High Pulse SCR Inverter for Utility Interactive Renewable Power Generation System (계통연계형 대체에너지 발전시스템을 위한 고펄스 SCR 인버터)

  • In this paper, a new line-commutated SCR inverter for renewable power generation system is proposed. The proposed inverter system includes a 6-pulse SCR inverter and an auxiliary circuit. By the proper operation of the auxiliary circuit, the pulse number of the inverter system is increased and the output harmonic currents are reduced. Analysis, control and simulation for 24 pulse operation of the proposed scheme is presented and the experimental results will be provided in the final paper.

  • Microwave heating system of KSTAR consists of ECH and LHCD. ECH and LHCD offer the reliability of operation in the beginning of plasma formation and non-inductive current drive for long time steady state operation with maintaining MHD stability, respectively. LHCD demands 5 GHz of frequency and consists of c-band waveguide, 4-port circuitor, dry dummy load, dual directional coupler, E-bend, arc detector. Our system is a lineup type pulse modulator that has 45 kV of output pulse voltage, 90 A of pulse current, 4 us of pulse width. 1:4 step-up pulse transformer, 7 stages of PFN and thyratron tube (E2V, CX1191D) are used in this modulator. The purpose of this paper is to show the modulator design and experimental result.

  • Objectives : The paper seeks to provide a study on Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis in the contexts of Huangdi Neijing's Maijing and Nanjing. Methods : The paper provides a comparison of sentences regarding Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis discovered in Neijing, Maijing, and Nanjing. Results & Conclusions: 1. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis was given birth through stages in accoradnce with the development of Pyobonjin, Maeggujin, Gyeongmaeghyjin, and Meridian Theory. 2. It seems that Neijing filled in Sambuguhujin and In-yeongbuyangmaegjin because they were not discovered in Canggong's Records of Diagnosis. 3. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis diagnosed death using Osaegjin. Underneath each sentence within each biography regarding Meridian, there existed Pulse dead Hou. 4. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis quantified the operation and length of pulse in time. The concept of small net was added which led to the establishment of Fifty circulations, Yeongwi theory, Meridians circulation, and chongu's boundary.

A Study on the Discharge Characteristics of High Speed Addressing for the HDTV Class Plasma Display (HDTV급 플라즈마 디스플레이의 고속 어드레스 방전특성에 관한 연구)

  • The discharge characteristics of 3 electrcdes AC surface discharge plasma display were analyzed. For an unstable state of the discharge which appeared at the maximum discharge voltage, it is found that a parbal erase of the wall charge by the second discharge is a cause. Based on the second discharge, new operation margin considering the interrelation between the address discharge and the display discharge was defined and the validity of it was verified by the experiments. It is necessary to decrease the acklress pulse width for high-speed addressing. However, the operation margin of the ackIress pulse decreases as the pulse width of it becomes narrower. If the address pulse width is wider than l[ps], the operation margin of the display discharge is not related to the address pulse width. From the experimental result, image or 8bit 253 gray level was displayed on PDP with the cell structure of the HDTV class by using the high-speed address ADS drive methcd with pulse width of $1[{\mu}s]$ and the brightness of $560[cd/m^2]$ was obtained. ained.

  • In Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) experiments, to achieve long pulse and high-power ICRH system operation, a new kind of ICRH antenna has been designed. One of the most critical factors in limiting the operation of long pulse and high power is the intense heat load in the front face of the ICRH antenna, especially the Faraday Screen (FS). Therefore, the cooling channels of FS need to be designed. According to thermal-hydraulic analysis, the FS tubes are divided into several groups to achieve more excellent water cooling capability. The number of series and parallel tubes in one group is chosen as six. This antenna went into service in the spring of 2021, and it is delightful that the temperature distribution of the FS tube is below 400 ℃ in 14.5 s and 1.8 MW ICRH system operation. However, the active water-cooling design was not carried out on the upper and lower plates of FS, which led to severe ablations on that region under long pulse and high power operation, and the temperature is up to 800. Therefore, the upper and lower side plates of the FS were designed with water cooling based on thermal-hydraulic analysis. During the 2022 winter experiments, the temperature of ICRH antenna FS was lower than 400 in the pulse of 200s and the power of 1 MW operation.

  • This paper presents the self-matched line pulse generator and the concerned principles on its operation and characteristics are mentioned. The circuit consists of a charged transmission line and a high speed switch, and it generates a square wave pulse with the very fast rise time. The generated waveform depends on the load resistance. As the load resistance is infinite, a single rectangular wave pulse is generated and its efficiency is nearly unity.

  • We have developed Magnetic Pulse Compression System to realize repetitive excimer laser excitation. The principle of this system is to use the large change in permiability owing to the nolinear characteristics of ferro-magnetic material (Metglas2605s-2 metal ribon). Prior to the laser operation, the MPC system was tested with a dummy load (5$\Omega$) and laser head. Laser head has a discharge volume of 1.0 (w) x 2.0 (h) x 20.0(1) cm. This MPC system compressed a 6.2us (FWHM), 80 A pulse into a 0.4us(FWHM), 1.3kA pulse.

  • An assembly package program is developed for a computerize4 operation of a drilling machine system utilizing a microprocessor. Different drilling instruction requires merely the input of different sets of input data. To make pulse motors to follow their input pulse trains with fidelity, an optimum start-stop rate matrix is proposed, whose elements are determined according to the pulse motor torque and the load inertia of the mechanical system composed of a workpiece and a worktable.

Pulsed Power Modulator based on IGBTs (IGBT 기반 고압 펄스전원장치)

  • In this paper, a novel new pulse power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed for pulse power application. Proposed scheme consists of series connected 9 power stages to generate maximum 60kV output pulse and one series resonant power inverter to charge DC capacitor voltage. Each power stages are configured as 8 series connected power cells and each power cell generates up to 850VDC pulse. Finally pulse output voltage is applied using total 72 series connected IGBTs. The synchronization of gating signal is important for series operation of IGBTs. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating and specially designed gate power circuit was used. Proposed scheme has lots of advantages such as long lifecyle, compact size, flat topped pulse forming, small weight, protection for arc, high efficiency and flexibility to generate various kinds of pulse output.

Reciprocal Sustain and Auxiliary Pulse Waveforms Applied to an AC PDP with an Auxiliary Electrode

  • Modified pulse waveforms were applied to an AC plasma display panel with an auxiliary electrode in order to improve the operation voltage margin. Reciprocal sustain pulse waveforms and modified auxiliary pulse waveforms were applied to the sustain and auxiliary electrode, respectively. During the sustain period, the influence of the address electrode on the luminous efficacy of long-coplanar gap discharges was mitigated by application of reciprocal sustain pulse waveforms. Modified auxiliary pulse waveforms maintained the high efficacy obtained from the AC PDP with an auxiliary electrode. The proposed reciprocal sustain and modified auxiliary pulses waveforms can induce stable discharges in long-coplanar gap discharges and can control wall charges with a wider auxiliary pulse voltage margin, thereby enhancing the luminous efficacy of the AC PDP with an auxiliary electrode.
