Market Segmentation of Musical Audience - Focused on University Students - (뮤지컬 관객의 시장세분화 연구 - 국내 대학생 관객을 중심으로 -)

  • This study tries to segment musical market to provide Korean musical marketers with marketing strategy implication. We focused university students who are known to form attractive market in the musical market through existing studies. For this research, we divided whole musical market using various variables such as musical audience' demographic, lifestyle and purchasing behavior variables. Using mixture model, we could divided as four significant segments : 'the type of musical mania', 'the type of musical preference', 'the type of musical medium' and the type of indifferent musical'. Each segment showed different musical purchase behaviors, lifestyle and demographical characteristics, also we suggested marketing strategy to each segment. Our research results can contribute to understand objectively musical market.

A Study on the Wearing Practice and Recognized Body Type of Skirts According to Women's Age (연령에 따른 스커트 착용 실태 및 하의용 체형 인지 조사)

  • This study was conducted to find out the purchasing characteristics, the wearing practices and the preferring style of skirts. Also the comparison between recognized body type and actual body type for skirt was analyzed. The questionnaire was developed and administered to 179 women aged 20 to 59 in Busan. The women of 20th liked to buy skirts at the road shops and the internet shops but the 30th, 40th and 50th at the department stores and the discount stores. The main purpose of buying skirts was to coordinate with other clothes. The design of skirt was the most important factor of buying. The women of the 20th wore skirts without special purpose but the 30th, 40th and 50th wore those for social life. The women of the 20th liked to wear skirts with t-shirts and cardigan, the 30th with blouse and cardigan and 40~50th with blouse and jacket. As the age increased, the ratio of women who felt discomfort of skirts increased. Most of these women felt discomforts in the waist and abdomen part of skirt. The style of skirt that made up for the weak points in the body type was preferred. The preferred silhouettes of skirts were semi-tight and A-line. The preferred lengths of skirts were different from ages. Black was preferred color of skirts. There was a significant difference in recognized body type according to age groups. As the age increased, the ratio of women who thought themselves as thick waist type increased. Just only 43% women of total subjects recognized their body type accurately.

A Study on Kochujang(Fermented Red Pepper-Soy Paste) Consumption and Preference of Housewives in Inchon (인천 지역 주부들의 고추장 사용실태 및 기호성에 관한 연구)

  • Consumption and general views of housewives in Inchon on commercial kochujang(fermented red pepper-soy paste) were surveyed by questionnaires in June through August, 1997. Respondents considered the taste (88.1%) as the most important factors to determine the quality of kochujang and preferred hot(621%) and bright red colored kochujang(70.6%) with fine red pepper powder Eighty seven percent of respondents preferred the traditional kochujang to the commercial one mainly due to the taste and the reliability to the materials kochujang. Especially all housewives at the age of sixty and over preferred traditional kochujang and those at twenties had a higher preferrence for the commercial one compared to other age groups. While 51.4% of the respondents consumed both e traditional and commercial kochujang, 16.2% and 32.5% did only commercial and traditional kochujang, respectively. Consumption of commercial kochujang decreased with age and main food with it was pan fried dishes(33.7%). Convenience(76.6%) was the major reason for purchasing commercial fried and most respondents(44.1%) selected the special brand from the previous experience of their own. Problems to be improved in commercial kochujang were better taste(31.3%) and development of diverse usage(62.4%).

Investigation of Foodservice in some social welfare facilities in Seoul (사회 복지 시설의 급식관리 실태조사)

  • The following study was done to investigate foodservice management practice. Total subjects were 18 foodservices in social welfare facilities in Seoul. Among studied facilities, nine were the welfare facilities for children, five were the welfare facilities for elderly, two were the welfare facilities for a mentally and physically disabled person and the remaining two were vagabond care facilities. Methods used were mainly questionaires. These questionaires were answered by manager and interviews were also done for a same person. Equipments were evaluated by investigators using the evaluation form. The results of the study were summarized as follows. Number of cooks and assistant cooks among employee in foodservice establishment were about 2-6 persons. One dietitian is stationed in 2 places among 18 places. Food purchasing and menu plannings were mainly practiced by manager, secretary and other personnels, in more than 50% of social welfare facilities. The type of the menu in most facilities was the set menu. The period of turn over for cycle menu was a week in 50% of facilities. Seventy seven point eight percentage of the welfare facilities were used the weekly or monthly cycle. For the food preparation, there was almost no place using standard recipes. Foodstuffs were purchased in local market. Moreover, the preference test of served foods were done for residence of each facilities. But it was not applicated effectively. Conditions of most equipments in the kitchen were defective specially in dishwashing and sterilization step.

The Impact of Corporate's Attributes on Corporate Pension Insurance Products & Type Preference (한국 기업 속성에 따른 기업연금보험 상품 및 제도유형 선호도 분석)

  • Purpose - The total amount of advanced Corporate Pension Insurance products exceed 148 trillion Korean Won at the end of 2016. For a firm with over 300 employees, when a bill on compulsion of introduction of Corporate Pension Insurance products, currently pending in court, is passed, Corporate Pension shall be an essential. The findings of the paper will provide a guideline for understanding on firm's attributes and its effects towards introduction of Corporate Pension Insurance products. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected using statistics of employer panel survey from Korea Labour Institute in 2013. The study analyses a sample survey on 1,775 outstanding enterprises and their HR department among whole corporations in Korea. For analysis of data, empirical testing by Logistic Regression was utilized. Results - As an outcome of empirical testing, variables on share of regular employees and the aged employees in over 50's generates a significant statistical meaning. It eventually gives a great impact on purchase of Corporate Pension scheme. Moreover, variables on corporate financial statement, current sales, current net income, total amount of the debts, labor cost per person also has a vital influence on introduction of Corporate Pension Insurance products. Lastly, variables on firm's labor relationship have no effect except for the execution or non-execution of HR consulting. Meanwhile, Variables affecting a choice on pension schemes types among firm's attributes are a share of regular employees, current net income, execution or non-execution of HR consulting etc. These variables represents a statistical implication. According to their each features, they prefer DB or DC plan. Conclusions - Introduction of corporate pension scheme is apposite to contemporary Korea's situation entering a hyper-aging society and firms with a high share of regular employees, the weight of aging, current sales, current net income and labor cost per person are exceedingly active in purchasing Corporate Pension Insurance products. However, after the introduction of corporate pension scheme, firms which has an implementation of consultation on human resource management, flexible benefits plan, job security and welfare system prefer DC plan whereas from financial perspective firms with high net income prefer DB plan.

A Study of Design Preference and Purchase Behavior by Segmentation of Fashion images on Sportive style (스포티브 스타일의 패션 이미지 세분화에 따른 선호도 및 구매행동 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the fashion images on sportive style, to find out the difference between the image of sportive style which consumers prefer and the image of sportive style which they want to show and, finally, to analyze their purchase behavior. This research is done with survey method. The subjects of the survey are 835 females in their twenties or their thirties in Pusan area. The data are analyzed with factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, $X^2$-test, and frequency analysis. The results of this study are as follows: first, sportive style is classified into Sexy, Romantic, Active and Modem image. Second, the results of analysis on consumers' preferring image and their wanting-to-show image to the above-mentioned image classification are as follows: firstly, the subjects' most preferring image and the image which they most want to show is Modem in1age. The second is Sexy image. But the subjects preferred having Modem image. Secondly, consumers' Individuality and apparel's Function are the important reasons to choose the sportive style. Thirdly, Modem image is the most preferred in the images of street wear. Sexy image and Active image are the preferred in the images of sports wear. Third, It is a vivid tone and a dark tone that is the color tone of sportive wear which consumers prefer. They prefer a logo- patterned sports wear, too. The consumers obtain most information on sports wear from sports wear stores. Silhouette is the most decisive design element in consumers' purchasing. The sports wear brands which the subjects prefer are Adidas and Nike.

  • It is frequent to develop the fashion product through predict purchasing needs of consumers in Textile and Fashion Industry. If failed in its prediction, that is, if consumers would not purchase the product, there comes some problems that big sale is inevitable or stock increase tremendously. Otherwise, Quick Response System allows that the company observe the consumer's needs consistently and design products and establish manufacture schedule rapidly so that they could prohibit the products unnecessarily stocked. Consumer's preference is collected and analyzed through the data generated by POS system, and this is provided to the related manufacturer through network in realtime, so that the manufactures could merchandise, produce and provide the products according to the consumer's need. Thus, this study developed POS system-education program, that is, the merchandising of apparel product, product by prediction, retailer, purchase behavior, reduction in stock inventory and product lead time, cooperative system between apparel company and retailer, and conformation to the consumer's needs are included in this program, through binding the new technology in textile and fashion industry for the purpose of Quick Response system.

The Assessment of Foodservice Management Practices in Elementary School Foodservices (초등학교 급식소의 급식실태조사)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the foodservice management practices in elementary school in order to provide basic information for an efficient foodservice management. A self completed questionnaire survey of 912 schools in Korea was undertaken. Survey questionnaires consisted of 4 parts including general background, foodservice practices, purchasing practices and the status of cooking facilities and equipments. The main results of the empirical survey were as follows. 1. Elementary schools categorized by location were in urban areas (38.2%), provincial areas (48.0%) and in isolated areas (13.8%). 2. Conventional schools were 72.4% of the total followed by commissary management schools(23.5%) and commissary schools(4.1%). 3. The major factors considered for menu planning were nutritional adequacy(77.4%), preference of children(50.8%), food cost(46.0%), and cooking facilities & equipments in order. 4. The average cost of school lunch in provincial areas was 1494.8$\pm$224.9 won followed by in isolated areas (1337.0$\pm$793.3won) and in large cities (1271.4$\pm$308.1won). The average food cost of lunch was approximately 950won with no significant difference by location of schools. 5. 60% processed food were purchased through retailers in schools located in provincial and isolated areas, whereas 6.6% in schools located in urban areas. Food groups such as meat and its processed food, poultries, fish & shellfish, fruits and vegetables were more purchased through wholesalers in schools located in urban areas than in provincial and isolated areas. 6. Cereals including rice were regularily purchased once a month, whereas of other food items were found to be daily purchased in school located in urban and provincial areas.

A Study on the Image Types and User's Preference on Image-based Fashion Curation of Domestic and Foreign SPA Brands (국내·외 SPA 브랜드의 이미지 기반 패션 큐레이션 이미지 유형 및 이용자의 이미지 선호에 관한 연구)

  • This study classified and analyzed the types of images posted on official accounts operated by domestic and foreign SPA brands on Instagram and Pinterest, which are image-based fashion curations, and performed a survey on preferred image types in the fashion curations of SPA brands. It aims to induce active apparel purchasing behavior of consumers through the suggestion of image types about fashion curations for effective communication between fashion brands and consumers. The survey to targets the 20s and 30s was carried out from October 23, 2015 until November 22 and conducted factor analysis, paired t-test. The above images were classified into four types based on previous studies: product images, brand images, lifestyle images, multiple images. The results of the survey were also divided into four factors in line with the classification of image types. Generally, foreign SPA brands(H&M, Uniqlo, Zara) used image-based fashion curation services more frequently than domestic SPA brands(8Seconds, Mixxo, Spao, Tngt). The analysis of image types in the fashion curations of SPA brands showed that product images accounted for the highest proportion of images used in the official accounts of SPA brands. However, the comparison of averages on the preferred image types of survey respondents showed that the users who had once visited the official accounts of SPA brands on Instagram and Pinterest preferred in the order of lifestyle information > product information > brand information > multiple information provided by SPA brands, which was statistically significant.

Evaluation of the Recognition and Satisfaction for Functional Bakery Products (베이커리의 기능성 제품에 대한 인지도 및 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study evaluated on the recognition and satisfaction for functional bakery products by consumers living in Seoul, Overall, 82.0% answered of the respondents reported that they had 'yes' which was 4.5 times as much as those who answered 'no' tried functional bakery products. Purchasing mostly depended on 'myself' (69.0%), and other methods of acquiring information as well as 'bakery' (10.8%), 'neighbour' (8.5%), 'media' (7.9%), and the 'internet' (3.7%). The preferred functional ingredients were 'sweet potato' with (22.9%), and 'rye and oat' (13.8%), 'green tea' (13.5%), 'pumpkin' (11.4%), and 'chestnut' (7.3%) were other preferred ingredients. The reasons for this preference were that they were 'healthy' by (47.1%) and had a 'good taste' by (36.6%). Evaluation of the recognition of functional bakery products revealed that, 'nutrition' had the highest scale of recognition of (3.80 out of 5), and followed by 'healthy' with (3.69 out of 5). Conversely, 'proper price' received a below average score of 2.97, indicating dissatisfaction. Moreover, the overall average satisfaction with functional bakery products was 3.37, and with the taste, nutrition, and quality receiving a highly satisfactory score of 3.52, and price receiving an unsatisfactory score of 3.00. The factors most important to improve functional bakery products were, 'variety' (37.6%) was most important, followed by 'increased nutrition' (21.2%) and 'lower price' needed to be improved as well. The factor that had the greatest influence on the decision to purchase functional bakery products was 'material' with (3.737) followed by 'name value' with (3.56).
