The Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KORAD) has developed a concrete cask for the dry storage of spent nuclear fuel that has been generated by domestic light-water reactors. During long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel in concrete casks kept in dry conditions, the integrity of the concrete cask and spent nuclear fuel must be maintained. In addition, the radiation dose rate must not exceed the storage facility's design standards. A suitable shielding design for radiation protection must be in place for the dry storage facilities of spent nuclear fuel under normal and accident conditions. Evaluation results show that the appropriate distance to the annual dose rate of 0.25 mSv for ordinary citizens is approximately 230 m. For a $2{\times}10$ arrangement within storage facilities, rollover accidents are assumed to have occurred while transferring one additional storage cask, with the bottom of the cask facing the controlled area boundary. The dose rates of 12.81 and 1.28 mSv were calculated at 100 m and 230 m from the outermost cask in the $2{\times}10$ arrangement. Therefore, a spent nuclear fuel concrete cask and storage facilities maintain radiological safety if the distance to the appropriately assessed controlled area boundary is ensured. In the future, the results of this study will be useful for the design and operation of nuclear power plant on-site storage or intermediate storage facilities based on the spent fuel management strategy.
BACKGROUND: A preliminary investigation of the radon ($^{222}Rn$) concentration has been conducted, employing solid-state nuclear-track detectors (SSNTD) and a continuous radon monitor (CRM), for fourteen randomly selected agricultural greenhouses in Jeju Island, where the underground-air was used for air conditioning and $CO_2$ supplement. METHODS AND RESULTS: The SSNTD was used to measure the average radon concentration for three months and the CRM was used for an instantaneous measurement. In order to obtain the radon concentration of a greenhouse, the SSNTDs were placed at a number of evenly distributed points inside the greenhouse and the mean of the measured values was taken. In addition, in order to assess the radon concentration of the underground-air itself, measurement was also made at the borehole of the underground-air in each agricultural facility, employing both the SSNTD and CRM. It is found that the radon concentration of the greenhouses ranges higher than those not using the underground-air and the average of Korean dwellings. While the radon concentration of most agricultural facilities is still lower than the reference level (1,000 Bq/$m^3$) recommended by the International Radiation Protection Committee (ICRP), three facilities at one site show higher concentrations than the reference level. The three-month-averaged radon concentration and the instantaneous radon concentration of the underground-air itself ranges 1,228- 5,259 and 3,322-17,900 Bq/$m^3$, respectively, and regional variation is more significant. CONCLUSION: From this results, radon concentration of the underground-air is assumed that it is associated with the geological characteristics and the boring depth of the region located of their.

Emergencies and disasters can happen any time without any warning, and things can change and escalate very quickly, and often it is swift and decisive actions that make all the difference. It is a responsibility of the building facility management to ensure that a proven evacuation plan in place to cover various worst scenario to handled automatically inside the facility. To mapping out optimal safe escape routes is a straightforward undertaking, but does not necessarily guarantee residents the highest level of protection. The emergency evacuation navigation approach is a state-of-the-art that designed to evacuate human livings during an emergencies based on real-time decisions using live sensory data with pre-defined optimum path finding algorithm. The poor decision on causalities and guidance may apparently end the evacuation process and cannot then be remedied. This paper propose a cloud connected emergency evacuation system model to react dynamically to changes in the environment in emergency for safest emergency evacuation using IoT based emergency exit sign system. In the previous researches shows that the performance of optimal routing algorithms for evacuation purposes are more sensitive to the initial distribution of evacuees, the occupancy levels, and the type and level of emergency situations. The heuristic-based evacuees routing algorithms have a problem with the choice of certain parameters which causes evacuation process in real-time. Therefore, this paper proposes an evacuee routing algorithm that optimizes evacuation by making using high computational power of cloud servers. The proposed algorithm is evaluated via a cloud-based simulator with different "simulated casualties" are then re-routed using a Dijkstra's algorithm to obtain new safe emergency evacuation paths against guiding evacuees with a predetermined routing algorithm for them to emergency exits. The performance of proposed approach can be iterated as long as corrective action is still possible and give safe evacuation paths and dynamically configure the emergency exit signs to react for real-time instantaneous safe evacuation guidance.
The background of the research is the following. With the prosperity of drone industry, the government has been actively promoting measures to nominate 'drone photographing free areas'. However, existing laws, and procedures are rather unclear with related environmental factors in discordance with one another. Hence, voices in need for establishing a clear precondition for nominating drone photography free area have been rising. The purpose of the research is to provide measures for the preconditions to establish photography free areas for convenient drone photographing. The research utilizes literary methods, conducting focus group interviews to coordinate with specialists who can participate and discuss so that they can provide improvement measures. The research renders improvement measures in different sectors including 2x items in aviation security law, 8x items in free area nomination and procedure, 4x items in infrastructure establishment and information management area. The expected effects are the following: by attaching drone photography with aviation security law, nominating photography free area can be linked up with the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Technology. Secondly, by enlarging photography restricted area to upper mid-air, a three dimensional drone security will be possible. Thirdly, by providing a 'Yongin area standard model', free area nomination will become more easy. Future research will focus on enhancing aviation security law regarding drone photographing. In addition, the promotion to nominate free areas for 33x responsible areas in accordance with the National Intelligence service will be required.
Inter-port competition is fiercer than in the past because of technological evolution in transport systems : the increasing side of containerships implies only a few calls in three or four ports at each end of the trade and the rest of the traffic being served by smaller feederships. It is therefore essential for big ports to be selected as one of these calls by the main shipowners, consortia and alliances to avoid rmarginalisation. In order to compete effectively, many ports have been obliged to modernise and extend considerably its existing ports or to build new port facilities. With the advent of major environmental legislation around the world, however, amenities such as fish and wildlife, clean air and water, access to the waterfront, and view protection took on greater importance. Ports are now being forced to incorporate environmental considerations into their planning and management functions in order to avoid additional costs or timing delays. The aim of this paper is to analyse the port value by which port comparison(or selection) will be made with HFP(Hierarchical Fuzzy Process) method. This was done by extracting and grouping the evaluation factors of port value by port experts : facility and location factor, logistics service factor environment and amenity factor, city and economic factor, and human and system factor. For empirical test of this method, 6 major ports in Northeast Asia were chosen and analysed. The order of importance for five evaluation factors were 1) facility and location factor 2) logistics service factor 3) human and system factor, 4) city and economic factor, and 5) environment and amenity factor. This means that geographical location and logistics services are still being considered as the most important factor to call the port by port users. even though environment and amenity factor shows relatively low figure. Among 6 major ports, Port of Kobe was ranked the first position in a comprehensive evaluation, while Ports of Busan and Kwangyang were 4th and 5th respectively. This implies that Port of Busan should make much efforts to enhance the existing facilities as well as management system.

The purpose of this study is to develop evaluation indexes for improving the quality of long-term care institutions (facility salary) evaluation in the sense that the applicability and effectiveness of previous studies related to the development of evaluation indexes for long-term care facilities for elderly are insufficient. There was this. To this end, an analytical review of the 2018 long-term care institution (accommodation benefit) evaluation index, an analysis of Japan's elderly long-term care home evaluation index, and the elderly long-term care facility workers in Korea and the special care home for the elderly in Japan FGI on evaluation indicators and evaluation system was conducted. Based on the results of the research, evaluation indicators were developed in terms of supporting users to receive high quality services. The characteristics of the elderly, that is, the characteristics of elderly diseases that are difficult to maintain and improve, the direction and transparency of institutional operation, and the need for terminal care were reflected. Forty-three evaluation indicators were presented, covering institutional operations, environment and safety, beneficiary rights protection, payroll process, and payroll results. In addition, we proposed a four-step multi-level evaluation system that can improve the efficiency of the evaluation process by improving the redundant and unnecessary evaluation process.
The purpose of this study is to identify the problems and present the improvement measures by assessing the suitability of planning of provincial natural parks on a legal basis. We assessed the suitability of 29 provincial parks to examine the suitability of park planning (special-purpose district planning and facilities planning) according to the Natural Park Act, implementation of the park projects, and registration of Korea Real estate Administration intelligence System (KRAS) for park management and obtained the following results. In the case of the park nature conservation districts among the special-purpose districts, 24.1 % (7 parks) were not feasible or decided the park facility that was larger than the planned area. The amended law requires the park cultural heritage district as a new special-purpose district, but 41.2% did not designate the district or failed to comply with the standard. Moreover, there was a problem of establishing or announcing the plan that was unsuitable for the management of park village district (former collective facilities district). Although provincial parks are categorized as the restricted area, the park facility plans still focus on regional development and tourism development, and the titles (names) of the park facilities are wrong. The law requires digitalization and disclosure of park plans, but many parks fail to abide by the law. We judge that it is necessary to develop effective provincial park planning and establish the measures to protect and manage the provincial parks.

In this study, behaviors of fire smoke in the operation of disaster prevention facilities (smoke damper, jet fan) in a tunnel-type structure (soundproof tunnel) were investigated numerically and results of the investigation were compared and analyzed. Through the simulation and analysis, it was found that there was a significant change in the patterns of fire smoke between the opening of the ceiling of a fire vehicle and the closing, and it was shown that the critical temperatures of PC and PMMA, main materials of a soundproof tunnel were not exceeded. In addition, the simulation of installation intervals of smoke dampers showed that the maximum temperature of a soundproof tunnel without smoke dampers was $552^{\circ}C$ while it reached $405^{\circ}C$ when smoke dampers were installed at the installation interval of 50 m. The simulation of the operation of a jet fan showed that the maximum temperature of a soundproof tunnel without a jet fan was $549^{\circ}C$ while it reached only $86^{\circ}C$ when a jet fan was operating. Therefore, it is highly expected that they could create a favorable environment for evacuation and protection of soundproofing materials, and it would be necessary to promote basic studies on tunnels serving various functions and purposes.

This study has focused on analysis factors affecting safety monitoring system at tailings sites, and the evaluation equipment to monitor the factors. Twenty sites at eighteen mines with unsafe conditions were selected to examine the equipment. There were three main factors influenced safety in the sites including surface erosion, piping, and slope instability. In detail, the surface erosion was divided into three sub-factors (planting, soil-topping layer, and tailings), piping into three sub-factors (liner, rain protection facility and leachate), and slop instability was also divided into three sub-factors (slop, concrete wall, and reinforcing wall). As results of in-field measurement, a CCTV was the most effective facility, and electrical resistivity survey, acoustic sensing, thermal liner sensor, structure inclinometer, rainfall meter, and flowmeter were also highly effective. According to applications of the facilities in the unstable tailings, structural defects were mainly found in the piping, which was the most important monitoring factor for safety management of tailings sites.

Recently, there has been an increase of the use of ground system for lightning protection called deeply driven grounding electrode. In the case of deeply driven grounding electrode, the rod electrode is equipped perpendicularly and deeply, therefore, it has a benefit to have less restriction of place compared to mesh grid electrode. However, ground impedance is largely changed by the local earth resistivity, so it requires a detailed analysis of the ground structure when planning. The measurement of earth resistivity by existing Wenner's method has been widely used, however, this method can not find out a change in the local ground resistance and it shows the result outwardly to be difficult to estimate exact depth. Therefore, this study analyzed the ground structure as 2-D image using 96 channels measurement facility and tried to analyze change in the local ground resistance and depth of the ground in order to design a deeply driven electrode effectively for lightning protection. It used Wenner alpha method dipole-dipole method and Schlumberger method for 2-D image analysis of the ground resistivity ma based on, it the result was compared with the ground structure analyzed with the result using the CDEGS and Wenner 1-D method.
