  • In the present paper we studied experimentally fundamental optimization of oxygen enriched pyrolysis melting incinerator, Characteristics of this system was confirmed dealing with the gas flow and combustion properties for the inside secondary air injection. The experiment setup has a disposal rate of 30kg/hr which was measured by the inside temperature and gas. Along with above experiments, the three-dimensional computation was employed to analyse the combustion fluid dynamics and gas residence time. Equations for turbulence and heat - transmission as well as chemical reactions were solved by using common codes. The experimental combustion chamber was composed of staged combustion types structure for reducing NOx. Finally, it was verified that the control of the secondary air and air ratio of thermo stack were important. In the computational analysis, it showed reasonable agreement with the experimental results regarding the temperature and discharged gas concentration.

  • Biomass had been attracted public attention as eco-friendly resource which not increases the greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide. In this study, it had been collected pyrolytic products such as bio-oil, char and pyrolytic gas from various biomass in a fluidized bed reactor which is one of the fast pyrolysis processes. To understand the characteristics of biomass pyrolysis, the variation of products yield and chemical composition was determined with various operating parameters like temperature, gas velocity($U_{0}/U_{mf}$) and bed height(L/D). In the optimum operating conditions, gas yield and water content was the lowest and concentration of guaiacols and syringols were the highest. The maximum yields of bio-oil was from 55% to 58% at $400^{\circ}C$.

  • The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model is a method of studying the flow phenomenon of fluid using a computer and finding partial differential equations that dominate processes such as heat dispersion through numerical analysis. Through CFD, a lot of information about flow disorders such as speed, pressure, density, and concentration can be obtained, and it is used in various fields from energy and aircraft design to weather prediction and environmental modeling. The simulation used for fluid analysis in this study utilized Gexcon's (FLACS) CODE, such as Norway, through overseas journals, for the accuracy of the analysis results through many experiments. It was analyzed that a technology for treating two or more catalysts with physical properties under low-temperature atmospheric pressure conditions could not be found in the prior art. Therefore, it would be desirable to establish a continuous plan by reinforcing data that can prove the effectiveness of producing efficient synthetic oil (renewable oil) through the application that pyrolysis under low-temperature and atmospheric pressure conditions.

  • 본 연구에서는 열분해 연료유를 이용하여 석유계 피치 기반 활성탄을 제조하였고, 이를 활용하여 일산화질소 가스 검출 센서를 개발하였다. 피치의 분자량 증가를 위해 피치 합성 시 중합 반응을 촉진시키는 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트를 첨가하였다. 피치의 분자량 증가는 피치 기반 활성탄의 비표면적 및 미세기공 부피 증가에 기여하였고, 이는 활성탄 기반 센서의 일산화질소 가스 검출 특성 향상시켰다. 또한 테레프탈레이트 첨가 피치를 사용할 때 활성탄의 표면 산소 관능기 및 전도성 변화를 확인하고 테레프탈레이트 첨가가 활성탄의 물성 및 일산화질소 가스 검출 특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.

하수슬러지 감량화를 위한 one구동 2단형 열풍건조/열분해에 관한 연구 (A Study on the 2-stage dry and pyrolysis system for reduction of sewage sludge)

  • 본 연구는 슬러지처분을 위해서 유기성페기물 감량화, 에너지 회수기술 공정시도, 자연순환형 슬러지 처분을 위한 최종 시스템개발의 기초연구이다. 본 연구는 full-규모의 건조시스템과 반자동식 로타리 킬른식 열분해로를 이용하여 실험하였다. 운전매개변수는 온도를 건조는 $160{\sim}175^{\circ}C$와 열분해온도는$450{\sim}800^{\circ}C$로 변화시켜 실험을 실행하였고, 고형물의 열분해 공정의 체류시간은 9min으로 실험을 t실행하였다. 본 연구에서 중요한 실험매개변수는 운전시간, 슬러지 수분함량, 고형물량에 따라 온도를 변화시켜 열분해특성을 연구하였다. 운전시간 9분의 일정한 상태에서 $670^{\circ}C$조건은 탄소쇄 $C_1{\sim}C_3$의 물질의 생성은 증가하였지만, $C_4{\sim}C_6$를 함유한 오일성분은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

외열킬른형 열분해용융시설의 N2O 배출계수 개발 (The Development of N2O Emission Factor at Killn Type Pyrolysis Melting Facility)

  • In this study, the $N_2O$ emission factor of the facility was developed by measuring the kiln type pyrolysis melting facility. This used PAS (Photoacoustic Spectroscopy) method and measured the $N_2O$ emission concentration. From March 2016 to April 2016, it was measured over a total of two times and $N_2O$ concentrations were measured continuously for 24 hours using a 24 hour continuous measuring instrument (LSE-4405). The measured $N_2O$ emission concentration of the pyrolysis melting facility was 0.263 ppm on average and the emission concentration distribution in the range of 0.013~0.733 ppm was obtained. Therefore, the $N_2O$ emission factor of the kiln-type pyrolysis melting facility was estimated to be $0.829gN_2O/ton$-Waste. As a result of comparing the $N_2O$ emission factor of the thermal kiln type pyrolysis melting facility and the previous study, previous studies were about 18 times higher. It is estimated that this is due to the difference of furnace temperature, oxygen concentration and denitrification facilities. It is considered that the study of the emission factor of pyrolysis melting facility is an important factor in improving the credibility of greenhouse gas inventory in waste incineration sector.

반 건조 하수슬러지와 폐플라스틱 혼합물의 파일롯 규모 연속식 열분해에 의한 생산물과 발생 오염물질 (Products and pollutants of half dried sewage sludge and waste plastic co-pyrolysis in a pilot-scale continuous reactor)

  • 반 건조 소화 하수슬러지와 폐플라스틱을 혼합하여 파일롯 규모(85.3kg/hr)의 연속식 저온($510^{\circ}C{\sim}530^{\circ}C$) 열분해 실험을 하였다. 실험결과 열분해가스 발생량은 투입물 건량의 최대 68.3%, 발열량은 $40.9MJ/Nm^3$이었으며, 연속식 열분해에 따른 외기 유입율이 19.6%이었다. 오일은 투입물 건량의 4.2%가 발생하였고, 저위발열량은 32.5 MJ/kg이었으며 시설부식 등을 일으킬 수 있는 황과 염소의 함량이 각각 0.2% 이상이었다. 투입물 건량의 27.5%가 발생한 탄화물의 저위 발열량은 10.2 MJ/kg이었고, 용출시험 결과 지정폐기물에 해당하지 않았다. 열분해가스의 연소 배가스는 일산화탄소, 황산화물, 시안화수소 등의 배출농도가 특히 높았고, 다이옥신 (PCDDs/DFs)은 $0.034ng-TEQ/Sm^3$로서 법적 기준치 이내였다. 건조 배가스 응축으로 발생한 폐수는 수질오염물질 47개 항목 중 총질소, n-H 추출물질, 시안 등의 고농도 항목이 많아 전처리 후 하수처리장 등에서의 병합처리 방식을 고려할 필요가 있었다.

대표적인 열분해가스화 용융시설의 공정별 다이옥신 배출거동에 관한 연구 (A study on the Dioxin behavior in the process of representative pyrolysis/gasfication/melting plant)

  • The incineration process has commonly used for wastes amount reduction and thermal treatments of pollutants as the technologies accumulated. However, the process is getting negative public images owing to matter of hazardous pollutants emission. Specially dioxins became a main issue and is mostly emitted from municipal solid wastes incineration. In this reason, pyrolysis/gasfication/melting process is presented as a alternative of incineration process. The pyrolysis/gasfication/melting process, a novel technology, is middle of verification of commercial plant and development of technologies in Korea. But the survey about the pollutant emission from the process, and background data in these facilities is necessary. So in this survey, it Is investigated that the behavior of dioxins in three pyrolysis/gasfication/melting plant (S, T, P) of pilot scale. In case of S plant, concentration of dioxins shows high at latter part of cogenerated boiler and stack which are operate on low temperature conditions than a latter parts of pyrolysis and melting furnace which are operate on high temperature condition. Concentration of gas phage dioxins had increased after combusted gas passed cogenerated boiler and this is attributed to react of precursor materials such as chlorobenzene and chlorophenol. Concentration of dioxins in T plant showed lower levels at latter part of cooling equipment which are operate with water spray type on low temperature conditions than a latter parts of gasfied melting furnace which are operate on high temperature condition. Removal efficiency of dioxins at gas treatment equipment was 78.8 %. Concentration of dioxins in P plant was low at latter part of SDA/BF which is operate at low temperature conditions than a latter parts of pyrolysis gasfied chamber which are operate at high temperature condition. Removal efficiency of dioxins of SDA/BF was 85.9 % and therefore, it showed high efficiency at those of stoker type incineration facility. However, concentration of dioxins which emitted at high temperature condition were low in three facilities and satisfied present standard emission level of dioxins. To consider the distribution ratio of dioxins, Particulate phase dioxins at S and P plants showed similar ratio with which shows in current stoker type for middle scale domestic waste incineration facility. It is necessary to continuos monitoring the ratio of distribution of dioxins in T plant in because ratio of gas phage dioxins showed high.

KIER의 열분해유화 공정 기술과 실증플랜트 소개 (Introduction of KIER Pyrolysis Process and 3,000 ton/yr Demonstration Plant)

  • Since late of 2000, KIER has developed a novel pyrolysis process for production of fuel oils from polymer wastes. It could have been possible due to large-scale funding of the Resource Recycling R&D Center. The target was to develop an uncatalyzed, continuous and automatic process producing oils that can be used as a fuel for small-scale industrial boilers. The process development has proceeded in three stages bench-scale unit, pilot plant and demonstration plant. As a result, the demonstration plant having capacity of 3,000 tons/year has been constructed and is currently under test operation for optimization of operation conditions. The process consisted of four parts ; feeding system, cracking reactor, refining system and others. Raw materials were pretreated via shredding and classifying to remove minerals, water, etc. There were 3 kind of products, oils(80%), gas(15%), carbonic residue(5%). The main products i.e. oils were gasoline and diesel. The calorific value of gas has been found to be about 18,000kcal/$m^3$ which is similar to petroleum gas and shows that it could be used as a process fuel. Key technologies adopted in the process are 1) Recirculation of feed for rapid melting and enhancement of fluidity for automatic control of system, 2) Tubular reactor specially-designed for heavy heat flux and prevention of coking, 3)Recirculation of heavy fraction for prevention of wax formation, and 4) continuous removal & re-reaction of sludge for high yield of main product (oil) and minimization of residue. The advantages of the process are full automation, continuous operation, no requirement of catalyst, minimization of coking and sludge problems, maximizing the product(fuel oil) yield and purity, low initial investment and operation costs and environment- friendly process. In this presentation, background of pyrolysis technology development, the details of KIER pyrolysis process flow, key technologies and the performances of the process will be discussed in detail.

초음파 분무 열분해법에 의해 합성한 실리카 막의 기체 투과 특성 (Gas Permeation Characteristics of Silica Membrane Prepared by Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis)

  • 표면 개질한 다공성 금속 지지체에 초음파 분무 열분해법을 이용하여 silica막을 합성하고, 고온 기체 선택 투과 분리 특성을 조사하였다. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)를 전구체로 하여 지지체 세공을 통한 감압 진공을 하면서 873K에서 표면에 defect 없이 균일한 양질의 silica막이 형성되었다. 투과 온도 523 K에서 silica막의 수th/질소 및 수증기/메탄을 분리 계수가 각각 17 및 16 정도의 우수한 선택 투과 성능을 나타냈다. 다공성 금속 지지체의 불균일한 기공에 silica 분체 및 $\gamma-alumina$층을 중간층으로 도입하고, 그 위에 열분해법에 의한 silica를 합성한 결과, Knudsen 확산에 의한 투과 영역의 세공이 완전히 제거되어 높은 수소 및 수증기 선택성을 가지는 복합 막이 형성되었다.
