Among web-based systems being widely used now, there are so many systems which are still using an user-level access control method. By successfully applying role-based access control(RBAC) to web-based application systems, we can expect to have an effective means with reinforced security for Internet-based systems. In order to apply RBAC to web-based application systems, we should come up with a system architecture for it. I proposed a system architecture which is needed to apply RBAC to web-based application systems. The proposed system architecture is largely composed of system composition and system functioning. For details, firstly, a certificate used by RBAC is specified. Secondly, a system architecture using a user-pull method is proposed and overall system components are mentioned with a role server being centered. Then, I showed how the system architecture can work to carry out RBAC on web-based application systems. Lastly, the analyses on the proposed system architecture are described for the purpose of proving its feasibility.
Laboratory information system (LIS) is a key tool to manage laboratory data in clinical pathology. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16 MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with two complete blood count analyzers (Sysmex WE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data transmission from analyzer to computer. The authors suggests that this system based on down-sized computer could provide a progressive approach to total LIS based on local area network, and the implemented system could serve as a model for other hospital's LIS for routine hematology.
Mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites were affected to fiber volume fractions (FVF) and interfacial property by sizing agent conditions. An optimum interface can relieve stress concentration by transferring the mechanical stress from the matrix resin to the reinforcements effectively, and thus can result in the performance of the composites. The interfacial properties and wettability between the epoxy resin and glass fiber (GF) were evaluated for different sizing agent conditions and FVFs. The surface energies of epoxy resin and different sizing agent treated GFs were calculated using dynamic and static contact angle measurements. The work of adhesion, Wa was calculated by using surface energies of epoxy matrix and GFs. The wettability was evaluated via the GF tow capillary test. The interfacial shear strength (IFSS) was evaluated by microdroplet pull-out test. Finally, the optimized GFRP manufacturing conditions could be obtained by using wettability and interfacial property.

Greenhouses have been damaged due to the uplift pressure from strong wind, for which rebar piles are often installed near the greenhouse to resist the pressure. For the effective design of rebar piles, it is necessary to access the shear strength of soil on which the greenhouse is constructed. This study experimentally evaluates the shear strength of the soil beneath the greenhouse. Four soil samples were collected from four agricultural sites, and prepared for testing with 75, 80, 85, and 90% compaction rates. One-dimensional unconfined compression test (UC), consolidated-undrained triaxial test (CU), and resonant column test (RC) were performed for the evaluation of shear strength and shear modulus. Generally, the higher shear strength and modulus were observed with the higher compaction rates. In particular, the UC shear strength increases with the increase of #200 sieve passing rate. Resulting from the CU test, the sample with the most of coarse soil had the highest friction angle, but the variation is small among samples. Resulting from the CU and RC tests, the ratio of maximum shear modulus with the major principle stress at failure was the higher at the finer soil. The ratio was two to three times greater than the ratio from the standard sand. This indicates that the shear strength is lower for the fine soil than the coarse soil at the same shear modulus. The results of this study will be a useful resource for the estimation of the pull-out strength of the rebar pile against the uplift pressure.
In this study, a new manufacturing process for a multilayer-clad electrical contact material is suggested. A thin and dense BCuP-5 (Cu-15Ag-5P filler metal) coating layer is fabricated on a Ag plate using a high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) process. Subsequently, the microstructure and bonding properties of the HVOF BCuP-5 coating layer are evaluated. The thickness of the HVOF BCuP-5 coating layer is determined as 34.8 ㎛, and the surface fluctuation is measured as approximately 3.2 ㎛. The microstructure of the coating layer is composed of Cu, Ag, and Cu-Ag-Cu3P ternary eutectic phases, similar to the initial BCuP-5 powder feedstock. The average hardness of the coating layer is 154.6 HV, which is confirmed to be higher than that of the conventional BCuP-5 alloy. The pull-off strength of the Ag/BCup-5 layer is determined as 21.6 MPa. Thus, the possibility of manufacturing a multilayer-clad electrical contact material using the HVOF process is also discussed.

A Cu-15Ag-5P filler metal (BCuP-5) is fabricated on a Ag substrate using a high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) thermal spray process, followed by post-heat treatment (300℃ for 1 h and 400℃ for 1 h) of the HVOF coating layers to control its microstructure and mechanical properties. Additionally, the microstructure and mechanical properties are evaluated according to the post-heat treatment conditions. The porosity of the heat-treated coating layers are significantly reduced to less than half those of the as-sprayed coating layer, and the pore shape changes to a spherical shape. The constituent phases of the coating layers are Cu, Ag, and Cu-Ag-Cu3P eutectic, which is identical to the initial powder feedstock. A more uniform microstructure is obtained as the heat-treatment temperature increases. The hardness of the coating layer is 154.6 Hv (as-sprayed), 161.2 Hv (300℃ for 1 h), and 167.0 Hv (400℃ for 1 h), which increases with increasing heat-treatment temperature, and is 2.35 times higher than that of the conventional cast alloy. As a result of the pull-out test, loss or separation of the coating layer rarely occurs in the heat-treated coating layer.

This paper focuses on configuring a user-friendly system of LED systems by applying improvement measures such as gamma correction, non-flicker, and driving noise removal using MCUs and LED drivers. As a result of the experiment, the 22kHz PWM mode of the LED driver generated noise outside the audible frequency range, making it practically imperceptible to users. The appropriate pull-up resistor values within the normal operating delay ratio of 5% were found to be 1kΩ to 10kΩ for the 3kHz PWM mode and 1kΩ to 2kΩ for the 22kHz PWM mode. In addition, gamma correction can be optimized for nonlinear human visual systems to express accurate contrast and as a result, it is expected to develop an LED system that can be expressed more naturally and accurately than conventional LED systems and improve users' visual experience.
In order to develop the mechanical fruit harvest system the detachment force, type and torque investigated and analyse as several loading modes were applied on the fruit-stem of the persimmon fruit. A proving ring with strain gauges was used for the experiment. The following conclusions were drawn from the results : The mode of withdrawl of the stem from the calyx appeared highly as the persimmon fruit matured. The mode of failure at the junction of the stem and calyx which was desirable mode for mechanical fruit harvest increased as the angular displacement of the fruit with respect to the stem axis increased from zero to ninety degrees. However the mode of failure of the fruiting branch decreased for the same degree of angle pull as above. The range of detachment force of the persimmon fruit was from 13 to 5 kg. The detachment force decreased from 47 to 8 % as the fruit matured. Also, the force decreased from 31 to 24 % for the same maturity levels as the angular displacement of the fruit with respect to the stem axis increased from zero to ninety degrees. The range of detachment force to weight ratio(F/W) of the fruit was from 130 to 54 approximately. The detachment force to weight ratio (F/W) decreased from 36 to 8 % as the fruit matured. Also, the ratio (F/W) decreased from 49 to 33 % for the same maturity levels as the same degree of angle pull as above. In order to remove fruit from tree the desirable force applied to the stem is approximately from 1,280 to 530 kg. Also, the desirable torque to remove the fruits was approximately from 1.1 to $0.5kg{\cdot}cm$.
A precise understanding of the human form in static pose serves as the basis of designing clothing. When the human body is in motion, however, even an article of clothing designed to fit the human form in static pose can pull and change, thus restricting the body. In order to increase the fit of the clothing, which may be termed the second skin, its form and measurements therefore must be determined in correlation not only with the formal characteristics of the human body, in static pose but also with its functional characteristics in motion, as caused by the movements of the human body. In this study, the motion factor was selected as the primary basis for designing slacks with good fit in both static and moving states. By indentifying the areas in which lower limb movement cause significant changes in body surface lines, we suggest several application methods for designing slacks. Using unmarried female university students aged 18 - 24 as subjects, a total of 32 body surface categories (15 body surface lines and 17 body surface segment lines) were measured in one static and 9 movement poses. In particular, expansion and contraction levels and rates were measured and used in the analysis. The analysis first involved the calculation of the average measurement per body part in body surface line in static pose as well as of the average expansion and contraction levels and rates in 9 lower limb movements. Two-way MANOVA and multiple comparison analysis (Tukey) were conducted on movements and individual somatotypes regarding measurement per body part and expansion and contraction rates. Body parts whose measurements of body surface lines differed significantly in body surface line in static pose versus in movement were then identified. The results of this study are as follows. First, changes in body surface lines caused by lower limb movements were significant in all body surface lines of the lower trunk, both horizontal and vertical, with the exception of abdomen girth, midway thigh girth, ankle girth, hip length, and posterior knee girth. Second, significantly expanded 10 body surface lines in moving pose were detected and illustrated in table 4. These body parts should be studied in designing or pattern designing, especially for close-fitting pants, in using stretch fabric, and in sensory evaluation of good fit during movement.

Background: Recent studies have suggested that expression of the RAS protein activator like-1 gene (RASAL1) is decreased in gastric carcinoma tissues and cell lines, indicated a role in tumorigenesis and development of gastric cancer. Reduced expression of RASAL1 could result in aberrant increase of activity of RAS signaling pathways in cancer cells. However, the exact mechanism which induces down-regulation of the RASAL1 gene remains unclear. This study aimed to determine the methylation status and regulation of RASAL1 in gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: Using the methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP), the methylation status of CpG islands in the RASAL1 promoter in gastric cancers and paired adjacent non-cancerous tissues from 40 patients was assessed and its clinicopathological significance was analyzed. The methylation status of RASAL1 in gastric cancer lines MKN-28, SGC-790l, BGC-823, as well as in normal gastric epithelial cell line GES-l was also determined after treatment with a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor, 5-aza-2'-doexycytidine (5-Aza-CdR). RAS activity (GAS-GTP) was assessed through a pull-down method, while protein levels of ERK1/2, a downstream molecule of RAS signaling pathways, were determined by Western blotting. Results: The frequencies of RASAL1 promoter methylation in gastric cancer and paired adjacent non-cancerous tissues were 70% (28/40) and 30% (12/40) respectively (P<0.05). There were significantly correlations between RASAL1 promoter methylation with tumor differentiation, tumor size, invasive depth and lymph node metastasis in patients with gastric cancer (all P<0.05), but no correlation was found for age or gender. Promoter hypermethylation of the RASAL1 gene was detected in MKN-28, SGC-790l and BGC-823 cancer cells, but not in the normal gastric epithelial cell line GES-1. Elevated expression of the RASAL1 protein, a decreased RAS-GTP and p-ERK1/2 protein were detected in three gastric cancer cell lines after treatment with 5-Aza-CdR. Conclusions: Aberrant hypermethylation of the RASAL1 gene promoter frequently occurs in gastric cancer tissues and cells. In addition, the demethylating agent 5-Aza-CdR can reverse the hypermethylation of RASAL1 gene and up-regulate the expression of RASAL1 significantly in gastric cancer cells in vivo. Our study suggests that RASAL1 promoter methylation may have a certain relationship with the reduced RASAL1 expression in gastric cancer.
