Fault Detection of Rolling Element Bearing for Low Speed Machine Using Wiener Filter and Shock Pulse Counting (위너 필터와 충격 펄스 카운팅을 이용한 저속 기계용 구름 베어링의 결함 검출)

  • The low speed machinery faults are usually caused by the bearing failure of the rolling elements. As the life time of the bearing is limited, the condition monitoring of bearing is very important to maintain the continuous operation without failures. A few monitoring techniques using time domain, frequency domain and fuzzy neural network vibration analysis are introduced to detect and diagnose the faults of the low speed machinery. This paper presents a method of fault detection for the rolling element bearing in the low speed machinery using the Wiener filtering and shock pulse counting techniques. Wiener filter is used for noise cancellation and it clearly makes the shock pulse emerge from the time signal with the high level of noise. The shock pulse counting is used to determine the various faults obviously from the shock signal with transient pulses not related with the bearing fault. Machine fault simulator is used for the experimental measurement in order to verify this technique is the powerful tool for the low speed machine compared with the frequency analysis. The test results show that the method proposed is very effective parameter even for the signal with high contaminated noise, speed variation and very low energy. The presented method shows the optimal tool for the condition monitoring purpose to detect the various bearing fault with high accuracy.

  • A nonlinear shaping method for a wire antenna is presented to improve the limited pulse radiation ability due to the frequency characteristics with nulls which are found in the conventional straight or V antennas. The developed scheme is based on the minimization of frequency-dependence of the radiated electric field intensity over wide band, hence giving the ripple-type frequency characteristics. It is shown that the synthesized shape has more advantage in the case of shorter pulse. That is, we found that for shorter pulse exciting, the radiated peak value of the synthesized antenna is larger than that of the conventional linear antenna. The inverse discrete Fourier transform based on the moment method is used for the transient analysis of current distribution and far field electric field.

  • The adaptive learning circuit is designed on the basis of modeling of MFSFET (Metal-Ferroelectric-Semiconductor FET) and the numerical results is analyzed. The output frequency of the adaptive learning circuit is inversely proportional to the source-drain resistance of MFSFET and the capacitance of the circuit. The saturated drain current with input pulse number is analogous to the ferroelectric polarization reversal. It indicates that the ferroelectric polarization plays an important role in the drain current control of MFSFET. The output frequency modulation of the adaptive learning circuit is investigated by analyzing the source-drain resistance of MFSFET as functions of input pulse numbers in the adaptive learning circuit and the dimensionality factor of the ferroelectric thin film. From the results, adaptive learning characteristics which means a gradual frequency change of output pulse with the progress of input pulse, are confirmed. Consequently it is shown that our circuit can be used effectively in the neuron synapses of neural networks.

  • The paper presents a long-pulse modulator for klystron using a high-voltage solid-state switch and a droop compensator. The modulator guarantees the safe of klystron by limiting the amount of energy transferred to klystron in case of arc. The high performance of the modulator is also achieved by the fast transition time, high flatness and average power. The proposed prototype has produced pulses with a flat-top voltage -90[kV], pulse width 1ms and pulse frequency 200[Hz]. The validity of the long-pulse modulator for klystron has been verified by the simulation and experimental works.

  • This paper describes the forward type pulse power supply using a Power-MOSFET in the view of commercialization. The principle of basic operating and the operating characteristics of the forward type pulse power supply are estimated by the switching frequency, coupling factor and duty ratio. It is shown that theoretical and experimental results are in good agreement by comparing simulation and experimental results when a lamp type ozonizer can be used as a load. Also, experimental results indicate that the discharge and ozone concentration characteristics of the manufactured pulse power supply is more improved compare to the conventional pulse power supply[5]. This proposed supply show that it can be practically used as a pulse power supply in various environment improvement facilities.

  • Objective Wave reflection is an important factor that determines the shape of the pulse wave. The purpose of this study is to compare the conventional method used for estimating the reflection site of pulse with a cardiovascular simulator. Methods: In this study, cardiovascular simulator with one elastic tube was used. The pressure and flow was measured simultaneously at three different points. The measured data were used to the conventional methods to estimate the pulse wave reflection site. The results were compared with the known length which were the distances from the measured points to the end of tube. Results & Conclusions: There is a significant error with the time domain method. While, the reflection site with the frequency domain method was similar to the actual reflection site.

  • High-capacity high-voltage pulse generator that can be used for environmental clean-up was developed using transformers. High-voltage pulse is consists of the primary wave and the harmonic wave which are increased as a series circuit using transformers to make pulses. Each transformer has a band-pass characteristics. The output voltage of the pulse width 50[%] was decided. The output voltage of high-voltage pulse generator device was measured as 1.4[kV] (Peak-to-Peak).

  • The propagation properties of Gaussian pulse signals on the microstrip line are investigated by the Kirschning & Jansen's approximated equation to meet the frequency range of a pulse, accuracy, and geometrical requiremtns of the microstrip line. The dispersion of pulse signals is analyzed regarding to the relative permittivity .epsilon.$_{r}$, substrate height h and strip width w of the microstrip line. To verify theoretical results, several samples of 50.OMEGA. microstrip lines are fabricated. And the characteristics of pulse propagation along these lines are simple measured using VNA(Vector Network Analyzer) with time-domain analysis function. A fairly good agreement has been found between the measured pulse waveforms and computer simulations.

  • In this paper, discharging part of high voltage pulse power supply of E-beam generating device is simulated and experimented. It is composed of high voltage part and high voltage pulse part. High voltage part is AC 380, DC/DC converter, high voltage high frequency transformer. High voltage pulse part is double pulse forming network and Thyratron. In the result, computer simulation analysis is same to experimental result and high voltage pulse is obtained 10kV, 4A, 10uS.

  • A two-dimensional model for pulse tubes with tapered cross-section was proposed. Net enthalpy flow and steady mass streaming were investigated by two-dimensional analysis of mass, momentum and energy equations of the gas as well as energy conservation of the tube wall. Steady mass flux profiles show good agreement with the previous approximate solution. It was shown that steady mass streaming can be reduced by tapering a pulse tube and by increasing the length of a pulse tube. Effects of the velocity phase angle and frequency on steady mass streaming were shown.
