  • This paper proposed an ESD protection device that improved the current driving ability through Self-bias than the existing ESD protection device. The new proposed structure is based on the LRSCR structure and adds an N+ diffusion region, and reduces resistance by connecting the gate and the P+ diffusion region. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed ESD protection device exhibits a trigger voltage of 11.8V and a holding voltage of 5.9V. It can be used in 5V applications for low voltage and is expected to have excellent current driving capability.

  • A novel privacy-protection device to prevent visual hacking is realized by using a directional backlight and facial recognition. The proposed method is able to overcome the limitations of previous privacy-protection methods that simply restrict the viewing angle to a narrow range. The accuracy of user tracking is accomplished by the combination of a time-of-flight sensor and facial recognition with no restriction of detection range. In addition, an experimental demonstration is provided to verify the proposed scheme.

  • We introduce, in this paper, a novel approach of protection mechanism for data which are transmitted not only between the networked devices but also between the digital media devices. As the devices are getting more powerful and more storage capacity, they can process the encoded/encrypted data autonomously. However, all devices must know the secret key that used to encrypt data, and also use secure method to distribute that key. Moreover, there are no protection mechanisms supporting end-to-end copy protection which result in the fact that the data passed through various devices can be manipulated or captured. Therefore, we propose a RFID-based key distribution and protection mechanism to resolve these problems.

  • We consider 'efficiency versus privacy-protection' problem concerned with several well-known randomized response (RR) devices to estimate proportion of people bearing a stigmatizing characteristic in a community. The literature of RR on respondent's privacy protection discusses only about response specific jeopardy measures. We propose a measure of jeopardy that is independent of the RR offered by the interviewee and recommend it for using as a technical characteristic of the RR device. For ensuring better cooperation from the interviewees this new measure that depends only on the design parameters of the RR devices may be disclosed to the respondents before producing the RR by implementing the randomization device.

  • Current valve protection cover had problem that the hight of cover cap and road level could not match when the road was repaired and overcovered. But new developed device can solve this problem by forming several grooves in the connecting pipe. This device is devided into col=netting pipe (down side) and cap part.(upper side) On the outside diameter of connecting pipe, several horizontal grooves and two vertical grooves are formed. Through the horizontal grooves, the hight of cap part ran be adjusted with ground level. Therefore, this device can help easy maintenence in running water pipe.

  • With widespread use of the Internet and improvements in streaming media and compression technology, digital music, video, and image can be distributed instantaneously across the Internet to end-users. However, most conventional Digital Right Management are often not secure and fast enough to process the vast amount of data generated by the multimedia applications to meet the real-time constraints. In this paper, we propose the copyright protection using encryption of DCT coefficients and motion vector in MPEG-4 video codec of mobile device. This paper presents a new Digital Rights Management that modifies the Motion Vector of Macroblock for mobile device. Experimental results indicate that the proposed DRM can not only achieve very low cost of the encryption but also enable separable authentication to individual mobile devices such as Portable Multimedia Player and Personal Digital Assistants. The performance of the proposed methods have low complexity and low increase of bit rate in overhead.

  • In this paper, a new ESD protection device is proposed to improve the trigger voltage and robustness. The HHVSCR and the proposed device were compared to verify the trigger voltage, the holding voltage and the robustness. The gate length was modified to verify the electrical characteristics. The trigger voltage, the holding voltage and the robustness were certified by comparing the proposed device and the stacking structure.

  • For the purpose of designing and applying the optimum surge protection scheme, multi-stage coordinated surge protective device(SPD) system is suitable to successfully fulfill its tasks; first, to divert a large amount of the transient energy, second, to clamp the overvoltage to the level below the withstand impulse voltage of the equipment to be protected. The length of SPD connecting leads shall be as short as possible. Long connecting leads will degrade the protection effect of SPDs. In this paper, the influences of the length of connecting leads on the energy sharing in a coordinated SPD system were investigated experimentally, and the simulation of determining the energy sharing and protection voltage level of each SPD depending on the length of connecting leads was carried out by using P-spice program. It was confirmed that the protection voltage level and energy sharing in coordinated SPD systems are strongly influenced by the length of connecting leads.
