We determine explicit formulas for the number of representations of a positive integer n by quaternary quadratic forms with coefficients 1, 2, 5 or 10. We use a modular forms approach.

In this article, we find bases for the spaces of modular forms $M_2({\Gamma}_0(88),\;({\frac{d}{\cdot}}))$ for d = 1, 8, 44 and 88. We then derive formulas for the number of representations of a positive integer by the diagonal quaternary quadratic forms with coefficients 1, 2, 11 and 22.

A (positive definite integral) quadratic form is called even 2-universal if it represents all even quadratic forms of rank 2. In this article, we prove that there are at most 55 even 2-universal even quadratic forms of rank 5. The proofs of even 2-universalities of some candidates will be given so that exactly 20 candidates remain unproven.

In this paper, we provide a complete list of 177 equivalence classes of primitive even 2-regular quaternary positive definite quadratic forms and their discriminants. All of them have class number 1.

The Fifteen Theorem proved by Conway and Schneeberger is a criterion for positive definite quadratic forms over the rational integer ring to be universal. In this paper, we give a proof of an analogy of the Fifteen Theorem for definite quadratic forms over polynomial rings, which is known as the Four Conjecture proposed by Gerstein.

Moments of skew t random vectors and their quadratic forms are derived. It is shown that the moments of the sample autocovariance function and of the sample variogram estimator do not depend on a skewness parameter.

이차형식 통계량의 분포함수에 대한 연구는 주로 다변량 정규분포의 가정하에서 진행되어 왔다. 최근 다변량 정규분포를 포함하는 다변량 왜정규분포에 대한 연구가 활발하다. 본 논문에서는 다변량 왜정규분포의 가정하에서 이차형식 통계량의 분포함수에 대한 근사를 다루었다. 근사의 방법으로는 소표본에서도 정확도가 뛰어난 근사법으로 알려진 안장점근사를 사용하였으며, 모의실험을 통해 그 정도를 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 다변량 정규분포하에서 비동차(non-homogeneous) 이차형식의 분포 함수에 대한 안장점근사법을 다루었다. 이는 Kuonen (1999)의 동차(homogeneous) 이차형식에 대한 안장점근사를 비동차의 경우로 확장한 것이다. 안장점근사의 적용을 위해 비동차 이차형식의 누율생성함수 및 관련 성질들을 유도하였다. 모의실험을 통해 안장점근사의 정도가 매우 뛰어남을 확인하였다.

This note is to demonstrate that the extention of Theorem 4.15 of Graybill on the independence of quadratic forms is possible. For the self-contained exposition, Theorem 4.15 is rewritten.

A basis of a subspace of $S_4({\Gamma}_0(79))$ is given and the formulas for the number of representations of positive integers by some direct sums of the quadratic forms $x^2_1+x_1x_2+20x^2_2$, $4x^2_1{\pm}x_1x_2+5x^2_2$, $2x^2_1{\pm}x_1x_2+10x^2_2$ are determined.
