  • Work stress and health are very important factors related to workers' condition and work safety, Author has conducted a couple of tests to check up three people's pulses before they work during their work for three types of safety guard in construction site. Work type, age, weight, sex experience year, ambient temperature n recorded as variables in this study. These are checked and asked by the author directly, before their pulse check Also, workers' Pulses were measured at height H-0 and H-9.0m to understand psychological the degree of psychological nervousness degree. POLAR protrainer NVTM HRM system(wrist recorder and sensor) was used for the site test. There are three(3) different types of construction safety guard which have been used for, this study. They are usually or frequently used and found in the site. Four different ranges of age groups(20's, 30's 40's, 50's) carpenters are assisted to the test sites with wearing pulse recorder and sensor respectively. All three types of safety guards have the same height 90㎝ even though they are different types. On top of five(5) stories tublar framed scaffolding is fabricated, similar to the one in site, where those safety guards are installed. The older(=more experienced) the workers are the more stable they are. it is shown. Also, It is verified the visually uncomfortable rail type can cause workers to psychologically be unstable.

  • This study analyzed the effect of workers' socio-psychological burden factors on musculoskeletal disorders. A survey was conducted targeting office and field workers in the Seoul metropolitan area. Analysis was performed using the results of 357 surveys out of 400 surveys. The analysis results were derived as follows. First, the socio-psychological burden factor did not show statistically significant results for musculoskeletal disorders. Second, it was found that job stress factors also had a positive effect on musculoskeletal disorders. Third, social psychological burden factors were found to be more positive than office workers than field workers. Fourth, there was a statistically significant correlation between job stress and musculoskeletal disease risk scores. From the above results, job stress factors affect musculoskeletal disease risk factors (work frequency, pain level, and duration) and the increase in musculoskeletal disorders and the number of accidents.

  • There may be several factors influencing the safety performance of railway safety personnel. These include human psychological and physiological states, physical conditions about working environment, and workers' stress and fatigue etc. Some researches indicate that human personality is close connection with human error. This study focuses on the workers' personality which is one of psychological traits of railway safety personnel. Thus, we survey and analyze it for railway safety personnel-locomotive engineers, station employees, and train commanders-in Korean railway company. Through the survey that is designed to investigate eight safety personality factors from the questionnaires composed of seventy eight questions, we study the workers' personality factors related to railway safety according to affiliated offices, operations, age, and working years. Finally, after categorizing survey results into sixty six patterns, we explain an example to show a corresponding worker to the pattern result.

  • This study was conducted to examine the usage effects of an augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) system on the risk perception and psychological changes of drivers. To do so, we conducted an experiment to collect the driver response times for vehicles and pedestrians as their risk perception behavior, and used a driving behavior determinants questionnaire consisting of Problem Evading, Benefits/Sensation Seeking, Anti-Personal Anxiety, Anti-Personal Angry, and Aggression factors for collecting the psychological characteristics of the drivers. Thirty drivers were randomly assigned into an in-vehicle AR-HUD using group and a control group. As a result, the Anti-Personal Anxiety and Anti-Personal Angry factors were negatively correlated with the response time for the control group. In contrast, these results were not shown for the in-vehicle AR-HUD system using group. These results indicate that the in-vehicle AR-HUD system may partially induce a relaxation of tension or stress for drivers with a high level of interpersonal anxiety. Therefore, the in-vehicle AR-HUD system might contribute to not only the visual safety driving behaviors of drivers, but also to their psychological driving safety with specific characteristics.
