The Effect of the Combination of Eyeshadow Color, Lipstick Color and Lipstick Tone on Impression Formation (아이섀도 색상과 립스틱 색상 및 톤 조합이 인상형성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eyeshadow color (brown, purple, and blue), lipstick color (red, red purple, and yellow red), and lipstick tone (vivid, light, dull, and dark) on impression formation. Sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 36 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, and lipstick tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 216 female undergraduates living in Jinju city. Impression factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components, attractiveness and gracefulness, visibility, cuteness, and softness, of which the first two were important. Eyeshadow color, lipstick color, and lipstick tone independently influenced the attractiveness and gracefulness and visibility. In the cuteness and softness, eyeshadow color and lipstick tone showed independent effect. In the interaction effect, the combination of lipstick color and lipstick tone showed significant effect on the attractiveness and gracefulness, visibility, and cuteness. Finally, it was found that the combination of eveshadow color and tpstick tone showed significant difference in the softness.

The Influence of Luminous Source Affecting on the Perception of Textile Color (직물색의 지각에 미치는 광원의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the use of the luminous source corresponding to the intention and contribute to product display by visually evaluating the relations between luminous source and colors, analyzing and reviewing the subjective perceptions depending on the luminous source, and clarifying the colors of artificial luminous source that look close to natural lights by each color. Hence, the researcher objectified the subjective evaluation for which they used sensory evaluation method with four colors of luminous sources(natural colors, 2800K, 4200K, and 6500K) and five colors of textiles(purple, blue, green, yellow, and red) by quantifying the evaluation. As a result, we could obtain the conclusion as follows. As for the temperature of textile colors under artificial luminous sources that appeared most close to the colors of textiles under natural luminous sources, 6500K was most frequent, and the temperature of the luminous sources that appeared most different was 2800K. However, as there were also 4200K colors that looked most close to the textile colors under natural light source, it was observed that the temperature differs depending on the textile colors. In addition, less glossy textiles exhibited more visual changes by luminous source colors than comparatively more glossy textiles, and it was observed that the most influenced color was purple, as purple has shown the largest difference among colors.

  • The optical properties of multi layered thin films with $Sb_2O_3/Na_3AlF_6/Sb_2O_3/Cr$ were simulated by using EMP(Essential Macleod Program). EMP is a comprehensive software package to design and analyse the optical characteristics of multi-layered thin film. $Sb_2O_3$ and $Na_3AlF_6$ were selected as a high refractive index and low refractive index material respectively. Additionally Cr was chosen as mid reflective material. Optical properties including color effect were systematically studied in terms of different optical thickness of low refractive index material. The optical thickness of $Na_3AlF_6$ was changed as 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and $1.0\lambda$. The film with 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and $1.0\lambda$ of optical thickness showed mixed color range between purple and red range, yellowish green and bluish green, purple and mixed color range of green and purple respectively.

Sets of stimulus and response scales(7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 128 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, lipstick tone, clothing color, and clothing tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 768 female undergraduates living in Gyeongnam-do. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components, attractiveness, visibility, stability, and softness). In the 4 image components, lipstick tone, clothing color and clothing tone showed independent effect. Eyeshadow color influenced independently on the attractiveness, visibility and stability. According to the variation of clothing color and tone, makeup color, it was investigated that the images for a clothing wearer were expressed diversely, were shown differently in image dimensions, and could be produced to different images.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eyeshadow color (brown, purple, and blue), lipstick color (red, orange, and purple), and lipstick tone(vivid, light, dull, and dark) on the makeup image. The experimental materials used for this study were sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic). The stimuli were 36 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, and lipstick tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 216 female undergraduates living in Jinju city. The data was analyzed by using SPSS program. Analyzing methods were ANOVA and Duncan test. The result of this study are as follows. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components (attractiveness and gracefulness, visibility, cuteness, and softness), Among them, the attractiveness and gracefulness and the visibility were important. Each dimensional image was affected by color coordination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color and lipstick tone. Therefore, the face image through matching eyeshadow and lipstick could be varied by the eyeshadow color, lipstick color and tones.

Quality Characteristics and Antioxidant Activities of Cookies added with Purple Sweet Potato Powder (자색고구마 분말 첨가량을 달리한 쿠키의 항산화 활성 및 품질 특성)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the quality characteristics and antioxidative activities of cookies prepared with different amounts of purple sweet potato powder. Moisture and crude ash contents were lowest in the control group followed in order by the 10%, 20%, and 30% purple sweet potato powder addition groups. The lightness and yellowness values measured by Hunter color system decreased based on the amount of purple sweet potato powder concentration added to cookies. The total phenolic compound and anthocyanin contents were the highest in 30% purple sweet potato powder added cookies. The DPPH radical scavenging activity of 30% purple sweet potato powder added cookies showed the highest values among groups. In the sensory evaluation, the scores for taste, texture and overall preference were significantly highest in cookies with 10% and 20% purple sweet potato powder. Considering the scores of antioxidant activity and sensory evaluation, the concentration of between 10% and 20% addition of purple sweet potato powder would be ideal for development of functional cookies.

Quality Characteristics of Wet Noodles Added with Purple Sweet Potato Powder (자색 고구마 분말 첨가 생면의 품질 특성)

  • This research investigated the quality characteristics and anthocyanin content of wet noodles according to the amount of freeze-dried purple sweet potato powder. For viscosity, initial pasting temperature tended to increase compared to the control group, whereas peak viscosity, peak viscosity time and final viscosity steadily decreased. As the amount of purple sweet potato powder increased, breakdown value of viscosity and set back value significantly decreased. For chromaticity, as the amount of purple sweet potato powder increased, L-value decreased gradually, whereas a-value gradually increased and b-value significantly decreased compared to the control group. Anthocyanin content significantly increased in the addidtive group (91.79) compared to the control group (70.20). Measurement of texture characteristics found that hardness was highest in the control group, but it decreased as the amount of purple sweet potato powder increased. Springiness, gumminess and chewiness were highest in the control group. In the sensory evaluation, color, odor, chewiness, and overall acceptance were high in the 6% addictive group. In this study, by investigating the anthocyanin contents, quality characteristics and sensory attributes of wet noodles with freeze-dried purple sweet potato powder, we found that the 6% additive group is the best. Our results provide basic information for the development of noodles with purple sweet potato powder.

The subjects were 768 female undergraduates living in Gyeongnam-do. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 5 different components, attractiveness, stability, cuteness, visibility, and tenderness. In the 5 image components, clothing style and clothing tone showed independent effect. In the stability, cuteness and visibility, lipstick color showed independent effect. Eyeshadow color and lipstick tone influenced independently on the attractiveness, stability and visibility. In the coordination of achromatic clothing with makeup face, attractiveness image by the coordination of lipstick tone with clothing tone, cuteness image by the coordination of lipstick tone with clothing style or clothing style with clothing tone, visibility image can be produced by the coordination of eyeshadow color with lipstick color.

Effect of Tannin Mordanting on Gromwell-dyed Silk Fabric (견직물의 자초 염색 시 합성탄닌의 매염 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to check color change depending on dyeing conditions when silk fabrics was dyed with gromwell and to investigate mordant effect when synthetic tannin was used as a mordant. First, when silk fabrics were dyed with gromwell, the change of color, brightness and chroma were examined by measuring K/S value, a, b value, L value and C value depending on dyeing condition. Second, color, brightness and chroma differences which appeared after mordanting with synthetic tannin were investigated and muti-functional mordanting effect was confirmed with dyeing fastness, antibiosis. As a result of color analysis of gromwell, it was proved that the main pigment of gromwell was shikonin. Color was red purple at pH 3 when silk fabrics were dyed with gromwell. But It became greenish and bluish as temperature rose and time passed by. And it grew reddish and yellowish as concentration level reached higher. The color became purple at pH 5 and purple blue at pH 7. Both at pH 5 and pH 7, it became greenish and yellowish, as temperature went up and time ran by. And it became reddish with concentration increasing. Brightness and chroma decreased with temperature and concentration increasing as well as time passing by. After mordanting with synthetic tannin, the color became less reddish at pH 3 and reddish-yellowish at pH 5 and pH 7. The brightness increased and the chroma decreased. At all pH, the color, the brightness and the chroma became similarly by synthetic tannin mordanting. Dyeing fastness of synthetic tannin mordanted fabric was higher than that of non-mordanted fabric. Especially, wet fastness at pH 3 improved from 1 grade before synthetic tannin mordanting to $3{\sim}4$ grade after tannin mordanting. Antibiosis was improved by gromwell dyeing and synthetic tannin mordanting.

Color Preference Study for Mountain-Climbing Wear According to Gender (남·여 등산객의 등산복 색채 선호 비교 연구)

  • This paper aims to identify the similarities and differences of color preference for mountain climbing wear according to gender, season and item. Total of 749 photos of mountain climbers were taken in 2009 during weekends in May and October at two mountains in Seoul. In order to analyze color by hue and tone, all the data were digitalized using Photoshop and converted to HV/C by using the Munsell Conversion software. For the purpose of data analysis, 13 colors of hue, including 10 base colors of the Munsel color system plus white, gray and black, and 12 tones of PCCS were grouped into 5 groups according to close distance. Jumper, t-shirts, vest and pants were selected as the 4 item categories. Results showed that there were clear differences in color preference based on gender. Women, with a preference for red, reddish purple, black, purple and blue, displayed wider range of choices in color as compared to men, who preferred black and blue color throughout all seasons. Yellow, green, and greenish blue were less preferred by both men and women. For pants, black represented over 90% as the main color for both genders. Overall, men preferred dark tones and women preferred vivid and bright tones. Moreover, there were less distinct differences in color preference according to season and item.
