라빈수상 위해사건 분석을 통한 경호적 대응방안 (A Study on the Protective Countermeasures through the Assassination Accident Analysis of Israeli Premier Yitzhak Rabin)

  • 경호가 효율적이기 위해서는 단순히 눈앞에 보이는 위해를 방어하는 수준에서 벗어나, 위해의 빌미를 제공하는 원인에 대한 관심과 대응책 마련에 많은 노력을 경주해야 한다. 이러한 관점에서 1995년 11월 4일 밤, 중동에서의 평화 정착을 위해 동분서주하던 이스라엘의 라빈 수상이 암살당한 사건은 많은 경호적 교훈을 제공한다. 당시 라빈수상에 대한 암살 위협이 공공연히 자행되고 있었음을 감안하면, 이스라엘의 경호기관인 신베트의 대응은 정말로 무사안일하였다. 경호조직이나 경호관계자는 경호에 유용하고 경호활동을 지원할 수 있는 법과 제도를 정비하여 경호에 유익한 경호환경을 조성하여야 한다. 더불어 우호적인 공중을 확보하여 위기가 발생하였을 경우 대응할 수 있는 선택의 폭을 넓히고, 위기에 대응하는 경호조직의 신뢰도를 확보하여야 한다. 광범위한 정보네트워크를 구성하여 다양한 경호정보를 수집 분석하고, 위협의 평가에 기초한 경호계획을 수립함으로써 효과적이고 효율적인 경호조치로 위해행위를 사전에 예방하여야 한다. 위해기도자는 위해대상자에 대한 철저한 연구와 치밀한 계획 수립으로 위해를 기도한다. 항상 수동적으로 대응할 수밖에 없는 경호로서는 보다 주도면밀하고 체계적인 경호조치로 범행의 성공기회를 최소화하여야 한다. 또한 항상 위기의식을 갖고 우발상황에 대비한 행동지침과 상황에 따른 시나리오가 준비되고, 부서간 역할 분담과 지휘체계가 확립되어 있어야 한다.

탄력적인 아동의 보호요인 연구 - 아동의 성과 지능, 어머니 양육행동 및 사회경제적 지위를 중심으로 - (Stressful Life Experience and Protective Factors of Resilient Children)

  • Gender and intelligence of children, parenting practices and socioeconomic status of parents were studied to investigate whether they functioned as protective factors for resilient children. Total of 556 children of 12 years of age were contacted for the study. Teachers were asked to rate the children's interpersonal competence. Children reported their experience of stressful life events on a checklist. Based on the competence scores and the experience of stressful life events, 107 children were classified into adaptive, resilient, and maladaptive group. IQ scores were assessed using an intelligence test for the 107 children. Mothers reported their parenting practices and their socioeconomic status through a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, chi-squares, t-tests, and one-way ANOVAs were performed to analyze the data. There was no difference in their experience of stressful life events between boys and girls. Girls were rated as being more competent by their teachers. There were more girls in the adaptive and the resilient group and more boys in the maladaptive group. Children in adaptive and the resilient group had higher intelligence scores than the maladaptive group. Mothers of resilient children replied as being warm and acceptive and more refusing and controlling than mothers of the adaptive children Group differences in socioeconomic status of the family were not found. Thus, being a girl and having higher IQ scores were the protective factors for the resilient children.

  • Recently, great efforts are concentrated on the autonomous, adaptive protection schemes with advanced artificial intelligence and digital technology. It is highly required for a next generation protective system not only to detect and to clear a fault, but also to fit itself to the changing environment. In this paper it is suggested an evaluation method for the protection ability of a protective system in a distributed system. The suggested method is of bottom-up scheme, in other words, protection ability is estimated from the lowest level of parameters in each protective devices to the highest level of the whole protective system. This feature makes it possible to evaluate the protection ability either for the protective device(or a system), or for a protected system. And, in addition, it is enabled that the protectability concept can be applied in the design stage of a protective system for a distribution network. The proposed method is applied to a simple distributed network to show its effectiveness.

유아의 다중지능과 관련된 생물생태학적 변인 연구 - 유아의 기질 및 어머니의 양육태도, 조화적합성을 중심으로 - (The Bioecological Variables Affecting Children's Multiple Intelligences - With a Focus on Child's Temperament, Mother's Parenting Style and Goodness of Fit -)

  • This study investigates how bioecological variables affect the child's multiple intelligence through independent and interactional ways. The subjects of this study were 147 pairs of 5-year-old children and their mothers, and the Project Spectrum was employed to measure multiple intelligences. Each mothers was asked to answer a questionnaire on her child's temperament, her maternal parenting style, 'goodness of fit' and 'the fit of child's intelligence'. Data were analyzed using a factor analysis and a hierarchical multiple regression with SPSS WIN 15.0. The main findings were as followings; First, 'the goodness of fit' to the child's temperament moderated the effect of a maternal parenting style that would foster child's dependency on the mathematical intelligence through interaction. 'The fit of child's intelligence' also moderated the effect of maternal positive parenting style to the child's mathematical intelligence. Second, in language intelligence, girls were more verbally intelligent than boys. In that regard, because the sex variable entails a combination of both inherent attribute and social-cultural effects, that result can be interpreted as an interaction between the individual and the environment. Lastly, a maternal parenting style that would foster child's dependency moderated the effect of the child's regular temperament on interpersonal intelligence. This means that the child's regular temperament can be a protective factor for the negative effect of a maternal parenting style that would foster child's dependency This study suggests that interactional factors such as 'goodness of fit' should be considered in studies involving children.

A study on Detecting the Safety helmet wearing using YOLOv5-S model and transfer learning

  • Occupational safety accidents are caused by various factors, and it is difficult to predict when and why they occur, and it is directly related to the lives of workers, so the interest in safety accidents is increasing every year. Therefore, in order to reduce safety accidents at industrial fields, workers are required to wear personal protective equipment. In this paper, we proposes a method to automatically check whether workers are wearing safety helmets among the protective equipment in the industrial field. It detects whether or not the helmet is worn using YOLOv5, a computer vision-based deep learning object detection algorithm. We transfer learning the s model among Yolov5 models with different learning rates and epochs, evaluate the performance, and select the optimal model. The selected model showed a performance of 0.959 mAP.

감각통합에 기초한 임상 관찰 평가의 AI 측정 기술 적용 필요성을 위한 국내 작업치료사 인식 조사 (Domestic Occupational Therapist Awareness Survey for the Need to Apply Artificial Intelligence Measurement Technology for Clinical Observation Evaluation Based on Sensory Integration)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 국내 감각통합치료의 임상 관찰 평가 사용실태와 세부 항목별 결과 측정의 어려움 및 중요도를 알아보고 이를 통해 임상 관찰 측정에 있어 AI 측정 기술의 적용 유용성과 세부 항목별 적용 필요도를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 방법 : 연구 과정은 국내 작업치료사 31명에서 온라인 설문지 배포를 통해 조사 연구를 실시하였다. 설문지는 일반적 정보, 감각통합 평가 도구 사용 실태, 임상 관찰의 세부 항목별 측정의 어려움, AI 측정 기술의 유용성, 세부 항목별 평가의 중요성 및 AI 측정 기술 개발의 필요성을 조사하는 내용으로 구성되었다. 조사의 결과를 빈도분석과 기술통계를 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과 : 조사에 참여한 작업치료사들은 Sensory Profile(96.8%)을 가장 많이 사용하였고 그다음으로 임상 관찰(90.3%)을 많이 사용하였다. 임상 관찰 시 측정이 어려운 세부 항목은 Finger-to-nose Test와 Postural Control(on the 이었으며, 다음으로 Eye Movement와 Protective Extension Test(67.7%)였다. 임상 관찰 시 AI 측정 기술 적용은 83.9%의 연구 대상자들이 모두 유용할 것으로 응답하였다. AI 측정 기술 적용이 필요하다고 응답한 가장 높은 항목은 Postural Control(on the ball)(90.3%)이었고, 다음으로 Eye Movement(83.9%), Prone Extension과 Protective Extension Test(77.4%) 순으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구의 결과는 국내 아동 작업치료 현장에서 임상 관찰이 중요한 평가도구이며 임상 관찰 평가의 측정 정확성을 향상하기 위해서 AI 기술 적용이 필요하다는 작업치료사들의 인식을 확인할 수 있었다.

Matrix Metalloproteinase-8 Inhibitor Ameliorates Inflammatory Responses and Behavioral Deficits in LRRK2 G2019S Parkinson's Disease Model Mice

  • Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that involves the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN). Matrix metalloproteinases-8 (MMP-8), neutrophil collagenase, is a functional player in the progressive pathology of various inflammatory disorders. In this study, we administered an MMP-8 inhibitor (MMP-8i) in Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) G2019S transgenic mice, to determine the effects of MMP-8i on PD pathology. We observed a significant increase of ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 (Iba1)-positive activated microglia in the striatum of LRRK2 G2019S mice compared to normal control mice, indicating enhanced neuro-inflammatory responses. The increased number of Iba1-positive activated microglia in LRRK2 G2019S PD mice was down-regulated by systemic administration of MMP-8i. Interestingly, this LRRK2 G2019S PD mice showed significantly reduced size of cell body area of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) positive neurons in SN region and MMP-8i significantly recovered cellular atrophy shown in PD model indicating distinct neuro-protective effects of MMP-8i. Furthermore, MMP-8i administration markedly improved behavioral abnormalities of motor balancing coordination in rota-rod test in LRRK2 G2019S mice. These data suggest that MMP-8i attenuates the pathological symptoms of PD through anti-inflammatory processes.

  • This paper proposes a new protective relaying algorithm using ACI(Advanced Computational Intelligence) and wavelet transform. To organize the advanced neuro-fuzzy algorithm, it is important to select target data reflecting various transformer transient states. These data are made of changing-rates of D1 coefficient and RSM value within half cycle after fault occurrence. Subsequently, the advanced neuro-fuzzy algorithm is obtained by converging the target data. As a result of applying the advanced neuro-fuzzy algorithm, discrimination between internal fault and inrush is correctly distinguished within half cycle after fault occurrence. Accordingly, it is evaluated that the proposed algorithm can effectively protect a transformer by correcting discrimination between winding fault and inrushing state.

  • This study examined the effects of a practical problem based home economics instruction using multiple intelligences teaching and learning methods for the prevention school violence by high school students'. The contents of this study are as follow. 1) Develop the practical problem-based instruction using multiple intelligence and teaching and learning strategies for each protective factor both in teaching method aspects and learning content aspects during the 29-period of lesson plans. 2) Examine the effects of the instruction in the changes of pre- and post- impulsivity and aggression, self-esteem, empathy and attitudes to school violence after implementing home economics lesson plans. 3) Evaluate the instruction. The subjects of this study were 288 first grade students (124 male and 164 female students). The study utilizes a quasi-experimental pre-post design. The effect of the instruction by the paired t-test results showed that the aggression and impulsivity by the learners had been lowered; however, empathy and self-esteem increased; in addition, learners' attitudes toward school violence had changed positively. In conclusion, self-esteem in school as sub-variables of self-esteem increased; however, there was no statistically significant difference.

  • As advances in artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly approach areas once relegated to the realm of science fiction, there is growing public interest in using these technologies for practical everyday tasks in both the home and the workplace. This paper explores the applications of and implications for of using ChatGPT, a conversational AI model based on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0, in the field of occupational health and safety. After gaining over one million users within five days of its launch, ChatGPT has shown promise in addressing issues ranging from emergency response to chemical exposure to recommending personal protective equipment. However, despite its potential usefulness, the integration of AI into scientific work and professional settings raises several concerns. These concerns include the ethical dimensions of recognizing AI as a co-author in academic publications, the limitations and biases inherent in the data used to train these models, legal responsibilities in professional contexts, and potential shifts in employment following technological advances. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of these issues and to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the responsible use of AI in occupational health and safety.
