Layered silicate clay montmorillonite (MMT) has been used in nanocomposite coating to improve corrosion protection by reinforcing the barrier property. The better dispersion of MMT in the coating produces a higher barrier effect. Pretreatment with MMT could favor the delamination of clay platelets, facilitating MMT dispersion in the coating. In the present work, a montmorillonite/silica (MMT/Si) composite was prepared by the in situ sol-gel method. x-ray diffraction measurements and field-emission scanning electron microscopy observations showed silica crystal formation and increased basal spacing between the MMT platelets. Composite MMT/Si particles were introduced in an epoxy resin to reinforce the corrosion protection of the coating applied on the AA2024 surface. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was performed to characterize the protective property of the coating. The results demonstrated the high barrier effect of the coating containing 5 wt% of MMT/Si. Adhesion evaluation after a salt spray test exhibited a high adherence to the epoxy coating containing MMT/Si.
An analytic method for quantitative comparisions between the alternatives for radiation protection optimization is required to aid the decision making process. This paper introduces the dynamic Markov model to evaluate the effect of inservice inspection, testing, and repair activities of the plant on radiation protection. In the example to put the Markov model into practice, the steam generator inspection intervals which minimize expected cost and total exposure dose were determined using the data for Kori-2 unit and foreign plants. The results show that the effect of the radiation exposure on the steam generator inspection interval is determined by the cost rather than the radiation exposure. The Markov model used in the example can be applied easily to the domestic NPPs by replenishing the data and also can be used in evaluating the comparative priority between various alternatives for radiation protection optimization.

Since substations are structurally complex due to the concentration of protection coordination facilities with substation facilities for long distance power transmission, it is difficult to design a protection coordination system to minimize the spreading effect of the fault when a fault occurs on transmission line or distribution line. Therefore, in this paper, the bus configuration and the basic logic of protection coordination that have a major influence on the reliability of substation power supply were analyzed, and the substation protection coordination logic to detect internal and external faults was developed based on EMTP-RV. As the basic logic of substation protection coordination, the percent differential protection relay logic for substation internal fault detection and the overload protection relay logic for inference of external failure were modeled. Finally, the 154kV substation including the protection coordination logic was modeled using EMTP-RV, and the effectiveness of the protection coordination design methodology was confirmed through the several fault simulation cases based on EMTP-RV.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of entrepreneurship experience and education on entrepreneurship intention, and to test the moderating effect of gender on these relationships. To test the hypothesis, we used GETR(Global Entrepreneurship Trend Report) data that was collected by Korea Entrepreneurship Foundation and was consisted of 40,388 data collected from 2,000 people in 20 countries. First, entrepreneurship experience and entrepreneurship education have significant influence on entrepreneurship intention. Second, gender moderating effects on these relationships were found to have a significant effect on the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship intention. Specifically, the positive effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention was found to be stronger for women than for men. Finally, the analysis of the three-way interaction effect of the social protection confirmed that the positive relationship between entrepreneurial experience and entrepreneurial intention was stronger for women than for men, and this effect was found to be higher in the high social protection group. In other words, women with entrepreneurial experience are more likely to increase their entrepreneurial intentions when they are more aware of social protection than men.
A number of chemical compounds that modify radiation effects are reviewed, with brief report of our own experiments on radioprotective effect of some vasoconstrictive agents and 5-Thio-D-Glucose. Sulfhydryl compounds(-SH group) and some pharmacologic compounds such as CNS depresants, vasoconstrictive agents and autonomic drugs are known to have radioprotective effect in experimental research and in limitted clinical study, whereas oxygen, hallogenated pyrimidines and metronidazole, etc. have radiosensitizing effect. Author experimentally observed some radioprotective effects of angiotensin II, a strong vasoconstrictor, and 5-Thio-D-glucose in mice.

This study is about the UV protection effect and water resistance of a multiple emulsion (W/O/W) sunblock cream applied with emotional engineering and reports an actual industrial case. Multiple emulsion system of sunblock cream has the characteristics of changing to a W/O type that is soft and moist when applied, and has excellent water resistance after absorption. Multiple emulsion cream is a highly functional sunblock cream that has both moisture and water resistance. It is a stable milky white cream with a viscosity of 36,000 cps. The organic sunscreen used for the sunscreen was ethylhexylmethoxycinnamate and bisethylhexyloxyphenolmethoxyphenyltriazine. Hexagonal zinc oxide and titanium dioxide that block both UVB and UVA were used. As a result of measuring the UV protection effect by the in-vitro method, the UV protection effect (SPF) is 78.9 for multiple emulsion cream, 76.7 for W/O cream, and 71.3 for O/W cream. It was found that the blocking effect was different. This obtained the highest effect value in the multiple emulsion. As a clinical (in-vivo) result of the UV protection effect, the SPF value representing the UV protection effect of the sunblock cream developed with a multiple emulsion system was 85.7, and the PA-value that blocks the UVA area was 26.5, and ++++. It was found that it has a corresponding high blocking effect. As a result of the water resistance test, the W/O/W formulation had a high waterproofing resistance of 93.8% even after 4 hours, W/O had 75.4%, and O/W had a low water resistance of 25.3%. In the results of the HUT test, it was found in the order of multiple emulsion sun block cream > hydrophilic cream > lipophilic cream. Based on the research results of this multiple emulsion, it is expected to be highly active as a sunblock cream dedicated to outdoor activities by improving the feeling of use, UV protection index, and water resistance. Therefore, in this study, a multiple emulsion system of sunblock cream is developed and has a characteristic that changes to a W/O type that has a soft and moist feeling when applied, and has excellent water resistance after absorption.

Up to now, sea sand without complete removal of salt is being used in the construction works because there is little satisfactory counterplan for the substitute aggregate. In the case that such sea sand is used in the reinforced concrete, the residual salt gives rise to deterioration phenmenon and iron corrosion, reducing durability of the ferro-concrete structures. The paper, an experimental study on the effect of corrosion protection by tighting concrete used SF and FA, is to investigate general steel bar's corrosion and to develop concrete using sea sand economically after it is analyzed and examinated ratio of the corrosion area affected by the autoclave cycle. As a test results, as for corrosion area ratio, it is very effective to use admixrutes such as SF and FA which decrease corrosion area remarkably with increasing the amounts of admixtures. Accordingly the use of admixtures is advantageous for tightening concrete and has an effect of salt damage prevention and rust protection in concrete used sea sand.
In order to find out the Radioprotective effect of algin-oligosaccharide(AOS), this study, with a mouse of which whole frame irradiated by 3 Gy radiation once, measured caspase-3 and caspase-9 amid cell signaling connected to apoptosis in order to observe cell activation. In Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 test for observing cell activation, both of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 showed highly increased O.D. value in the irradiation control group, while the whole groups treated with algin-oligosaccharide before or after irradiation indicated lower O.D. value than the irradiation control group, especially showed big difference in 7 day's treatment group of before irradiation (P<0.001). It confirmed that Caspase generation was restrained in AOS treatment group. Consequently, this study inquired into the fact that algin-oligosaccharide with superior antioxidant activity performed radiation protection by inducing restraint of Caspase generation and confirmed that natural product with less chemical toxicity was able to be applied as radioprotector.
The action mechanism of the inhibitory effect of some natural products on the DNA strand break and DNA damage was investigated in vitro and in vivo. In the E. coli chromosomal DNA strand break experiment in vitro, three mushroom water extracts were effective on the DNA strand breaking by daunorubicin. Phellinus linteus water extract inactivated daunorubicin, a DNA strand breaking agent, but did not protect DNA from daunorubicin-induced DNA strand breaking. Agaricus blazei water extract inhibited DNA strand breaking action of daunorubicin not only by daunorubicin inactivation, but also by DNA protection from daunorubicin. An inhibitory effect of Ganoderma lucidum water extract on the DNA strand break was based on the DNA protection rather than daunorubicin inactivation. In vivo mutagen assay system (SOS-chromotest), among three mushroom water extracts Phellinus linteus water extract was the most effective one on the inhibition of DNA damage by 4-NQO. The results suggest that all three mushroom water extracts inhibit daunorubicin-induced DNA damage and in vivo DNA damaging action of 4-NQO by the reaction of mutagen inactivation or DNA protection from the mutagen.

Lightning electromagnetic fields are important issues for the evaluation of lightning induced overvoltage on power lines and for setting the appropriate protection level for power networks. Such electromagnetic fields are strongly dependent on lightning return stroke currents at different heights along the lightning channel. On the other hand, the ground reflection factor due to the difference between the return stroke channel impedance and the equivalent ground impedance at channel base can have an effect on the shape of the return stroke currents by entering additional reflected currents into the channel. In this paper, the effect of the ground reflection factor on the return stroke currents at different heights along a channel and the electromagnetic fields associated with the lightning channel at close distances are considered. Moreover, the behavior of the electromagnetic fields versus the reflection factor changes and the radial distance changes are considered and the results are discussed accordingly. The results illustrate that the reflection factor has a direct relationship with the values of the electromagnetic fields while this is usually ignored in earlier studies.
