  • Purpose: This study was a grounded theory research aimed at generating a substantive theory that accounts for the explanatory social processes in which immigrant Korean single-mother families were engaged in the United States. Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with 15 immigrant Korean single mothers who were living with children under 18 years of age at the time of the interviews. Data collection guided by theoretical sampling and concurrent constant comparative analysis of the transcribed data was conducted to identify the core social process. Results: The emerged core social process was "living for the children," which represented the driving process by which these women made transition to their new lives as single-mother families. The major task throughout the entire transition was re-creating their families. The women's transition involved practical and psychological transitions. The practical transition involved three stages: assuring family survival, struggling between the father role and the mother role, and stabilizing. The psychological transition involved becoming strong and settling in with a new supportive network. Conclusion: Study results added to the literature by elaborating the women's emphasis on maternal identity and the resilience-provoking nature of the women's transitions.

We used in depth personal interviews to find if there are any change in self-image by psychologically analyzing the features of self-images expressed in the pieces of fashion illustration. The total number of objects were five females students majoring in fashion design in Busan. They were hoping to have a psychology consultation to resolve their concerns about the future, family affairs, appearance, and careers. Collage fashion illustration program was used as a experimental tool to find the psychological features shown in the formats and content of collage fashion illustration. We then figure out how pre and post diagnosis were different from each other in terms of ego-identity and DAP. As a result, the formats in collage fashion illustration are related to the self images such as psychological energy, incompetency, suppression, and tendency of self-centered. Also, the contents of the fashion expression are related to the self-images such as dependency, avoidance, wariness, and self-regard. All of the participants have improved self-regard and active action due to improvements in subjectivity, initiative, and goal orientation. Therefore, they could change from pessimistic self-images to optimistic ones.

After reviewing fun theoretically, the fun of animation could be able to coordinate that fun of animation is consist of perceptive fun, cognitive fun, and psychological fun. Perceptive fun is induced by visual, auditory and other sensory information and it is directly affected the image, sound, and movement. Cognitive fun can be obtained by reasoning and interpretation to mobilize their knowledge with sensuously perceived stimulation and it is directly affected the story. Psychological fun occurs when the audience see the animation. The psychological fun is the psychological emotional state when the audience watches animation by relieving psychological congestion. It consists of fun of unfamiliarity or identification. By suggesting research model and validating it how the perceptive fun, cognitive fun, and psychological fun affects each other, perceptive fun enhances cognitive fun and psychological fun. Although cognitive fun enhances psychological fun, cognitive fun enhances psychological fun twice than perceptive fun. Also when perceptive fun affects psychological fun, cognitive fun shows the indirect effect as a parameter. In conclusion, perceptive fun affects psychological fun directly and be enhanced through cognitive fun. Fun of animation can be experienced when perceptive fun caused by accepting sensory information of animation instantly, cognitive fun caused by interpretation and understanding sensory information of animation, and psychological fun caused by relieving psychological identity through recognition fuses and acts as one. An animation emphasized a certain element is difficult to be loved by the audience. In this reason, an harmonical combination among the elements of story, image, sound and movement are important to combinate harmoniously for a successful animation to make the audiences fun by arising funny emotions.

  • The deviant behaviors on cyberspace in Korea are increased recently because of the unbalanced development between the social ethics and the technological improvement on information and communication technology. To overcome this, educations on information and communication ethics are executed in school. However most of the educations is to deliver the knowledge on the disfunction of informationization and rules of netiquette without the analysis of the psychological characteristics on the cyberspace. Therefore, educations on information and communication ethics, in which the changes of social behaviors and value attitude are essential, is ineffective by making the students as passive and enervated users. In this research, we developed a teaching-learning model for cultivating consciousness of information and communication ethics by the establishment of ego identity on cyberspace and then proved the effectiveness by the experiment in school. Students can raise their abilities on active dealing with the given situation and context according to this teaching-learning model.

  • Color plan that contains corporate color of Seoul apartment has a great influence on city environment, considering high-rise vertical dispersion and extent. Therefore, it is necessary to view color plan from an integrative viewpoint. Exterior color plan characteristic of Seoul brand apartments seen in this research, first, most of dominance colors were in same color similar tone with warm color in bright and warm image, as the psychological function, accessory colors appeared in similar tone of similar color harmonious with the dominance color. Also, accent color was highlighted with its identity through cooperative color. Second, emotional effect diminished size and weight of high-rise apartment. The upper levels showed clear and clean image, middle to lower level showed stability and comfortable image, on the whole, refined and urbane image that aim for natural and modern image. Therefore, apartment color plan requires, first, in respect of dominance color, unity is required proper for urban image by preparing color permission limitation standard. • A posteriori physicalists criticize non-physicalist arguments based on the framework of two-dimensional semantics. Most of them argue for physicalism based on the analogy between scientific identity statements and psychophysical identity statements. This paper argues for another version of aposteriori physicalism, so called physicalism employing 'phenomenal concept strategy' or 'exceptionalist strategy', which appeals to merely the nature of phenomenal concept without recourse to a semantic framework. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy employs the aspect of our recognitional ability of objects in criticizing non-physicalism, leading to the argument that phenomenal concepts are 'exceptional' in applying conceivability-possibility link. I critically examine Stoljar's, Chalmers', Raffman's criticisms against Loar's exceptionalists strategy. Loar's phenomenal concept strategy reflects well our psychological aspects surrounding the acquisition and the possession of 'phenomenal concept'. In several respects, Loar's exceptionalist version of a posteriori physicalism is the best explanation for accounting for both the explanatory gap and the a posteriority of psychophysical identity.
