Quality Management Indicators for Educational Institutions

  • The purpose of this study was to develop indicators for quality management of educational institutions, and to achieve this, literature analysis and expert interviews were conducted. Through literature analysis, the components of TQM were derived focusing on factors to improve the quality of education, engineering education accreditation standards, and a representative education accreditation system, were considered. Additionally, seven areas as well as 32 indicators required for education quality management, were derived by comparing the EFQM excellence model and the MBNQA education model, applied for quality management of companies and institutions. By comparing and synthesizing these results, a draft was developed for the quality management index of educational institution. Next, opinions on correction and supplementation of quality management indicators derived from literature analysis, were collected from five education experts. From the comparisons and integration of these results, eight criteria (leadership, strategy, customers, people, facilities and environment, curriculum management, curriculum improvement, and performance management) and 34 indicators, were proposed for quality management indicators for educational institutions. Curriculum management, people, and performance management criteria were considered more significantly in quality management of educational institutions, and several implications are suggested based on the study results.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 교육과정 질 관리에 대한 문헌 고찰과 전문대학 유아교육과 교육과정 질 관리에 대한 사례 분석을 토대로 시사점 도출 및 전문대학 직업교육에 적합한 평가 모형을 설계하고, 평가 모형을 적용한 유아교육과의 체계적인 교육과정 질 관리 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 연구 핵심내용으로 학과 차원에서 교육과정 질 관리를 체계적으로 접근하기 위한 방안으로 학사행정적인 절차로서 PDCA의 절차를 활용하고, PDCA 평가(C) 단계에서 국내 뿐 아니라 국외에서도 교육과정 평가를 위해 다수 활용되고 있는 프로그램 평가 모형인 CIPP 모형을 활용한 전문대학 유아교육과 교육과정 질 관리 모형을 제시하며, 구성원들의 역할 및 질 문화를 제안하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 전문대학 유아교육과에서 다양한 기관 및 정책적 지원을 위한 사업에서 요구하는 교육과정 질 관리를 위한 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대된다.

교육과정 질 관리를 위한 초·중학교 수학교육 실태 분석 (A analysis of the elementary school and the middle school mathematics education as a curriculum quality-management)

  • 본 연구에서는 교육과정 질 관리의 측면에서 의무교육 대상인 초등학교와 중학교의 수학 교육 실태를 분석하여 교육과정의 투입, 과정, 산출 단계의 측면에서 질 관리가 되어야 할 주요 내용을 중심으로 학생, 학부모, 교사 대상 설문을 실시하였다. 설문 결과, 첫째, 투입 단계에서 초등학생들은 학습량이, 중학생은 내용 수준의 어려움이 있음이 나타났다. 둘째, 과정 단계에서 초등학교 교사들이 중학교 교사들에 비하여 교육과정 상의 교수 학습 방법을 더 잘 이행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 산출 단계에서 학생 및 학부모의 인지적 영역과 정의적 영역의 만족도가 초등학교보다 중학교에서 낮은 것으로 나타났지만, 응답 평균은 두 학교급에서 모두 높은 편이었다. 이상을 고려하여 추후 새교육과정이 교육 현장에 적용될 때에 학교급별로 나타난 문제점을 해소할 수 있는 방법이 마련되어야 하고, 궁극적으로 교육과정 질 관리를 위한 수단으로서 교육과정이 개정될 수 있는 체제가 마련되어야 할 것이다.

대학 교육서비스 만족도 향상을 위한 품질차원 및 개선우선순위 도출 (A Study on Quality Dimension and Improvement Priority for Enhancing University Educational Service Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: This study is on the priority for improving students satisfaction in university educational service. It explores the dimension of service quality and analyzes the relationship among quality elements, service satisfaction, and loyalty. Methods: This paper performs empirical studies by questionnaire survey. The Timko model is used for finding the degree of possible improvement of quality elements, and structural equation and regression models are used to analyze the effect of them on service satisfaction and loyalty. Also, explanatory factor analysis is used to investigate the quality determinants. Results: The quality dimension is composed of curriculum, employment support, interaction with outsiders, start-up support, learning support, counselling, and administration service. Curriculum, learning support, and administration service are positively correlated with service satisfaction, and service satisfaction has a positive effect on loyalty. Counselling service is an attractive element, and curriculum, start-up support, and learning support are indifferent elements. Conclusion: Comprehensive analysis shows that curriculum, academic advisor, and administration service have high priorities for improving educational service satisfaction.

건강가정사 양성을 위한 가족자원경영학 교과개편 연구 (A Remodification of the Family Resource Management Curriculum for the Healthy Family Specialist Program)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a remodification of the family resource management curriculum in order to vitalize the entire healthy family specialist program. In January 2005, 'the Act of Healthy Families' was enacted. From then on, healthy family specialists not only have assumed a key role in health family Projects, which is based on the Act of Healthy Families itself, but they have also become key members of the healthy family support centers. Therefore, it can be said that cultivating competent healthy family specialists is vital to the success of the management of the healthy family support centers as well as the entire healthy family project. In order to enhance the quality of the healthy family specialists, we need to modify the current curriculum, which is based on primary courses that offers healthy family specialist licences in the end, into a curriculum that focuses on work-oriented learning and practical education. Especially, the curriculum of public family management should be administered in a way that strengthens the practical management of healthy family support centers. The basic curriculum as well as the guidelines of the practical training that is being conducted through healthy family support centers should also be organized in a way that enhances the professionality and the unification of the healthy family specialist.

보건교육사의 질 관리 방안 (Quality Management Scheme for Health Education Specialists)

  • Objectives: As nationally qualified health education specialists were produced for the first time in 2010, there is a need to suggest opinions on its quality management by examining university curriculum for health education specialist and its education system and this is the main topic of paper. Results and conclusion: The results are as follows. First, it requires to provide a high-quality education continuously by introducing the certification system for universities which offer health education. Secondly, education content needs to be based on skill for health education specialist and more standardized curriculum should be developed. Thirdly, introduction of validity date for the health education specialist qualification is needed. Fourthly, it is desirable to introduce the academic credit bank system after effectively organizing the management system. Lastly, follow-up course for health education specialist needs to be introduced.

전공교육과정 점검 지표 개발 및 타당화 - H대학교 사례를 중심으로 (The Study on Evaluation Indicators and Validity of Major Courses - Focusing on the Case of the H University)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop indicators to establishing the education system, focusing the curriculum in each department of H University for quality management of the curriculum. The indicator was developed based on previous studies and cases studies of other universities, and the validation of them was confirmed by the Delphi survey method. The Delphi surveys were conducted by two times, and 16 and 15 people participated for the first and second survey, respectively. We derived the following major results through developing the indicator. First, in order to conduct an education inspection of major courses, , , , , and are required. Second, the checking factors should be evaluated based on the contents in each stage, and can be regarded as a core activity in the curriculum. Accordingly, the checking factors becomes the basis for the establishment of the indicator to establishing the education system, and the indicator can be an expression method that represents the basis data for determining the factors to be evaluated.

국가직무능력표준을 활용한 병원행정 전문인력 교육과정 개선방안 연구 (A study on the quality improvement of university education for Hospital administrator based on the NCS)

  • The purpose of this study was to support for quality improvement of educational curriculum on hospital administrator through the comparison of competence of new employee and need of field experts based on NCS. The participants of this study were implemented the self-report survey about competency and need on job skills of hospital administrator. According to the comparison, it is defined the point that is needed curriculum improvement and the competency gap between hospital and university hospital. This is support to be establish the base for the qualified education and training program for hospital administrators. NCS is useful as standardized tool for identify the gap between need and competency and as suggestion for education improvement of hospital administrator.

  • e-business curriculum needs to be developed reflecting requirements of the stakeholder which involve a close relation with a industrial and educational job performed in the field. In this paper, we present a new methodology for developing a market-oriented and stakeholder-led e-business curriculum using quality function deployment(QFD) and conjoint analysis. For this purpose, we analyze the data resulting from the surveyed opinions of respondents working for e-business companies, the interviewed results with professors and students and evaluate the importance of each course being involved in the curriculum with respect to the job classification (e.g.. Web planner. Web master. Web programmer. Web marketer. Web designer), and then. complete a curriculm flow diagram(CFD) considering precedence and relative difficulty among the selected courses. The e-business curriculum developed by the proposed method is useful to provide guidelines for determining courses required toward a desired job and for making a partial amendment of the curriculum.

대학 자체교육인증제가 역량기반 교육과정 질 향상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Internal Accreditation on the Quality Improvement of Competency-Based Curriculum in Higher Education)

  • 본 연구는 학과 스스로 교육과정 전반을 점검할 수 있는 전공교육의 질관리 체계인 A대학교의 자체교육인증제도를 소개하고, 자체교육인증제가 역량기반 교육과정 질향상에 미치는 영향을 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 A대학교에서 매년 실시하고 있는 교육수요자 만족도 조사, 핵심역량 진단도구, 전공과목 강의평가 점수 분석 결과를 인증학과와 비인증학과로 구분하여 학생과 교수자의 교육성과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 및 시사점을 정리해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자체교육인증제의 효과로 인증추진 학과의 교육목표 및 교육과정 구성, 교육과정 운영, 교육과정 지원, 교육과정 개선의 만족도는 비인증 학과에 비하여 높은 것으로 확인되었으며, 이는 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 학생 핵심역량은 자체교육인증을 취득하기 이전보다 취득한 이후에 보다 긍정적인 변화가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자체교육인증제는 전공과목 강의평가에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 대학에서 자체교육인증 설계를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.
