In order to estimate demersal fishes using acoustic echo sounders and echo integrators, we consider several problems that are accurate bottom detection, optimum bottom offset and dead zone. The dead zone where no fish detection are summed distance resolution by the half pulse length of transmitted pulse and beam angle above the seabed. This paper has considered the dead-zone correction method to be technically correct for survey of demersal fishes. A comparison between near-bottom SV profiles acquired in Funka Bay, Hokkaido, of Japan, the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, of Korea, with before and after the bottom correction, shows that the SV obtained with after the bottom correction is 2∼3dB higher than before the bottom correction in Funka Bay, and 17dB higher in East China Sea, too.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the opinions of Korean medical doctors on how to elucidate possible remedial measures for expanding the health insurance benefits coverage item of Korean medicine (KM). Methods: An online survey was conducted to all members who had registered e-mail address in the association of Korean medicine from 1 to 17 November, 2016. Statistical analysis was performed and odds ratio with 95% confidence interval were calculated by each subgroup. Results: A total of 743 members answered the questions and the response rate was 4.1%. The priorities for expanding health insurance benefits were as follows: thermographic imaging, Sasang constitution typing test, and pulse wave among examinations; pharamacopuncture, embedding acupuncture, and acupotomy among procedures; Chuna manual therapy, manual therapy for meridian muscle, and Daoyin exercise therapy among manual therapies; low-frequency electrical therapy, traction, paraffin bath, and light therapy among physical therapies; and aromatherapy, enema therapy, and color therapy among activities of KM. Conclusions: It should be covered by the national health insurance (NHI) of KM that thermographic imaging, pharmacoacupuncture, Chuna manual therapy, low-frequency electrical therapy, aromatherapy as a top priority. We also suggest that basic medical tests, such as blood, urine, or imaging, should be included in the coverage of the NHI of KM. It is necessary to review the expertise and public opinions about the plans and priorities for the conversion of the desired medical services to be covered by the NHI.
Objectives: This study was aimed to research clinical characteristics of female patients with cold hypersensitivity on the hands and feet compared with non-cold hypersensitivity group. Methods: 134 women patients were collected from 6 Korean medicine hospitals, and divided into 2 groups(cold hypersensitivity group and non-cold hypersensitivity group). This survey was composed of 19 questions related to clinical symptoms of cold hypersensitivity. Results: We found out the differences between 2 groups in 10 questions among 19 questions in the survey results. (Body Type, Energy, Digestibility, Skin Type, Facial Complexion, Chill, Dry Mouth and Thirst, Preference between Coolness and Warmth, Thickness of Tongue Fur, Floating and Sinking of Pulse) Conclusions: From these results, Patients with cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet have relative clinical characteristics as follows. They are relatively weak and lethargic. They have dry skin and look more pale. They feel chill easily and have dry mouth and thirst. They prefer warmth and have indigestion more. They had more various infirm and ill clinical characteristics compared with the other group from the view of Korean medicine.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of bio-signal devices for the diagnosis, assessment, and analysis of neurocognitive disorder in Korean medicine (KM) hospitals and clinics. Methods: A questionnaire was developed to survey the current status of medical device use, and diagnosis and interventions for patients with cognitive disorders in KM hospitals and clinics. November 11~December 2, 2019, 114 responses (71.9% completed) were collected by internet-based questionnaires from the members of the Korean society of Oriental Neuropsychiatry. Results: The clinical requests were in the descending order of hematology analyzer, ultrasound imaging system, and electroencephalography among the 15 most commonly used devices of which research would support for their clinical usability. The biosignal-based devices showed the highest research demands for patients with mild cognitive impairment rather than more severe stages of cognitive impairment. Prevention rather than diagnosis, or several treatment regimens was the strongest clinical area of the KM for patients with neurodegenerative cognitive impairment. Many responded that five to 10 minutes of test duration and 20,000 won to 30,000 won of cost would be appropriated for a new device to be developed. Conclusions: There were strong demands for the development of bio-signal devices for neurocognitive disorders among the KM doctors. Specifically, it showed high needs for the technology that can be used in the prevention area of cognitive disorders. Additionally, new medical devices to assess cognitive functions and to obtain KM pattern-related information were the high needs.

The feasibility study must be conducted for construction of complex for generation of electric power such as items to get permission and grid connection etc. including wind resource to construct a complex for wind power generation. Since wind power can be used by converting only around 20~40% of energy coming in that kinetic energy of wind passes through blades and driving device into electric energy, when constructing a complex, the survey of wind resource takes up the most important part. Data logger used to measure this wind energy are expressed by calculating generally electromotive that is created from a sensor, variable-type, pulse-type signal to be proper for the actual value, and most data loggers have a type without considering geographical features. Besides, in the case of Met mast that is installed to survey the wind resource, since it is installed lower than the hub height of a wind power generator due to permission matters and the economic factors, the height of wind speed by utilizing Deacon equation is compensated to revise this. In this study, a device measuring wind speed was made by using algorithm that is possible to compensate the height of wind speed according to regional features and by applying Deacon equation, and the function of data storage through SD card or RS232 communication was added as well. Besides it's possible to check data more easily with a type of graph by using LCD touch screen for the convenience of users.
Background: Surface soil radiation monitoring around nuclear facilities is important to classify and characterize the contaminated areas. A scanning and direct measurement technique can survey the sites rapidly before starting sampling analysis. Materials and Methods: Regarding this, we test and suggest a measurement technique for gross alpha/beta and 90Sr activities in surface soil based on a mobile ZnS(Ag)/PVT (polyvinyltoluene) array and a handheld PVT rod, respectively. To detect 90Sr selectively in soil mixed with naturally occurring radioactive materials, chosen energy channel counts from the multichannel analyzers were used instead of whole channel counts. Soil samples contaminated with exempt liquid 90Sr with 1 Bq·g-1, 3 Bq·g-1, and 10 Bq·g-1 were prepared and hardened by flocculation. Results and Discussion: The mobile ZnS(Ag)/PVT array could discriminate gross alpha, gross beta, and gamma radiation by the different pulse-shaped signal features of each sensor material. If the array is deployed on a vehicle, the scan minimum detectable concentration (MDC) range will be about 0.11-0.17 Bq·g-1 at 18 km·h-1 speed, highly sensitive to actual sites. The handheld PVT rod with 12 mm (Φ) × 20 mm (H) size can directly measure 90Sr selectively if channels on which energies are from 1,470 and 2,279 keV are gated, minimizing crossdetection of other radionuclides. These methods were verified by measuring soil samples fabricated with homogeneous 90Sr concentrations, showing static MDC of 2.16 Bq·g-1 at a measurement time of 300 seconds. Conclusion: Based on the results, comprehensive procedures using these detectors are suggested to optimize soil sites survey.
From January, 2004 to July, 2007, 97 patients were diagnosed with Acute coronary syndrome(ACS) in Emergency Medical Center in Jecheon City in Korea. Among 97 patients, the prehospital assessment rates were as follows ; blood pressure check(27.80%, pulse rate check(33.0%), respiration check(23.7%). In hospital emergency care, oxygen supply was 52.6%, absolute bed rest was 12.4%, electrocardiogram(EKG) check was 4.1%, and nitroglycerin and intravenous fluid therapy was 0%. Therefore, ACS patients have not received sufficient prehospital cares till now. In order to improve the proficiency of the first aid emergency medical technicians(EMTs), it is necessary to provide the continuing On-the-job training(OJT) programs for prehospital emergency care.
