In this paper, a novel measurement method of radial artery pulse waveform using robotic applanation tonometry (RAT) was present to reduce the errors by the pressing direction of the vessel. The RAT consisted of an array of pressure sensors and 2-axis tilt sensor, which was attached to the universal joint with a linear spring and five-DOF robotic manipulator with a one-axis force sensor. Using the RAT mechanism, the pulse sensor could be manipulated to perpendicularly pressurize the radial artery. A pilot experimental result showed that the proposed mechanism could find the optimal pressurization angles of the pulse sensor within ${\pm}3^{\circ}$standard deviations. Coefficient values of variation of maximum pulse peaks extracted from the pulse waveforms were 4.692, 6.994, and 11.039 % for three channels with the highest magnitudes. It is expected that the proposed method can be helpful to develop more precise tonometry system measuring the pulse waveform on the radial artery.
The detector suffers from pulse pileup by overlapping of the signals when it was used in high radiation fields. The pulse pileup deteriorates the energy spectrum and causes count losses due to random co-incidences, which might not resolve within the resolving time of the detection system. In this study, it is aimed to propose a new pulse pileup correction method. The proposed method is to correct the start point of the pileup pulse. The parameters are obtained from the fitted exponential curve using the peak point of the previous pulse and the start point of the pileup pulse. The amplitude at the corrected start point of the pileup pulse can be estimated by the peak time of the pileup pulse. The system is composed of a NaI (Tl) scintillation crystal, a photomultiplier tube, and an oscilloscope. A 61 μCi 137Cs check-source was placed at a distance of 3 cm, 5 cm, and 10 cm, respectively. The gamma energy spectra for the radioisotope of 137Cs were obtained to verify the proposed method. As a result, the correction of the pulse pileup through the proposed method shows a remarkable improvement of FWHM at 662 keV by 29, 39, and 7%, respectively.

In this paper, the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method for lead battery of the solar cell generator equipment is proposed. And we propose the control circuit and design method of insulated switching mode convert type pulse charger by fly-back convert method in the lead battery. The proposed system can minimize the current consumption by digital pulse. Also the proposed system can generate the constant 10[KHz] frequency, transmit the signal with main control system in the power control system. And it supervises the state of lead battery using one chip micro processor. The proposed the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by the fly-back converter method can charge fast and stabilize lead battery with nominal value 12[V], 20[AH]. Also we propose the design procedure of the power control circuit for turn ratio of fly-back inductor and determining method of values such as the charging current, bulk current, partial current, over current value and fixed charging voltage. The experiment results for the voltage and current wave for partial, bulk, over and fixed charging period show the good charging effect and performance. And the PCB and internal coupling diagram of the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method is presented.

The pulsed poser system has been widely used to many applications, such as E/P(Electrostatic Precipitator), DeNox/DeSOx power system, ozon generator, etc. A pulse energy efficiency for load depends on the rising time, peak value, pulse duration and impedance matching, etc. The pulse generator generally required for short pusle duration and high peak value was forced to consider its volume and economy. In this study, developing a compact pulse generator that applied for cascading method to be made of two pulse transformers, we compared cascading voltage with non cascading one by applying the pulse energy to load. Adopting cascading technique to pulse transformer, we found that average cascading voltage was about 60[%] of theoretical value. Maximum cascading ratio was calculated at 60 times compared with non cascading voltage.

Some observed weather spectra show that nearly 25% of weather spectra are seriously skewed and can not be considered to be symmetric. However, the conventional pulse pair method was derived and has been evaluated under the assumption that the weather spectrum is symmetric and narrow. This means that the conventional pulse pair method may need reevaluation. Therefore, this paper analyzed the bias errors of pulse pair estimates in the skewed spectra. The bias errors of pulse pair mean estimates are more serious comparing with the pulse pair width estimates. In this paper, the poly-pulse pair method is suggested to reduce these bias errors of mean estimates. It was shown that the mean bias errors can be reduced remarkably using the newly suggested poly-pulse pair method.

In this paper, the effect of pulse width modulation methods on thermal loadings and power losses of single-phase five-level NPC inverters for photovoltaic systems are analyzed. The pulse width modulation methods affect the power losses of the NPC inverters and thus lead to different thermal loadings of NPC inverters. To identify the reliability-critical power device with respect to thermal stress, the thermal loadings of I- and T-type NPC inverters are analyzed by applying the unipolar pulse modulation method. Then, the effect of the discontinuous pulse width modulation method on power losses and thermal loadings of power devices of I- and T-type NPC inverters are analyzed. Finally, the operation of NPC inverters applying the discontinuous pulse modulation method is confirmed by experiments. The results show that the discontinuous pulse modulation method is able to improve the reliability of NPC inverters by reducing thermal loadings of reliability-critical power devices and it is more effective for T-type NPC inverters than I-type NPC inverters.

A new high-speed drive method for the plasma display panel is proposed. In this method, the address period is inserted for the rest period of the sustain pulses and the priming pulse is applied on the entire panel at the same time overlapping with the sustain period. The ramp shaped priming pulse can be made with a simple drive circuit in this technology and the stable sustain discharge can be induced even by a narrow scan pulse in help of the space charge generated from the address discharge. From the experiments, it is ascertained that the priming pulse hardly influences the sustain discharge. Moreover, the voltage margin of the sustain discharge is almost constant though that of the address discharge broadens with narrowing the scan pulse width. And, if the time interval between the scan pulse and the sustain pulse is within $6{\mu}s$, the voltage margin of the address and the sustain discharges are unaffected though the applied position of the scan pulse is changed. High-speed driving with the address pulse of $0.7{\mu}s$ width was achieved and the address voltage margin of 20V and the sustain voltage margin of 10V were obtained.
We present a pulse shape tailored for broadband decoupling for a system of spin-1/2's with scalar couplings as well. In crafting the pulse shape Coherent Averaging Theory and Fourier expansion method are used. The Fourier expansion coefficients are optimized numerically by applying the Simulated Annealing Method. The decoupling performance of the shaped pulse thus designed is then compared with the well-known composite pulse sequence, DIPSI-2. It is shown that the shaped pulse performs well even at the conditions where the DIPSI sequence begins to fail.

The pulse diagnosis is the basic method of oriental medicine diagnosis. But in sasang constitutional medicine, it is said that it's not a major diagnotic method. But we don't have any sasang constitutional study of the pulse diagnosis. So I made this study by research of changing concept of the pulse diagnosis in chinese medical history and Dongyi Suse Bowon (longevity and life preservation in oriental medicine). The conclusion as follows. 1. There were many kinds of the pulse diagnosis in the ancient times, it has developed to simple and effective diagnotic method. Simple and effective is the major point of medical development, the 24 pulse is abridged to Floating Pulse(浮), Deep Pulse(沈), Slow Pulse(遲), Rapid Pulse(數) 2. The latter term of Chosun, the practical study was developed. In the view of the practical study, the pulse diagnosis has a lot of cricical point. Jung Yak-Yong, in his writing Mak Lon(脈論), criticize the pulse diagnosis. 3. In the sasang constitutional medicine, the constitutional diagnosis is very important. The methods of the constitutional diagnosis are three, the way of mind and greed, knowledge and deed, external figure and physical traits. But the pulse diagnosis is one of the way of external figure and physical traits, so we can't diagnose the exact constitution by the pulse diagnosis. 4. Dong-mu conclude that the pulse diagnosis is just the diagnostic way of symptom. But in the clinical situation, the ordinary symptoms are more important than the pulse diagnosis, because it is useful to know the condition of the ingestive food metabolism and the Qi-yack metabolism

Objectives : Literatures related to Bianque are studied to discover the path of development and the impact of Bianque school's pulse diagnosis system. Methods : Texts regarding Bianque were searched in history books such as Shiji and Zhanguoce, and medical texts such as the medical books of Mawangdui Han Tomb, Huangdineijng, Maijing, and Qianjinyifang to understand how the Bianque school's pulse diagnosis system was developed. Results : 1. Bianque school's pulse diagnosis system was used to inspect the distribution pattern of blood vessels and discover the location of the disease including the palpatation realm such as only hard or only fall. 2. The system of inspection was created when the diagnosis method that uses the color of the pulse by using the color of blood vessels was added to the diagnostic method of pulse condition. 3. Adding the concept of pulse to the visual information that derives from pulse condition becomes pulsation. This is a diagnostic method that falls under the realm of palpation, and it was used to discover the location of disease. 4. The qi of pulse is motor that induces pulse, and this concept is used in order to understand how normal and abnormal pulsations appear, and to treat the circulation disorder of qi and blood. 5. Cubit skin examination is a method that comprehensively take into account the upper arm skin's cold and heat, slippery and roughness, and relax and tension state. This method was used together with other diagnostic methods. As described above, it seems that the diagnostic method with blood vessels used by Bianque school seems to have developed from Bianque's special inspection ability to the stage where it uses palpation, and then to the stage of cubit skin examination which uses both palpation and inspection.
