  • The utilization techniques for multiple transmit and receive antennas or high capacity modulation schemes are essential to cope with the rapidly increasing demand for realizing more diverse wireless communication services with high rates. However, employing multiple receive antennas at the mobile units seems less practical due at the size and power limitations. Therefore, transmit diversify techniques have been extensively investigated for the downlink transmission to improve the performance In order to overcome the above mentioned problems, we construct a simulation model which combines STC and polarization diversity which scheme is requiring less cost to realize. Multi-level quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) is an attractive modulation scheme for wireless communication due to the high spectral efficiency it provides. Thus, the performance for our scheme is presented when 16QAM modulation techniques are applied. and compared with the former schemes.

  • The performance of existing recognition algorithms for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) and quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) signals degrade under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR). Hence, a novel recognition algorithm based on features in the graph domain is proposed in this study. First, the power spectrum of the squared candidate signal is truncated by a rectangular window. Thereafter, the graph representation of the truncated spectrum is obtained via normalization, quantization, and edge construction. Based on the analysis of the connectivity difference of the graphs under different hypotheses, the sum of degree (SD) of the graphs is utilized as a discriminate feature to classify BPSK and QPSK signals. Moreover, we prove that the SD is a Schur-concave function with respect to the probability vector of the vertices (PVV). Extensive simulations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, and its superiority to the listed model-driven-based (MDB) algorithms in terms of recognition performance under low SNRs and computational complexity. As it is confirmed that the proposed method reduces the computational complexity of existing graph-based algorithms, it can be applied in modulation recognition of radar or communication signals in real-time processing, and does not require any prior knowledge about the training sets, channel coefficients, or noise power.

  • In this paper we implement computer simulation system of 4FSK signal MODEM using Quadrature detector and analyze overall tranceiver system. We follow the FLEX wireless paging system standards and construct premodulation filter and data frame. We propose an efficient open loop symbol timing recovery algorithm which takes advantage of 128 bit length preamble pattern and also propose a 32 bit UW pattern which Is based on the optimal UW detection method, and excellent aperiodic autocorrelation characteristic. The BER simulation in the fading channel as well as AWGN is performed with BCH coding and Interleaving to the Quadrature detector system and it is shown that a high coding fain occurs in the fading channel rather than AWGN channel.

  • The low power consumption modulation is required for short range communication. In this paper, we analyze performance of low power consumption modulation scheme such as PSPM, PSSK and QAPM using OFDM transmission in AWGN channel. A PSPM, PSSK and QAPM modulation scheme are decrease in bandwidth efficiency but improved power efficiency than existing PSK and QAM. These modulation schemes can achieve power efficiency because every symbol of modulations has a zero-envelope period like PPM techniques. The OFDM system is high bandwidth efficiency than single carrier system. In this paper, we are propose the frequency domain mapping method for OFDM transmission using low power consumption modulation method. Also, we compare low power OFDM communication system regard to BER performance, throughput and PAPR.

  • We consider the design of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transceivers f3r fixed wireless communications. The use of adaptive power control in the transmitter (Tx) can provide BER performance robust to fading and improved BER performance. The BER performance is evaluated by analytical and simulation results when multi-level QAM transceiver employing power control in the Tx is applied to fixed wireless channel with flat fading and frequency selective fading. The effect of power control parameters such as power control range and power control step size is investigated

  • In-phase/quadrature (I/Q) imbalances, which are generated by non-ideal transceiver components, are inevitable physical phenomena that cause the performance of practical communication systems to be degraded. In this paper, we provide a new closed-form expression for the bit error rate of hierarchical M-ary phase shift keying with I/Q phase and amplitude imbalances and analyze the effect of I/Q imbalances on BER performance over an additive white Gaussian noise channel.

  • The degradation due to channel distortion in a quadrature modulation system from the ideal constant values over the bandwidth of a direct sequence spread spectrum signal are considered. Through using series expansion for the channel gain and phase response, the degradation in the correlator output at the receiver is found as a function of the parameters involved , including phase error, delay error, linear gin variation, quadratic gain variation, and quadratic phase variation.

  • The performances of M-ary signals using L-branch maximum ratio combining (MRC) diversity reception in correlated Nakagami fading channels are derived theoretically. The coherent reception of M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK), phase shift keying (MPSK), and quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) is considered. It is assumed that the fading parameters in each diversity branch are identical. The general formula for evaluating symbol error rate (SER) of M-ary signals in the independent branch diversity system is presented using the integral-form expressions.

  • In this paper, a subband coding scheme using the human visual system(HVS) model for encoding monochrome images is proposed to produce perceptually higher quality images compared with the regular subband coding scheme. The proposed approach first transforms the intensity image to the density image by a point nonlinear transformation. A frequency band dexomposition of the density image is carried out by means of 2-D seaprable quadrature mirror filters, which split the density image spectrum into 16 equall rate subbands. Bits are allocated among the subbands to minimize the weighted mean squar error (WMSE) for differential pulse code modulation(DPCM) coding of the subbands. The weight for each subband is calculated from the modulation transfer function (MTF) of the HVS model at corresponding frequencies. The performances of the proposed approach are evaluated for 256 * 256 monochrome images at the bit rates of 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 bita per pixel. Computer simulation results indicate that using the HVS model yields more pleasing reconstructed images than regular subband coding approach which does not use HVS model.

  • This paper presents design of AGC(Automatic Gain Control) and DC offset remover suitable for cable modem which makes use of QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) scheme. Since QAM has multi-level signal characteristic, for high-order QAM, the constellation is dense and the distance of decision boundary between adjacent symbols is short. So AGC and DC offset remover must be designed optionally for preventing performance degradation. AGC is designed into feedback type and is related to the STR(Symbol Timing Recovery)and Paff interpolation algorithm. Whereas AGC need to perform average power detection during many symbols by comparison with the reference power, DC offset remover uses only the instant polarity decision such that simple implementation can be achieved with good performance. Though the AGC and DC offset remover are simulated here only for 256 QAM scheme for convenience'sake, it can be applied to other multi-level QAM or PSK modulation scheme.
