A demand of public using building in rural residential area changes over times. With the changes, the function and the scale of the public using building are also changed, the building is more influences on people in rural area. However, the most of facilities have been focused on the agricultural productions, and thus the facilities of health care, culture, and daylife supporting were not enough comparing to the facilities in urban area. This study surveys the facility and grasps the current status and problem of 37 rural residential area. In addition, three different revitalizing plans of public using building as a current availability and plan for use are suggested. A new community center where is expected that the public usage is increased should be managed intensively regarding an air conditioning, and waterproofing work, while an old community center and the warehouse where are expected that the public usage is decreased, but have locational advantage should be used as a rural life experience facilities and a accommodations with remodeling unless the safety matter A parking lots are considered that the availability is gradually increased and needed for public while it is difficult to get a new available site because of the ownership. Therefore, it is national decision to secure the site by removing the discarded facilities.

Purpose: This study presents the results of the analysis on space utilization of kidney dialysis units in regional public hospitals, which plays a key role in local public medical services. The result aims to achieve safety from infection, allow comfort for the dialysis environment, and stability for medical support. The purpose of this study is to present fundamental data for architectural plans for the kidney dialysis unit, as well as to alleviate potential infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Methods: For research purposes, the investigation and analysis of space utilization were based on architectural floor plans, research papers and literature, related legal systems, and public statistics. Of the main 35 regional public hospitals, in regards to data accessibility, 15 facilities were selected to conduct the survey and analysis for the objective. Results: The space composition by area research results of kidney dialysis units in public hospitals are as follows: Firstly, most targets do not have required rooms in the access and support area, except for the hemodialysis beds in the treatment section. Secondly, the access area requires necessary room and space design that took into consideration of convenience and accessibility for patients. Thirdly, in regards to infection prevention and control, proper circulation and room plan is essential for storage and disposal of contaminated products and linen after use. For the treatment area, the arrangement plan needs to establish a visual connection between the isolation room, the nursing station, and the bed area. Additionally, consideration of circulation in the preparation, treatment, observation, examination, and all other rooms in the facility is required. Lastly, for the support area, the room is designed to consider adequate working and meeting spaces for the medical staff, consultation space for patients or guardians, separate storage and disposal of clean and contaminated items, and the storage of various equipment for dialysis. Implications: In preparation for the increase in chronic kidney failure patients and the spread of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, the researched data demonstrates the basic guidelines for space composition of kidney dialysis units and the significant role of regional public hospitals.
The 'pathways' in the Deteriorated Residential Area is the valuable place which represents the history of the community. The 'pathways' is the physical boundary which connects individual environment of private residential area to public environment and which has value as a medium for the definite site for regeneration of Deteriorated Residential Area. Thus, the 'pathways' is considered as the perfect material for the public design for spatial culture to regenerate the Deteriorated Residential Area. However, the most of the public design projects utilize the 'pathways' fragmentarily, there are few systematic studies based on the attribute of the Deteriorated Residential Area. The purpose of this study is the consideration on the attributes of the 'pathways', the detection of the spatial characteristics to find application of the 'pathways', and the cultivation of the baseline data for further research for the spatial nature of the Deteriorated Residential Area. For this study, theoretical consideration is practiced in advance to analyze the meaning of the 'pathways' and Deteriorated Residential Area, the case research is performed using design elements as the analytic frame, and the approach is inferred for systematic public design based on the above result. The objects of case research were chosen among the latest projects implemented in the Deteriorated Residential Area whose subject was 'pathways' and which showed successful result. The characteristics of them were investigated and the details were examined through the homepages of the projects, the reports related to the projects, research material, and interview with the people involved. And to conclude, 'pathways' represents the composition of contents, the space of movement, the formation of community, the landscape design, and the participatory design in the Deteriorated Residential Area. The 'pathways' also finds the proper secondary cultural material for the spatial characteristics and can create the space for the various movements, stay, and communication using the characteristics of movements. The narrow and closed space should be utilized actively to be altered into beautiful space and the Deteriorated Residential Area should be regenerated into coexistent design where people share their lives through sharing spaces.

This paper uses the Heckman model to evaluate the income difference between the public sector and the private sector based on the CHNS data. The research finds that the difference of the public sector versus the private sector between the west area and the east area is about 10% from 1989 to 2000, the transition of the income difference is smooth, that data has made sharp increase to 32% from 2000 to 2011. Considering the income difference between the west area and the central area, the central area and the east area from 1989 to 1997, the data is about 10~15%, from 2000 to 2011 is rocketing time, the data reaches 20%. This paper is very revealing about the income difference ofthe public sector versus the private sector is increasing year after year, and the economy is developing rapidly but with imbalance among different areas in China. It would provides the reference for adjust the income distribution system in future.

Purpose: To establish guidelines for local public hospitals, the survey was conducted primarily on the current status of local public hospitals, focusing on the zone configuration and the spatial area of the operating department. Methods: 3 Methods have been used in this paper. 1) Analyzing drawings to derive the net floor area of each room. 2) A literature survey about composition of the zone by infection control. 3) Observation survey for user circulation analysis. Results: The operation department consists of the major, secondary, support and connected zones according to the user's actions. The spatial area composition ratio for each zone is major zone: 41.79%, secondary zone: 10.87%, support zone: 23.10%, and connected zone: 24.24%. Implications: This study is a basic research for guideline for the operation department in local public hospitals. In this study, zones configuration of the operation departments are classified in terms of user actions and room functions. In the future, it is required to establish criteria considering infection control and copper connection aspects.
In order to overcome such limits of hotel sales, the role of hotel public section, such as eating and drinking facilities, is very important. Moreover, city hotels increase the value of public section by providing various event for citizens as well as and services for banquet. Since Jeju has urban hotels and resort hotels mixed together, their Plane types and area composition based on the characters of customers using the public section are different from ones of other cities. The purpose of this study is to provide basic material for the qualify improvement of the luxury resort hotels in Jeju. We examine the tendency of the systematic Plane composition of the Public sections which take different types of customers, such as Jeju people and tourists, into consideration, analyzing the plane types and the area composition of the luxury resort hotels in Jeju. The study shows that the public part of hotels always had great impact on hotels sales depending on the compositions of plane and area.
Our society confronts a new social demand to protect the environmental equity of the people, and the green open space that is a representative public property which takes a very important role for the residents in less privileged urbane area in terms of providing amenity without requiring individual expenses additionally. This study aims to identify the current status and problems based on the environmental experiences of the actual residents, excluding the simple physical status, in relation with supplying public property of green open space, and the study put focus on the old downtown area of Jeonju-si which is a test-bed of urbane regeneration planned by the government. Residents in less privileged area evaluate the importance of green environment of park very highly as a factor to enhance their quality of life, but as they do not have well-established environmental infrastructure to back up their needs practically, they face difficulties to use such environment and show low level of satisfaction. In particular, as such characteristics appear remarkably among the least privileged urbane people in the less privileged urbane area, their dependence and expectation upon the environment of green open space is very apparent and, therefore, it is urgently needed to improve their environment for public green park area for the less privileged urbane people.

Started in 1989 as Public Permanent Rental Housing scheme, public rental housing lease policy is increasing target residents and supply in each government by introducing new supply types. However, public housing business entities have difficulties in expanding the supply due to cumulated deficit. The research suggested long-term public rental housing reconstruction business as a method to preserve the cumulated deficit from the previous. Minimum floor area ratio mathematical model was suggested by defining the floor area ratio of reconstruction business as minimum, since housing sales profit after reconstruction could preserve aggregated deficit, and mathematically approached by considering the traits of long-term public rental housing reconstruction. The determinant for minimum floor area ratio mathematical model comprise cumulated deficit of the existing long-term public rental housing, land size of reconstructed sale housing, housing sales price per unit area, and business cost per unit area. Minimum floor area ratio mathematical model is expected to be the milestone for supporting decision making regarding the economic part of old long-term public lease housings' reconstruction scale, and expanding housing supply within urban area.

Purpose: This study was to evaluate the utilization of health care service and to provide supportive data for health care policy making in one urban area in Korea. Method: This study tested the significance of public health service using the database of an university hospital and public health center from Feb. 2000 to Dec. 2004. Data were analyzed by multidimensional analysis and data mining technique and produced the information on the classification of utilization characteristics by main disease and the total cost of use and disease association with the users of the public health center. Results: The Results were as follows: 1) Top 10 diseases in the area accounted for 22.4% of total frequency for the most recent 5 years in university hospital, while 59.0% in public health center. 2) There were significant correlations between university hospital and public health center user's insurance type and place of residence: It showed higher use of public health center for free service beneficiaries residing in Seoul than residents in nearby or local area. The medical insurance types for hospital users were more various than those for public health center users. 3) The use of hospital for patients of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia was tended to concentrate in mostly autumn and winter since August 2000, while the cost of using public health center for those patients has been steadily reduced since July 2000. 4) As a result of cluster analysis, there were classified into three homogeneous groups according to the total cost of using public health service, age, and the frequency of use. 5) The association analysis on patients with chronic disease in public health center produced a detailed information on accompanying diseases related to the incidence rate of disease of high frequency due to aging, information on drug abuse and immune disease. Conclusion: The health care policy for local community should be evaluated continuously. And the policy to build an integrated data warehousing by public health indicator system and to enhance the faithfulness of data is required.

Objectives: The purposes of this study were to investigate the installation rates and status of indoor smoking rooms in public facilities and to determine the level of compliance level with smoke-free policies in accordance with the National Health Promotion Act. Methods: A visiting survey was conducted on 1,206 public facilities in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province area. Researchers selected public facilities such as bars, coffee houses, and internet cafes using convenient sampling. They visited without prior notice, checked the existence of indoor smoking rooms, and recorded their status. Results: Internet cafes (110/116) had the highest installation rate of indoor smoking rooms, followed by bowling clubs (17/19) and billiard rooms (87/100). Depending on the type of business, 50-88% of smoking rooms were not completely enclosed. Coin karaoke rooms showed the least inadequacy in this regard. In addition, out of 512 smoking rooms, in 33% (n = 169) smoking indoors was observed in non-smoking areas. Only 9% of public facilities were in full compliance with the indoor smoke-free regulation. Conclusions: It was found that most of the public facilities with indoor smoking rooms did not comply with the smoke-free policy, and smoking was still observed inside some facilities. Therefore, there is a need for a policy that prohibits indoor smoking rooms completely.
