The carboxylated multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-COOH) and functionalized with isatin derivative (MWCNT-isatin) have been used as efficient adsorbents for the removal of lead (Pb) from aqueous solutions. The influence of variables including pH, concentration of the lead, amount of adsorbents and contact time was investigated by the batch method. The adsorption of the lead ions from aqueous solution by modified MWCNTs was studied kinetically using different kinetic models. The kinetic data were fitted with pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intra-particle diffusion models. The sorption process with MWCNT-COOH and MWCNT-isatin was well described by pseudo-second-order and pseudo-first-order kinetics, respectively which it was agreed well with the experimental data. Also, it involved the particle-diffusion mechanism. The values of regression coefficient of various adsorption isotherm models like Langmuir, Freundlich and Tempkin to obtain the characteristic parameters of each model have been carried out. The Langmuir isotherm was found to best represent the measured sorption data for both adsorbent.

This paper presents an SVD(Singular Value Decomposition)-Pseudo Spectrum method for SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging. The purpose of this work is to improve resolution and target separability of SAR images. This paper proposes SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method whose advantages are noise robustness, reduction of sidelobes and high resolution of spectral estimation. SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method uses Hankel Matrix of signal components and SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) method. In this paper, it is demonstrated that the SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method shows better performance than the matched filtering method and the conventional super-resolution based multiple signal classification (MUSIC) method in SAR image processing. The targets to be separated are modeled, and this modeled data is used to demonstrate the performance of algorithms.

A singular value decomposition (SVD) pseudo-inversion method has been applied to the image reconstruction from projections. This approach is relatively unknown and differs from conventionally used reconstructioll methods such as the Foxier convolution and iterative techniques. In this paper, two SVD pseudo-inversion methods have been discussed for the search of optimum reconstruction and restoration, one using truncated inverse filtering, the other scalar Wiener filtering. These methods partly overcome the ill-conditioned nature of restoration problems by trading off between noise and signal quality. To test the SVD pseudo-inversion method, simulations were performed from projection data obtained from a phantom using truncated inversefiltering. The results are presented together with some limitations particular to the applications of the method to the general class of 3-D image reconstruction and restoration.

In this paper, I use Taiwan Southern Min, a dialect of Mandarin Chinese, as the data to argue that pseudo-cleft construction is derived from cleft construction.
From the BuOH-fraction of the root cortex of Robinia pseudo-acacia, five compounds have been isolated. On the basis of spectral data, these compounds were identified as (-)-vestitol, isoliquilitigenin, adenosine, adenin and 7-0-$\beta$-D -glucopyranosyl-4',8-dimethoxyisoflavone.
In this paper we present a probabilistic method for source separation in the case here each source has a certain temporal structure. We tackle the problem of source separation by maximum pseudo-likelihood estimation, representing the latent function which characterizes the temporal structure of each source by a random process with a Gaussian prior. The resulting pseudo-likelihood of the data is Gaussian, determined by a mixing matrix as well as by the predictive mean and covariance matrix that can easily be computed by Gaussian process (GP) regression. Gradient-based optimization is applied to estimate the demixing matrix through maximizing the log-pseudo-likelihood of the data. umerical experiments confirm the useful behavior of our method, compared to existing source separation methods.
This paper proposed a practical method for building detection and extraction using airborne laser scanning data. The proposed method consists mainly of two processes: low and high level processes. The major distinction from the previous approaches is that we introduce a concept of pseudogrid (or binning) into raw laser scanning data to avoid the loss of information and accuracy due to interpolation as well as to define the adjacency of neighboring laser point data and to speed up the processing time. The approach begins with pseudo-grid generation, noise removal, segmentation, grouping for building detection, linearization and simplification of building boundary , and building extraction in 3D vector format. To achieve the efficient processing, each step changes the domain of input data such as point and pseudo-grid accordingly. The experimental results shows that the proposed method is promising.

This paper describes a split operation for generation of core and cavity plates of an injection mold for a pseudo-solid model of a plastic part. Here, a pseudo-solid model means a sheet model that looks like a solid model. but whose boundary is not closed. When a solid model created in a different CAD system is imported through standard data exchange format, a pseudo-solid model is created in most cases as tolerance or some other problems make sewing operation failed. As most existing mold design system based on solid modeling kernels require a complete part solid model, mold designers have to do time-consuming healing operations to convert a pseudo-solid to solid. The essential capability of mold design system is the split operation for generation of core and cavity plates. Thus. we developed a split operation for pseudo-solid part model to eliminate or reduce healing preprocessing for mold design.

This paper describes the parting and Boolean operations for a pseudo-solid model of a plastic part, and their application to injection mold design. Here, a pseudo-solid model means a sheet model that looks like a solid model, but its boundary is not closed. When a solid model created in a different CAD system is imported through a standard data exchange file format, in most cases, a pseudo-solid model may be created due to tolerance or some other problems. However, most existing mold design systems based on solid modeling kernels require a complete part solid model. Therefore, mold designers have to do time-consuming healing operations to convert a pseudo-solid to solid. To eliminate or reduce the healing pre-process for mold design, in this paper, we proposed the parting and Boolean Operations on pseudo-solid part models. This paper also describes their detailed implementation and a case study.

This paper describes a gateway system based on a MOST network for integrating several different automotive network protocols. For transparent data communication among different protocols regardless of the high-level messages and the data format, Pseudo MOST frame was designed based on MOST frame and this pseudo MOST data frame is used as the data carrier. For automotive application, two types of gateways were developed, one board-type gateway and small-sized module-type gateways. One board-type gateway has ethernet port, video port and audio port. Meanwhile, small-sized module-type gateways are developed for video, audio, bluetooth and Flexray, respectively. Experiments with a network system using several small-sized module gateways verified efficient data communication among different network protocols and confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed gateway system for automotive network integration.
