Method: A questionnaire was distributed to 1,238 subjects living in Seoul, and of them 1,082 answers were analyzed using the SAS 8.2 program. Also logistic regression analysis was conducted based on the stepwise selection method for constructing the predictive factors. Results: The findings of this study are as follows. Individual-related factors were psycho-somatic symptoms, self-esteem, fortune delinquent experience, and sexual-violence delinquent experience. Home-related factors were insincerity, threatening and the assessment of the parent (rearer)-adolescent communication type. • This is a basic study designed to discover the most comfortable thermal environment for Korean residences. The purpose of the research is to observe and measure the summer thermal environment in Korean urban detached single family houses and apartments by utilising proposed evaluation standards and methods. The technique used involves the measurement of environmental elements, such as indoor temperature, relative humidity and radiant temperature both in detached single family houses and apartments. Also, in order to understand the resident's thermal comfort response. ASHRAE' thermal sensation 9th level, indoor temperature 5th level, and thermal discomfort 4th level in the psycho-physical voting scale (1972) was used. In conclusion, among Korean urban residences, detached single family houses provided a more stable thermal environment than apartments, as shown by physical psychological evaluations. The possible reason for such stability in detached single family houses may be the usage of reinforced concrete structures which maintain consistent temperatures.

  • Children from low-income families are vulnerable to variable psychological and emotional stress related to financial issues and dysfunctional families. The subjects were 15 1st to 3rd graders who were low on the Self Esteem Scale (SES). They were attending an after-school center for elementary school students. They participated in three art therapy groups from April to October 2005. Children's depressive symptoms and self-esteem were assessed using the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) and an observational check-list. Results showed that the group art therapy program brought about significant effects on increasing self-esteem of the children and reducing depressive symptoms, showing that group art therapy can facilitate emotional and psycho-social growth of children from low-income families and can be developed in family-based community programs.

  • This research was intended to investigate how risk perception and risk reduction behavior by consumers differ according to different product characteristics of clothing. The responses of 318 female college students living in Seoul and surrounding vicinities were collected and analyzed. Inner wear, blue-jean pants, coat were selected as representing each clothing product characteristics. Frequencies distribution, regression and correlation coefficient were utilized for statistical analysis. Results are as follows. 1. The type of perceived risk and risk reduction behavior differed according to product characteristics of clothing. Physical and performance risk were more highly perceived for the purchase of innerwear. However, for the purchase of jean pants and coat, socio-psycho-logical and economic risk were also perceived highly because the rate of fashion change, social symbolism, and coordination with other clothing items become more important characteristics. To reduce perceived risk, dependency on past purchase experiences and shop-ping were mostly preferred method regardless of product characteristics of clothing. 2. Risk type as determinant variables for predicting overall risk differed according to product characteristics of clothing. But fashionability and usefulness were common determinant risk variables, which identifies typical characteristics of clothing product.

Psycho-acoustical experiments are performed with an objective measure of inter-aural cross-correlation(IACC) in order In predict whether LEV is perceived equally in two kinds of sound fields with horizontal or vertical component of late arriving sound. It is found that LEV is affected by not horizontal component of late arriving sound but also vertical one.
