The Effects of Perceived Parenting Style and Grit on Nursing Student's Psychological Well-being (간호대학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 그릿이 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between perceived parenting style, grit, and psychological well-being among nursing students and investigate the factors influencing psychological well-being. The subjects of the study consisted of 171 nursing students of J university in C province. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires from September 3 to 21, 2018 and analyzed based on frequencies, t-tests, ANOVAs, Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions; these results were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program. The mean value of psychological well-being was 3.49, showing significant positive correlations with perceived parenting style(r=.324, <.01) and Grit(r=.668, <.01) in nursing students. Grit and perceived parenting style accounted for 48.7% of the total variance in psychological well-being among nursing students (R2=.487, <.001). Overall psychological well-being can be improved by Grit enhancement programs and supportive parenting style.

The relationship between passionate behavior, psychological well-being, and intention to continue exercise of Pilates class participants (필라테스 고객의 열정적 행동과 심리적 행복감 및 운동지속 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological well-being of Pilates class participants and their intention to continue exercising by examining the passion for leisure of Pilates participants who continue to exercise while taking risks during COVID-19 pandemic. The subjects were 285 Pilates participants. For data processing, SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used, and frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis were conducted. In addition, path analysis was SEM and the bootstrapping method was used to examine the mediating effect of psychological well-being in the relationship between the passion for leisure and intention to continue exercising. First, passionate behavior had a positive effect on psychological well-being. Second, passionate behavior had a positive effect on exercise continuity. Third, psychological well-being had a positive effect on exercise continuity. Fourth, psychological well-being played a partial mediating role in the relationship between passionate behavior and exercise continuity.

A Structural Analysis of School-Aged Children's Well-Being and Its Related Variables (학령기 아동의 안녕감과 관련변인들 간의 관계 구조분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships among different variables related to well-being. 748 elementary school students residing in Gumi-City, Pohang-City and Ulsan-City in Korea completed questionnaires about well-being, ego-resilience, self-esteem, basic psychological needs and parent attachment perceived by children. A variance-covariance matrix of this sample was analyzed using AMOS 19.0, and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated via SRMR, RMSEA with a 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follows: First, children's ego-resilience, self-esteem, basic psychological needs and parent attachment were all found to have a significant direct effect on children's well-being. Second, children's self-esteem, basic psychological needs and parent attachment had a direct effect on children's ego-resilience. Third, children's basic psychological needs and parent attachment had a direct effect on children's self-esteem. Fourth, parent attachment had a direct effect on children's basic psychological needs.

The Relationship between Exercise Emotion, Leisure Satisfaction and Psychological Well-being of Participants in Life Sports in the COVID 19 (코로나 19상황에서 생활체육 참여자들의 운동정서, 여가만족, 심리적 웰빙의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic information to help improve the quality of life by identifying the relationship between exercise emotion, leisure satisfaction, and psychological well-being for subjects who are participating in physical sports on a limited condition in a pandemic situation caused by COVID-19. To achieve the purpose of this study, Statistical analysis was performed accordingly, after data were collected through the significance sampling method using the sports emotion, leisure satisfaction, and psychological well-being scales from members who participate in physical sports at a sports facility located in Gyeonggi-do. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that there were no significant differences in exercise emotion, leisure satisfaction, and psychological well-being by the gender of the participants. Second, there was a significant difference in exercise emotion, leisure satisfaction, and psychological well-being by the careers of them. Third, there was a significant positive correlation between exercise emotion, leisure satisfaction, and psychological well-being. Fourth, exercise emotion affected psychological well-being, having a positive effect on leisure satisfaction. Finally, exercise emotion had a positive effect on psychological happiness. In conclusion, the exercise emotion had a positive and close correlation between leisure satisfaction and psychological well-being of the participants in Life Sports.

Family Stress, Work Stress and Psychological Well-being in Employed Men and Women (기혼 취업여성과 남성의 가족 및 직업 스트레스와 심리적 복지)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family stress on work stress and to examine the effects of family and work stress on psychological wellbeing in employed men and women. The analyses of the present study were based on a sample of 263 full-time employed men and 258 full-time employed women aged 30-49 in dual-earner families. There were significant gender differences in marital stress, parenting stress and psychological well-being with women reporting higher levels of stress. However, employed men and women experienced similar levels of work stress. The results from regression analyses showed that stress in the family domain contributed significantly to work stress. Both marital stress and parenting stress were significantly related to higher levels of work stress fro employed men and women. The findings of this study indicated that higher levels of marital stress and work stress were predictive of psychological well-being for men and women in dual-earner couples. Among employed women, marital stress and work stress were more highly related to psychological well-being than among employed men.

The Effects of Personal Psychological Variables, Family Variables, and Job Satisfaction on the Psychological Well-being of Middle-aged Men (중년기 남성의 개인내적 변인, 가족 변인 및 직무만족이 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of personal psychological variables(cognitive flexibility, emotion dysregulation, subjective health condition), family variables(marital satisfaction, father-adolescent communication) and job satisfaction on the psychological well-being of middle-aged men. For this research, questionnaires were administered to 550 middle-aged men residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. Among 352 questionnaires collected, 327 were selected and statistically analyzed by average, standard deviation, frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS Win 21.0. The main results of the study are as follows: First, according to middle-aged men's social-demographic variables, the level of their psychological well-being differed significantly. Second, cognitive flexibility was the most significant predictor of their psychological well-being. In addition, emotion dysregulation, job satisfaction, father-adolescent communication, and subjective health condition were significant predictors. These results suggest that cognitive reconstruction training or problem-solving intervention could be useful for the psychological well-being of middle-aged men.

Study on the Psychological Well-Being of Employed Married Women with Children in Early Childhood - Focused on family and social support system variables - (유아기 자녀를 둔 취업여성의 심리적 복지에 관한 연구 -가족 및 사회지원체제 변인을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting the psychological well-being of married working women in Seoul. For this purpose, survey data form 332 employed married women residing in Seoul are used to evaluate the relative effects of Psychological well-being of married working women. Survey questions included demographic information, housework and child-rearing related variables, work related variables, variables related with social support systems, items on child care services for the preschoolers, and psychological well-being of married working women. The major findings were as follows: 1) The psychological well-being of married working women score is 36.14(mean score is 32). The difference between the psychological well-being of married working women varied this according to socio-demographic variables: educational level, income level, spouse's support, occupation, and job satisfaction. 2) The factors that affected psychological well-bing were amount of household labor by husband, job satisfaction, socio-support systems, and educare service satisfaction. 3) The factor that had the most significant impact on the psychological well-being of married working women is job satisfaction. It is suggested to utilize the Employment Assistant Program to establish friendly working environment for married women.

The Relationship Between the Parenting Stress and Psychological Well-Being of A Mother Having A Child with Autism (자폐성 장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스와 심리적 안녕감 관계 연구)

  • This study aims at exploring an effective way for social welfare in order to promote psychological well-being of a mother having a child with autism. To achieve this purpose, this study examined the related factors of parenting stress, family functioning, social support, and redefinition of family affecting psychological well-being of a mother having a child with austin by way of applying the Double ABCX model. A survey was conducted with a sample of 207 mothers having a child with autism in Daegu. Results from the survey are as follows: First, there were significant impacts of parenting stress on social support, family functioning, the redefinition of family on crisis situation, and psychological well-being. Second, family functioning and social support had no significant effect on mothers' psychological well-being, while the redefinition of family on crisis situation had significant influences on the psychological well-being of mothers having a child with autism. Third, it turned out that family functioning, social support, and the redefinition of family on crisis situation played a mediating role between parenting stress and psychological well-being. Based on these results, this study suggests that family functioning should be strengthened for promoting psychological well-being of mothers having a child with autism. We should construct and provide social supports in multilateral aspects and help mothers having a child with autism positively recognize stressful situations and improve their capacities to overcome them as well.

Mediating Effect of Grit in the Relationship between Basic Psychological Needs and Subjective Well-being: Comparative Study of Korean and Chinese Adolescents (기본심리욕구와 주관적 웰빙 간의 관계에서 투지의 매개효과: 한국과 중국 청소년 비교 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the mediating effect of grit in the relationship between basic psychological needs and subjective well-being among Korean and Chinese adolescents. The study subjects were a total of 300 Korean and Chinese adolescents. As a result of the study, first, the Korean adolescents showed a high level of autonomy in basic psychological needs, while Chinese adolescents showed a high level of competence. Second, there was a significant positive correlation between basic psychological needs and grit as well as subjective well-being. Third, we established that the direct effect of basic psychological needs on subjective well-being was more potent in Korean adolescents than Chinese adolescents. Fourth, the indirect effect of basic psychological needs on subjective well-being through grit was statistically significant. Fifth, the mediating effect of grit was found to be stronger among Chinese youth than Korean youth. Based on these findings, we discussed the importance of grit to improve the subjective well-being of adolescents, and the approaches to improve Korean youth's competence and Chinese youth's autonomy.

Effects of the Spousal Relationship's Factors on the Psychological Well-being of the Elderly (노년기 부부관계 요인이 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the spousal relationships on the psychological well-being of the elderly and to find differences in the spousal relationships and psychological well-being according to demographic factors. For the study, 475 structured questionnaires were collected from the men and women residents with their spouses living in Seoul. The 464 collected data excluding incomplete 11 data were analyzed using factor analysis, reliability analysis, multi-regression, t-test and, ANOVA with SPSS 17.0. The result are as follows. First, intimacy-communication, expression of affection, and leisure-sharing showed a positive effects on the positive psychological well-bing, and intimacy-communication and expression of affection affect negatively on the negative psychological well-being, but not leisure-sharing. Second, There were differences in the spousal relationships and the psychological well-being of the elderly according to the demograpic factors.
