충무항의 항로내에서 조선상의 여유와 부담 (The Margin and Burden of Route Keeping Maneuver of Vessels Proceeding along the Fairway in the Harbour of CHUNG MU)

  • 충무권의 선로내에 관측선을 정하고 통항선박의 선적을 연속측정한 자료로서 항행중의 위험성과 조선상의 여유와 부담에 관하여 연구한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 항행중의 위험성은 동항할 때 모두 항로의 동부보다 중앙부와 서부에서 비교적 높았다. 2. 조선상의 여유는 동항할 때는 선로의 서부, 서항할 때는 선로의 중앙부에서 가장 높았다. 그러나 서부입구에서는 동항할 때나 서항할 때 모두 가장 낮았다. 3. 조선상의 여유는 동항할 때나 서항할 때 모두 항로의 서부에서 높았고 동부에서 낮았다. 4. 조종성지수 T', K'는 모두 좌초위험지수 R에 영향을 미치나 T'가 K'보다 더 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다

  • Embankment preloading, in conjunction with prefabricated vertical (PV) drains, was used to accelerate consolidation of marine clays in Pusan New Harbour project. UP to eightteen settlement plates were installed at the ground reclamated site under the embankment fill to monitor the preload performance. This analysis is carried out by five settlement prediction methods including the Asaoka, Hyperbolic, Hoshino, and back-analysis method based on optimization. The field settlement data can be analysed by settlement prediction methods to predict the ultimate settlement and the degree of consolidation of the reclaimed land under charge fill. The authors compared with the analyzed results of the methods.

시뮬레이션에 희한 부산컨테이너 터미널 운영의 체계적인 분석 (A Systematic Analysis on the Operation of Busan Container Terminal by Computer Simulation)

  • Since the middle of 1950's when sea transportation service by container ship was established, containerization has been rapidly spread over the world with realization of intermodalism, and becomes an index of economy growth of a country. Our country has established Pusan Container Terminal at Pusan harbour in 1978 in step with worldwide trend of containerization, and is constructing New Container Terminal at Pusan outharbour which will be completed in 1990. This paper aims to make a quantitative analysis of the Pusan Container Terminal system through the computer simulation, especially focusing on its subsystems such as ship stevedoring system, storage system and transfer system. First, the capacity of various subsystems are evaluated and it is checked whether the current operation is being performed effectively through the computer simulation. Secondly, the suggestion is presented to improve the operation by considering the throughput that Pusan Container Terminal will have to accept until 1990, when New Container Terminal will be completed. The results are as follows ; 1) As the inefficiency is due to the imbalance between various subsystems at Pusan Container Terminal on the basis of about 1.2 million TEU of container traffic, transfer equipment level must be up to 33% for transfer crane, and free period must be reduced into 4/5 days for export/import. 2) On the basis of about 1.4 million TEU of container traffic, transfer equipment level must be up to $12\%$ for gantry crane, $11\%$ for straddle carrier and $66\%$ for transfer crane, and free period must be reduced into 3/4 days for export/import. 3) On the basis of about 1.7 million TEU of container traffic, transfer equipment level must be up to $25\%$ for gantry crane, $28\%$ for straddle carrier and $100\%$ for transfer crane, and free period must be reduced into 3/4 days for export/import. 4) On the basis of about 2 million TEU of container traffic, transfer equipment level must be up to $25\%$ for gantry crane, $30\%$ for straddle carrier and $110\%$ for transfer crane, and free period must be reduced into 2/3 days for export/import, and it is necessary to enlarge storage yard.

우즈 수퍼러더조선법의 실용성에 관하여 (Practicality of Woo's Super Rudder Controlling)

  • In harbour the practical shiphandlers should have a expert knowledge of systematically reducing head-way and keeping ship's positions to the final position with confidence and under control. But now in the practical approaches we do not have any special maneuvers of controlling the ship effi-ciently regarding the headway and approaches except some existing reduction of speeds according to the Weight-to-Power Ratio, use of astern power and Rudder Cycling. Consequently this study put Woo's Super Rudder Controlling originally developed by Captain Woo, Ph. D. to practical use as a special maneuvers in the port approaches. The conclusions of this paper are drawn as follows : 1) Optimum standard and desirable controls in combination of three engine speeds with three yaw ang-les were proposed for the practical shiphandlers, 2) According to simulation of the pilotships the Super advances are 10.5 ship lengths for Full full full maneuvers, and 7.9 ship lengths for Full half maneuvers approximately, 3) Approach maneuvers to anchorages by trying Woo's Super Rudder Controlling saved about 30% of total standby time in comparison with the existing Weight-to-Power Ratio maneuvers in the Pusan and Kwang Yang ports.

도시 하수의 해양방류 및 근역혼합특성 분석 (Analyses of Ocean Discharges Municipal Water and its Near-Field Mixing Characteristics)

  • Recently several research groups using CORMIX, approved by EPA, have been working on the hydrodynamic mixing processes due to the ocean discharges. It provides a useful tool for analyzing near field mixing characteristics through the outfall system. This paper applies CORMIX 1 & 2 to the Pusan Jungang Effluent Outfall System, which is planned to be in the Gamchun harbour and will be completed in 2011. This model output shows the trajectoral variation of dilution and concentration for three cases of outfall system. Dilution differences have been simulated and found the highest dilution condition under the different displacement of outfall system. On the basis of these outputs it will be proposed the optimum outfall system type and location. This approach might contribute on protecting the serious water quality problem due to the ocean discharge.

  • 이 연구는 자연조건, 지형조건, 시설조건 및 다른 선박과의 상대적 위치 관계 등의 특정한 운항환경에서 조선자가 갖는 심리적 부담을 계량화하고, 이를 통해 해상교통의 안전성을 평가하는 환경스트레스 모델을 적용하여 부산항 접근수역의 현행 통항분리방식과 선행 연구에서 제안한 원형분리대방식에 의한 해상교통의 안전성을 상호 비교하여 그 타당성을 검증하고자 한다.

An Analytical Model of Co-oscillating Tide under Frictional Effect in the Yellow Sea

  • The response of the tidal waves to friction effect is investigated in terms of deformation of Kelvin and Poincare modes, The 1st Poincare mode does not exist over the low frequency region less than the critical frequency of omega ${\omega}$${\sqrt{2f}}$, with ${\gamma}$/f=0.0, but the mode comes to exist in the presence of friction. When friction exists and its magnitude increases, the wave number increases, indicating that the wave length of the Poincare mode becomes increasingly short with increasing friction. The damping coefficient gradually increases with increasing friction over the high frequency region, but the trend is reversed over the low frequency region. In case of Kelvin wave the present study substantiates the characters of Kelvin wave examined by Mofjeld (1980) and Lee (1988). Based on the examination of frictional effects on the tidal wave propagation, the co-oscillating tides in the Yellow Sea are examined by considering both the head opening and bottom friction effects. As friction is introduced and increased in addition to partial opening at bay head, the location of the amphidromic point near the Shantung Peninsula moves more southwestward. This southwestward movement of the amphidromic point is increasingly compatible with the observed location of Ogura's or Nishida's tidal chart of the M$_2$ tide.

동북아 물류중심과 광양항 (Strategy for Kwangyang Port as a Logistics Center of East Asia)

  • These days the surroundings around harbours are rapidly changing. Particularly in the age of Pacific Rim it is rather clear that the competition among the harbours in Northeast Asia region where are so many of worldwidely famous harbours might be intense. From 1980s on the industrialization and urbanization in the area of Kwang Yand-Bay, thanks to the regional development program, have been speedily under way. And in the year of 1987 the 1st development program of Kwang Yang-Bay container quay was started and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 1997. As the completion of the program it is expected that in 1998 the newly-opening Kwang Yang-Bay container quay on one hand will play a role in relieving the awaiting-time of vessels in Pusan Port, and on the other hand it will contribute to the balanced development of the country. In this context this thesis conducted Its study on the effect of the specification and facilities of a harbour, and especially on the effect on the regional economy resulted by the development & developmental static of Kwang Yang-Bay container quay. And progressively in the thesis the plan to provide Kwang Yang-Bay container quay with competitiveness was suggested.

시나리오를 이용한 울산 내항의 혼잡 분석 (Congestion Analysis in the Inner Harbour of Ulsan Using a Scenario)

  • Since traffic congestion ratio at any given port fluctuates on the number of arriving and departing vessels, the total tonnage of freight volume being handled, and the number of berth in operation and other factors, there exists a need to numerically analyze the waterway traffic volume. However, there are no effective regulations in regards to the waterway traffic analysis prior to expansion of a port facility. The current analysis requires the traffic analysis in relation only to the width of the waterway, which clearly falls short of achieving a comprehensive evaluation study that could be used in consideration of port expansion.This study provides five scenarios to execute a comprehensive evaluation study and base for the sensitivity study by analyzing the scenarios. As a result of the sensitivity analysis, the A, B, and C scenarios varies the average arrival ratio of the berth shows 1.1, 1.19, and 1.28 times of delays respectively. Also, The D and E scenarios take place malfunctions of pier shows 1.21 and 1.53 times of delays respectively. Therefore, various strategies of harbor development and method of harbor management are needed for the flexible correspondence to the environmental changes such as the excessive increasing of the freight volume and often taking place of malfunctioning.

  • The amount of municipal water has been increased rapidly up to now and it is necessary to treat and dispose the wastewater effectively. The recent trend of the effluent disposal system, after treatment, show a nearshore discharge which has an outfall with length somewhere between the shoreline discharge and an extended deepwater outfall. There is no universal solution to municipal water treatment and disposal and each case must be examined on its merits and on economic, technical and environmental bases. In this study we focused mostly on the scientific and engineering aspects of ocean disposal through the outfall. For this purpose, we made an investigation to the near-field characteristics of discharged water and made some comparison with the existing experimental results. We also applied it to the Pusan Jungang Effluent Outfall System, which is planned to build in the Gamchun harbour and will be completed in 2011. The model output showed the trajectoral variation of dilution and mixing behavior for three cases of outfall system. Dilution differences have been simulated and found the highest dilution condition under the different displacement of outfall system.
