  • The distribution pattern of Clonorchis sinensis metacercaria in Pseudorasvora parva population and correlation between P. parva and metacercaria of C. sinensis were studied. The surveved areas were Chomanpo and Bulamdong, Kim-Hae Gun which were endemic area of clonorchiasis, and wansa, Sa-Chon Gun, Souh Kyong-Sang Do. The results are as follows: 1) The areas of Chornanpo and Wansa showed high infectivity in 99-100% of infection rate and 282-308 of average infection number per-fish. But the area of Bulamdong showed relatively. low infectivity in 95.8% of infection rate and 44 of average infection number. 2) The distribution patterns of C. sinensis metacercaria in P. parva population which were collected in Chomanpo and Wansa were shown Poisson distribution and the distribution pattern in Bulamdong showed mid-pattern of shifting over from Poisson distribution to Negative binomial distribution. 3) The correlation between P. parva length and average number of C. sinensis metacercaria in the present studied areas represented as direct proportion relationship.

  • The fish fauna of the Buan Dam, Chollabuk-do, Korea which was constructed in 1995 was surveyed in 1994 and 1998. 14 fish species were collected in the Buan Dam and 19 species were recognized in the brackish waters along the lower course of the dam in 1998. It was remarked that the dominant species in the dam has been changed dramatically from Zacco platypus and Z. temmincki to Pseudorasbora parva and Squalidus gracilis majimae within the three years after the dam construction. And also the number of Carassius auratus and Sirulus asotus were gradually increased in the dam. However, lksookimia pumila, the threatened fish species of Korea, was decreased sharply and restricted conspicuously by fragmentation of the habitat. The positive strategies should be considered for the species conservation of lksookimia pumila in the Buan Dam.

  • The dynamics of the fish community in the Lake Hoengseong region, Korea, were investigated from April 2000 to November 2004. During the surveyed period 39 species belonging 10 families were collected, and there were 17 Korean endemic species (43.59%) including Rhodeus pseudosericeus. Dominant species were Acheilognathus lanceolatus (20.10%), Zacco platypus (15.94%), Z. temmincki (6.92%), Carassius cuvieri (6.33%), A. rhombeus (6.18%), Pungtungia herzi (5.13%), and Pseudorasbora parva (4.93), In the comparison community of fish according to ecotype by each studied years, benthic fished are gradually decreasing and pelagic fishes creasing. Also, according to the fish distribution, the fish community of each studied years was divided into 3 groups by UPGMA. Being based on the fish community, similarity analysis results of each artificial lakes and this lake were divided 2 groups by water system, and divided again 3 groups in the same water system. Fish Community of the Lake Hoengseong was similar with that of the Lake Chuncheon and Cheongpyeong of the Bukhan-River.

  • The fish species and groups were investigated at the four streams in Goseong from September 2011 to August 2012. During the survey period, 17 species from Goseong stream, 18 species from Maam stream, 20 species from Guman stream, and 15 species from Baedun stream of fish were collected. Four creek downstreams were classified into 2 groups which were categorized by the effects of seawater. Group A is Guman and Maam streams with no estuary barrage, with the exchange of freshwater and seawater. On the other hand, group B is Goseong and Beadun streams which was blocked by the estuary barrage and submerged weir. The former group was mainly consisted of peripheral freshwater fish species such as Tridentiger brevispinis, Gymnogobius castaneus, Mugli cephalus, and Acanthogobius flavimanus. The latter one was composed of primary freshwater fish species such as Zacco koreanus, Squalidus gracilis majimae, and Pseudorasbora parva. These results suggest that estuary barrage and submerged weir in the stream could change the natural flow of seawater and freshwater, resulting in change of fish species and groups.

  • This study revealed the infection status of p. larva with the metacercariae of M. orientalis in the Sunam stream of the Nakdong River, a well-known focus of Clonorchis sinensis. A total of 60 P larva were divided into :l groups by the size (80~90, 70~79, 60~69 and 50~59 mm) and were digested by pepsin-HCI solution in a $36^{\circ}C$ incubator. The metacercariae of M orientalis were collected and counted under a stereomicroscope. A total of 3,885 metacercariae were found, and average number/fish in each group were 143, 54, 23 and 40. They were $175.3{\times}155.4{\;}{\mu\textrm{m}}$ in average size and had thick cyst wall($13.1{\;}{\mu\textrm{m}}$ in average), By the results, it is proved that the life cycle of M. orientalis is actively maintained in the Sunam stream of the Nakdong River.

  • 1. The authors have collected 40 species of fresh-water fishes at 10 streams located at east side area of Taebaik Mountain Chain, from Songhyon-ri, Hyonnae-myon, Kosung-Kun, Kangwon-do to Chodang cave, Koenduck-myon, Samchok-kun, Kangwon-do from May 25, 1966 to August 30, 1967. 2. Of 40 species 14 are not distributed in the Han River, another 17 are not found in northern part of Wonsan and 11 are not distributed in southern part of Woolchin located at east coast of Korea. 3. Thirty-three species of northern fresh-water fishes, 16 of southern species and 60 of the Han River species were not distributed in the studied area. 4. We consider that the studied area should be included intermediate district of Amur and China subregion. We also believe that the difference of the fish fauna of the studied area and northern part, southern part and the Han River is originated by ecological and geohistorical factors. 5. We consider that Ganthopogon strigatus, Cobitis rotundicaudata, Coreoperca kawamebari, Leucopsarion petersi are distributed in the studied area are remarkable facts. On the other hand, it was quite strange that Gobiogobio, Pseudorasbora parva, Zacco paltypus, Zacco temmincki are not found in the area.
