The instruments measuring 9 psychological characteristics-adolescent egocentrism, social and general self-efficacy, public and private self-consciousness, boredom susceptibility, optimal stimulation level, body attitudes-were adapted from previous studies. Clothing behavior measurements were developed based on the pilot study results or adapted from previous studies. The data. collected from 2284 nationwide sample of Korean female adolescents(early, middle, late) was analyzed by frequency, two-way ANOVA, and LISREL confirmatory factor analysis. Clothing behavior were factor analyzed and 6 factors were identified: dressing for others. conformity to peers, clothing interest, self-expression, psychological dependence and clothing exhibition. Effects of age were dominant in 6 out of 9 psychological characteristics and five clothing behavior factors except conformity to peers. Dominant main effect of residence was found oかy in boredom susceptibility. From the results of LISREL, adolescent egocentrism, public self-consciousness and sensation seeking tendency were found to be the most influential psychological characteristics of female adolescents'clothing behaviors.

Results : Tooth scaling experiences were responded by 10,060 subjects(25.6%). Grade and metropolis, economic level had significant associations with using oral clinic experiences. The rate of using oral clinic showed significant difference in point, depending on general characteristics. Their oral health showed significant difference in point between using oral clinic experience and non-experience groups. According to the multiple logistics regression analysis whose significant independent variables were sex, grade, metropolis, economic level, blooding gum, tooth brushing, oral malodor. Conclusions : The policy is needed to prevent economic constraints from worsening oral health by supporting the poor. As for the knowledge score in terms of general characteristics, the patients who were in higher education and living with spouse were significantly higher point than those who were in lower education and living alone. 2. The mean scores of learning need of the subjects was 4.13 measured by Likert 5 point scale, No significant differences were shown in the score of learning need in terms of the general characteristics. As for the learning need according to domain, the subjects had higher leaning needs in the domain of diet, risk factors and activity and exercise. 3. There was no significant correlation between the learning need and the knowledge of myocardial infarction. The results of finding show that education program should be consider the general characteristics. the level of knowledge and learning needs of the myocardial infarction patients.

  • There are big differences in dental education system between South Korea and North Korea. In North Korea, there is no college of dentistry and official license system and thus, dentists can treat a patient right after graduation from medical school. There are also positions such as paradentists capable of providing dental treatments, whereas such positions do not exist in South Korea. In this regards, in order to get ready for the United Korea, we need to establish a system designed to complement the differences in dentistry education and license system between South and North Korea. Such system would help to minimize the social cost in relation to the unification in near future.

  • Based on a nationwide survey of the consumption of oriental medicine by the Korean population, we estimated the potential risk from the inadvertent ingestion of heavy metals such as Pb, Hg, As, and Cd as a result such consumption. Compared to the provisional daily intake limit, heavy metal intake through oriental medicine resulted in hazard quotients of less than one. The upper $90^{th}$ percentile exposure estimates for each metal also showed insignificant risk. In relation to inorganic forms that are known carcinogens the excess cancer risk was less than $1{\times}10^7$. Based on the results of this study exposure to Pb, Hg, As, or Cd through oriental medicine intake appeared to be negligible and would not cause a significant impact on health.

  • If researching popular culture is understanding a mechanism to make us the general public, then researching, design is discovering and developing a mechanism to qualitatively improve the life of the general public's life. Since this means that the relation of popular culture and design is correlated among social, cultural and historical ties, but this study isolated popular culture and design as a separate variable, and examined and analyzed cultural factors such as the constantly changing objective, role, contents and formativeness(Gestaltung) of design through already researched various(6) criteria of the concept of popular culture. Thus, this study strives to present the orientation of design with culture by including cultural thinking starting from the stage of design, design planning.

  • This study uses time series analyses to evaluate fluctuation of water levels in a geothermal water well due to pumping, in relation to rainfall at Dongrae hot-spring site on the southeastern coast of tile Korean peninsula. The volume of water pumped from the public study wells ranges from 542 to 993 m$^3$/month, and the minimum water level ranged from 35 to 144.7 m during the measured period. Autocorrelation analysis was conducted for the withdrawal rate at the public wells, water levels and rainfall. The autocorrelation of the withdrawal rate shows distinct periodicity with 3 months of lag time, the autocorrelation of rainfall shows weak linearity and short memory with 1 months of lag time, and the autocorrelation of water levels shows weak linearity and short memory with 2 months of lag time. The cross-correlation between the pumping volume and the minimum water level shows a maximum value 1 at a delayed time of 34 months. The cross-correlation between rainfall and the minimum water level shows a maximum value of 0.39 at a delayed time of 32 months.

In-depth interviewing was done on 8 subjects health monitor members, owners and occupational nurses, respectively). The major findings were as follows; 1. Visiting health management Useful services were 'health counseling', 'medical examination', 'providing informations about managing diseases', 'agency business in relation to Labour Ministry' and 'giving a recognition about occupational health service to owners'. Insufficiencies were 'lack of treatment service after medical examination' and 'lack of follow up services constantly'. 2. Occupational nursing service Useful services were 'providing health information' and 'counselling about health'. Major contents of occupational nursing services were 'management of occupational and adult diseases' and 'explanation of the results after medical examination'. Insufficiencies were 'deficiency of the place where group health education could be performed', 'lack of additional or closer examinations needed in counselling' and 'discontinuous selection of additional or more exact examinations'. 3. Health monitor members Health monitor members in industries were classified into two. Some were selected by owners and the others were selected simply by considering their administrative abilities such as proficient management of documents. Their major tasks were to connect workers with occupational health management agencies. This study suggests that programs should be developed which enable health monitor members to cooperate with occupational nurses.
